Feeling Blue?

Lots of people are getting sick right now with colds and bronchitis, so it's always good to have a get well card on hand.  This is "get well hanna" from Hannastamps - colored with Copics.  The cardstock is PTI Spring Rain and Enchanted Evening.

Three Leaves Sympathy

I'm still loving this PTI stamp set and made this sympathy card to show how many different ways this leaf trio can be used.

This is Spring Rain and True Black cardstock and ribbon from PTI, the leaves are stamped and colored with Copics.  I like how the black paper just offsets the blue to give it a sophisticated look.

Sleeping Teddy - Boy

Yesterday's snowstorm turned out to be not as bad as predicted, thank goodness! But it still was a good day to craft.  Well, everyday is a good day to craft!  lol

This is another one of my new stamps from PeachyKeen. The teddy bear is colored with Copics and the squares cut with nestabilities; I paper pierced the scalloped square. I added ribbon, a tag I stamped with "baby boy" and some buttons for embellishments.  I'm going to have to make another one of these for a girl.

Winter Is For The Birds!

We are expecting another major snowstorm here tomorrow - that will be the 4th one for this season!!  We are all sick of snow!

This stamp set (bird & sentiment) is from PeachyKeen Stamps and expresses how I feel right now. The black, white and red snowflake paper is from last year's DCWV Holiday Stack; the solid red and solid black cardstock is from PTI.  The cute little bird is colored with Copics and I put glitter on the white parts of the scarf, which is hard to see in the picture.  The red corners are from my new Martha Stewart photo corner punch.

Tree Sympathy

I'm still playing with my new PTI stamps - this is the new set called "Between The Trees" and I can see I'll get a lot of use out of it.  This uses all PTI paper, Kraft, Spring Moss solid and Spring Moss Bitty Dots patterned.  I edged the Kraft paper with some Coffee Bean ink and stamped the sentiment in the same color and there's a little bit of glitter on the tree branches.

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Today is my dad's birthday and I made this card for him using some of my favorite patterned paper from DCWV.  I always find it a bit more difficult to make a man's card since I don't want to use too many frilly things.  Tan, blue and green are definitely masculine colors and all seemed to blend together nicely on this card. I wrapped a bit of twine around the card (instead of ribbon) and added a little metal charm I put "dad" on with alphabet stickers.

Think Spring!

Yesterday I received my February PTI (PaperTrey Ink) order and couldn't wait to use my new stamp set "Take Three: Spring".  I saw this card on Nichole's (PTI owner) blog and fell in love with the card design and the stamp set.  I made the same card as Nichole, except I added another paper layer, ribbon and changed the sentiment from what she had.

I love this design so much I had to make another one!!  This time I flip-flopped the stamp images and used green for the layer, stamp coloring and ribbon.

Enjoy Your Birthday!

I've had this Riley stamp for some time now and couldn't find the right paper to use for the background.  Then I remembered I had the DCWV stack, "Nana's Kitchen", and found this glittery, sweet treats paper and thought it was perfect to go with the stamp.  We should enjoy ourselves on our birthday, and if that means eating cake or a donut, I say go for it!

Vase of Flowers

I'm thinking Spring Spring Spring and this vase of fresh flowers reminds me it will be here soon. This is another layout from the March issue of CardMaker magazine. The stamp, papers and sentiment is PaperTrey. The layers are cut using circles nestabilities and the stamp is colored with Copics.

Candle Birthday

I saw the layout for this card in the March issue of CardMaker magazine and decided to try it.  For those of you who like to count layers on a card (Mom!) there are 10 layers!  It was an easy and fun card to make and looks impressive.  The Happy Birthday is a $1 Studio G stamp.

Tulips In Window

My friend slipped on the ice Saturday as she was leaving her house and broke her ankle.  She had surgery yesterday and will be off her feet for a bit so I thought this card would cheer her up.  It reminds me of Spring - tulips and springlike colors.  This is a newly released Lockhart stamp called Tulip Window.  The paper is Heidi Grace and the rectangles are cut with nestabilities.  I also put some Flower Soft on the vines to give the card some additional dimension.

Valentine Milestone Birthday

Today is my cousin's birthday (and a milestone) and it's also Valentine's Day, so my parents asked me to make her a special card for her extra special day.

I didn't want to use red because I thought that would be too Valentine like, so decided to go with pink and dark chocolate, two of my favorite color combinations.  The scalloping on the pockets was done with an EK Success border punch.

Here's the card closed.....

The card opened.....

And then with the tags revealed.....

First Valentine

Yes, I'm still working on valentines!  I bought a pack of K&Company double sided paper at Michael's called "Lovely", and what a perfect name for it - it is lovely!  So when a friend asked me to make a "first" Valentine for her granddaughter, I knew this was the paper I had to use for it.

I love making things for little girls, you know, all pink and frilly, so this was a fun card to make. I used nestabilities for the hearts and scalloped square; originally I just paper pierced the scallops (I took this picture before I finished the card) but ended up putting clear crystals around the scallops which looked much better. The heart border at the bottom is a Martha Stewart punch....a little ribbon and a button and the card was done!

Go Braless!

We are finally starting to get back to normal after the blizzard, although some of the roads are still a bit snow and ice covered.  Another few days of sun will certainly help.

I just love Dolly Mama rubber stamps and they are so much fun to send for birthdays!  (hehe)

I Moose You

Here's Riley again colored with Copics.  The outside says "I Moose You" and the inside says "Do You Moose Me?".  I'm going to start making cards for a "cards for soldiers" program my friend organizes and thought this would be a nice card for a soldier to send home to his/her children.

Let It Snow

This a perfect stamp to use since we are supposed to get about 2 feet of snow today.  Oh, remember the good old days when we used to be fearless doing this?  Now I'd be afraid I'd break my neck or leg (lol) but it sure looks like fun!  The stamp is from Peachy Keen and colored with Copics.  I tore paper and outlined it with glitter for the snow and put polar white Flower Soft on the snowman's butt for dimension.

Butterfly Hinge

Time to take a little break from Valentines!

Today is my friend Susan's birthday and I thought she would like this card.  This is called a "hinge" card because the top part swings opens like it's on a hinge.  The pinks and greens on this card are so pretty together and remind me of Spring! The butterfly is made with the Cuttlebug and the ovals are cut out with nestabilities.  This is how the card looks like when it's closed and opened.

Valentine Treats

Yesterday we had about 18 inches of snow so I got a lot of crafting done.  I wanted to make some Valentine treats and made these cute little thingies with Hershey Nuggets and Dove Chocolates.

These were made using nestability circles:

And these were made using nestability hearts:

Valentine Patchwork

It's snowing like crazy today on the east coast - a perfect day to stay in and craft!  I always see cards  with stitching on them and decided it was time for me to get out the sewing machine and give it a try.  I was pretty impressed with the results and that my sewing was actually straight!  lol  The black zigzag just gives the card a little something extra, don't you think?  The hearts are cut out with nestabilities and the sentiment is a $1 Studio G stamp.

Valentine Taffy

I bought these taffys because I liked the pink and red swirls in them and thought they would look nice on a Valentine's card. I wonder if they taste as good as they look?

An Ideal Valentine's Day

Wouldn't this be a great way to spend Valentine's Day....relaxing with a box of chocolates?  lol  I saw this card on Splitcoaststampers (by Candice L.) and thought it was so cute and just had to make it!

This is Riley again, colored with Copics.  The background is embossed with Cuttlebug, the circles cut with nestabilities, dotted with Liquid Pearls, the hearts are the Martha Stewart heart ribbon punch, a few buttons and some ribbon top it off.

Valentine Hearts

I've been wanting to try the Martha Stewart tinsel glitter so made this card with it.  I really like it - it's so soft and she certainly has a lot of colors to choose from!  I made the first card using a white background and thought it needed a little more color so made another with a pink background.  Now I'm not sure which one I like better!  lol

Riley Flowers

This card originally started out as a birthday card but I decided to make it into a Valentine's Day card.  This is one of the new Riley stamps that just came out this past month.  He's cut out using rectangle nestabilities and colored in with Copics.  The hearts are the punched out remains from a Martha Stewart border punch - no use throwing them away and they look so cute on here!

Chocolate vs. Love?

Wow, it's February - January flew by in the blink of an eye!  I feel like I was just making Christmas cards and now it's time to start with Valentine's Day cards!  The stamp used on this card is a $1 Studio G stamp - these stamps are a very nice quality for the price and they have some cute stamps and sayings.  The heart was cut with a nestability.
