Happy 25th Anniversary

I made this card a while ago for a 25th anniversary party.

I used Soft Stone cardstock for the card base and added a layer of white cardstock, scored diagonally every half inch on the Scor-Pal.  I rounded the corners on the right hand sides to help soften the card a little.  I die-cut the doily and placed it on foam tape.

Next I die-cut the numbers, once in Soft Stone and once in silver mirror paper and placed them on the doily with additional foam tape.  I added the white pearls around the outside of the doily.

The sentiment is stamped in light grey ink on a banner die-cut in Soft Stone cardstock; I added a couple of pearls next to the sentiment.  I tied ribbon around the spine of the card - this was a nice, white ribbon with silver threading through it, so a perfect addition for a silver anniversary card!

My last step was die-cutting the hearts - a scalloped heart in silver mirror paper and a regular heart in white cardstock.  I stamped the "love" in grey ink and tied the heart to the ribbon with Stone twine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Beautiful Butterflies, Tiny Tags
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Soft Stone; Silver Mirror

Birthday Wishes (Scraps)

Happy December!  Didn't I just write Happy November on here a few days ago??....the month went by so fast!

My friend gave me a bunch of pieces of this pretty pink Hibiscus Burst pattern paper that she had leftover from a project she worked on.  I knew I was going to make another card using strips of paper with them.

I used white cardstock for the card base and placed 1/2" strips of paper diagonally across it.  I die-cut the doily and placed it on the edge of the card, trimming off a little bit on the right hand side.

I die-cut a circle in white and stamped the sentiment, placing it on a scalloped circle in Hibiscus Burst cardstock.  The circles are on foam tape for dimension.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI 2012 Birthday Tags
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Hibiscus Burst Damask, Hibiscus Burst
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Welcome Little One

Yes, another boy card.  Where are all the baby girls this year??

I used Spring Rain cardstock for the card base and added a layer of blue check pattern paper.  To give the bottom a little shape, I used card edgers to create a scalloped look.

I die-cut the doily in white and adhered it to the card. The carriage was die-cut in Spring Rain; I stamped the sentiment on it and added two silver circles to the wheels.  The carriage is on foam tape for dimension.

My final step was tying white ribbon around the bottom of the card.

Adoption Wishes

My friend just adopted a baby boy - I didn't even know I had an "adoption" stamp until I was looking through my baby sets!  I'm happy I can use it on her card!

I used Spring Rain cardstock for the card base and added a layer of blue and brown polka dots paper, rounding the bottom corners.  I cut a 1" strip of the polka dot paper, which is double-sided, and used the other side to give the card some contrast.

Using the same polka dot paper, I made the pinwheel using my Lil' Inkers pinwheel die, adding a blue button and Flax twine in the middle.  The handle of the pinwheel is a lollipop stick that I tied blue ribbon around.  I placed the pinwheel on a doily I die-cut in white cardstock.

For the sentiment, I stamped "adoption" wishes in black ink onto a Tag Trio die-cut, reinforced on coaster and placed on foam tape for dimension.

It's A Girl!

More and more girls coming into the world....I've been making a lot of girl cards this year!  I bought this baby carriage in my last purchase of Memory Box dies and think it's so adorable!

I used Sweet Blush cardstock for the card base, embossing it with distressed stripes.  I die-cut the doily and edged around it with light pink ink.  I die-cut the carriage in matching pink cardstock and stamped the sentiment on it in black.

I die-cut the banner and stamped "congratulations" on it in black ink.  The carriage is adhered to the doily with foam tape for dimension.  I made the little bow in white ribbon and attached it to the carriage - I think it just finishes it off.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Take Three Summer; Taylored Expressions Bringing Home Baby
  • Paper:  PTI Sweet Blush, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Pixie Dust
  • Tools:  PTI Bountiful Banners Die; Cheery Lynn French Pastry Die; Memory Box Baby Carriage; Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes Embossing Folder

Sweet Peas Birthday

One of the ladies on the PTI Forum wanted to get 70 cards to give her mom for her 70th birthday and asked people on the forum to make and send a card to her.  It sounded like a nice thing to do - this is the card I sent.

I used white cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Aqua Mist gingham pattern paper.  I die-cut the doily in white and adhered it to the card.    I stamped the sweet peas image on white and colored it with Copics.

I die-cut the seed pack frame in Aqua Mist cardstock, stamping "sweet peas" and "happy birthday" on it.  I placed the colored image in the seed pack opening and adhered it to the card, adding a bit of glitter to the flowers for some sparkle.

I wrapped Charcoal twine around the bottom, threading it with a tiny tag stamped with "70 birthday wishes".

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Year of Flowers Collection, Year of Flowers Titles, Tiny Tags, Gracious Vases, Simple Alphabet
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, Aqua Mist Pattern Pack, White Stampers Select

Birthday Gladiolas

Another post today - I'm determined to win something from PTI during their birthday celebration!  lol  The challenge today is to make a project using one of their "Year Of Flowers" stamp sets.  Of course I have them all, so the hardest thing for me was choosing which flower set to use for my card.  I decided to use Gladiolas, the flower for August from the mini collection.

I used Sweet Blush cardstock for the card base, added a layer of  pink and white pattern paper and rounded the bottom corners.  I die-cut a doily and placed it on top.  I stamped the flower image on Rustic White cardstock and colored it with Copics.

I die-cut Seed Frame #2 in Sweet Blush cardstock and also die-cut the same in coaster to give the cardstock a little support.  I placed the colored image in the frame, stamped Gladiolas on top and Happy Birthday on the bottom.  The frame is on foam tape for dimension.

I added glitter on the flowers, tied white tulle around the card and adhered two buttons in the bottom corner to complete the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Year Of Flowers Collection, Gracious Vases, Year Of Flowers Titles
  • Paper:  PTI Sweet Blush, Rustic White, White Stampers Select; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Seed Frame #2 Die; Cheery Lynn French Pastry Die; Corner Rounder

Morning Glories Birthday

I ordered this new "seed packet frame" die from PTI last month and wanted to use it right away.  My mom always gardens, so this is a perfect card for her.  I used Blueberry Sky for the card base and layered it with a coordinating blue, flowered pattern paper.  I rounded the bottom corners and die cut the doily and layered it on top.

The flowers were stamped on Rustic White and colored with Copics.  I diecut the seed packet frame in Blueberry and also coaster for support.  I stamped "morning glories" and "happy birthday" onto the frame and adhered it to the doily with 3d foamies for dimension.

I wrapped white tulle around the top and decorated a hat pin with pearls, silver balls and clear crystal balls.  I stamped "mom" onto a heart diecut, edged around it with blue and tied it to the tulle with Shore twine.  My last steps were adding the buttons, pearls and Pearl Pen in the middle of the flowers.  Happy Birthday Mom!!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Year of Flower Minis, Gracious Vases, Tiny Tags, Year of Flowers Titles
  • Paper:  PTI Blueberry Sky, Rustic White; Hot Off The Press

sending birthday wishes (CAS #2)

This is another quick card to make.  I used white for the card base and added a layer of  Raspberry Fizz.  Next I took a piece of white cardstock and ran it through the Cuttlebug with a doily die, embossing the die into the cardstock (instead of cutting it out).  I punched two butterflies, cut with coordinating pattern paper, adding 2 small black gemstones in the middle of each.  I stamped the sentiment onto a banner strip and adhered it to the card with foam tape.  Easy!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Everyday Button Bits
  • Paper:  PTI Raspberry Fizz, White Stamper's Select, Raspberry Fizz Mix
  • Tools:  Cheery Lynn French Pastry Die; Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch; PTI Double Ended Banners Die
  • Other:  Taylored Expression Gemstones

Cherry Tree Birthday

I wasn't going to post something today, but then I thought "how many times do you get a chance to post on leap day?" lol   I made this card for a February 22 birthday, which is also George Washington's birthday.  The story is that George received a new hatchet and went about chopping everything, including his father's favorite cherry tree, killing it.  Furious, his father asked George if he knew who killed his tree and George replied, "I cannot tell a lie, I cut it with my little hatchet".  George's father was no longer angry, but happy his son had told him the truth.  Okay, enough of the history lesson....

I used white for the card base and layered it with a tiny boxes pattern paper.  I cut a doily and edged around it with a light tan ink.  Next I layered it with Autumn Rose cardstock, and stamped the tree image onto white.  I stamped small circles in rhubarb onto the tree and then added the stems to create "cherries".  The ground was made by cutting two pieces of Spring Moss paper and overlapping them.  I stamped the sentiment, added the ribbon and twine, the gems in the two corners and a little glitter on the cherries.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Through The Trees, Harvest Berries
  • Paper:  PTI Autumn Rose, Spring Moss, 2008 Bitty Box Basics
  • Tools:  Cheery Lynn English Tea Party Die
  • Other:  Ribbon, Gems, Martha Stewart Glitter
  • Card Size:  5.25" x 5.25"

Baby Shower Sign

Someone asked me to make them a sign for a baby shower.  She wanted a baby carriage made of blue and brown and provided the wording for the sign.  For the sign base, I used chipboard and covered it with a light blue paper.  I didn't really have anything to make a baby carriage, so I made it using scalloped circle nestabilities, adding scalloped lace along the edges made with a Martha Stewart punch.

The wheels were made with regular circle nestabilities; I drew spokes on them and added the center blue crystals.  The words and carriage handle were made on the Cricut.  I put the carriage on 3d foamies for additional dimension and adhered it to a doily diecut with a Cheery Lynn die. My final step was adding the bow.  The second picture is a little dark but shows the final product.

Project Details:
  • Paper:  DCWV; Bazzill
  • Tools:  Cricut; Standard & Scalloped Circle Nestabilities; Martha Stewart Eyelet Border Punch; Cheery Lynn French Pastry Die
  • Other:  Ribbon, Adhesive Gems, 3d Foamies
  • Use What I Have:  I rarely use my Cricut anymore!
