Let It Snow...

I've been making a bunch of tags and decided to personalize them. I think it'll be fun to see if the recipients notice their name on the tag. Probably not...they'll most likely rip the paper off and throw it in the trash!!😮 Guess who'll be fishing the tags out of the trash?😎

I die-cut the tag in Spring Rain and Blueberry Sky cardstock. I used a stencil and white ink for the snow and added a snowdrift in white cardstock at the bottom with my usual glitter line. The bear is die-cut in white cardstock, stamped in black ink and colored with Copic Markers. I placed him on foam tape for dimension and added some pink chalk for his rosy cheeks.

I stamped out the name, placed it on an Enchanted Evening banner and added denim twine for the tie.

Let It Snow!...

Ha, no snow in this area as our temps are above normal and could reach the 70s again this week. This is my favorite time of year but the weather has been a disappointment so far.

I just love this Snow Globe Kit from MFT and have been making quite a few cards and tags with it. For this one, I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock and die-cut the snow globe opening. I die-cut another snow globe in white cardstock, inked it with Spring Rain and Blueberry Sky inks to create a wintry sky and placed it into the Kraft opening. To create the snowy background, I used a stencil and pearlescent embossing paste over the entire front of the card. I also edged around the Kraft with white ink for more of a snowy look.

The snowman's body is die-cut in white cardstock, his arms in Dark Chocolate, hat in True Black and nose in Orange Zest. His eyes, mouth and buttons are stamped in black ink. I added the scarf and hat band in a piece of red pattern paper and placed him on foam tape for dimension. For the background, I die-cut the snow drift in white cardstock and the trees in Green Parakeet cardstock.

The snow globe base is die-cut three times in Pure Poppy cardstock and stacked together for dimension with the sentiment heat embossed in white ink. The panel is adhered to a white cardstock card base. To finish the card I added a glitter line to the snow drift, white markings on the trees and Watermelon twine.

Just a quick card for today.

On white cardstock I stenciled the stars in Pure Poppy ink and placed the panel on a Bright Buttercup cardstock card base.

The sentiment is stamped in black ink on a die-cut made with Treat Bag Tag Liners, outlined with Bright Buttercup ink and on foam tape for added dimension. A few wraps of crochet twine completes the card.

Thinking Of You...

Time to get back to normal so the holiday cards are done for now.

I used a new grid stencil for this card, placed it on top of white cardstock and rubbed Hawaiian Shores, Green Parakeet and Harvest Gold inks on it, leaving some of the white showing at the top and along the right side.

The flower is die-cut in white cardstock and stamped with Green Parakeet and Harvest Gold inks with a black center. The sentiment is embossed in white on a piece of black cardstock and placed on fun foam for dimension.

Final touches were glitter on the flower and white crochet thread tied around the spine.

Sending You Hugs...

It's hard to believe it's October already! Now the rest of the year is going to fly by even faster!

With a stencil and a make-up brush, I applied Berry Sorbet and Pale Peony inks on white cardstock to create the lined background. Hugs is die-cut in Berry Sorbet cardstock three times and stacked. "Sending you" is stamped in black ink.

The top of the card was too empty looking so I tied crochet thread around the card. Another quick and easy card!

Hugs...

I wish I could take credit for the design/idea on this card, but that goes to the very talented and creative Laura Bassen. She made a card similar to this and I wanted to see if I could re-create it.

I started with a piece of white cardstock and rubbed Hawaiian Shores, Green Parakeet and Harvest Gold ink on it. This is my new favorite color trio! Next, I added a piece of fun foam to the back of the cardstock with tape. I placed Journal Card #8 on top and ran it through the Cuttlebug.

The circles were still in the negative after die-cutting it and I put glue on the back of each one and laid it on a white cardstock card base. I removed the negative and the circles were all lined up nice and neat!

Hugs is die-cut three times in black cardstock and stacked together. I think this is such a clever idea - thanks Laura!

Sending Get Well Wishes...

Color blending is very popular right now and I wanted to give it a try on an entire card front.

On white cardstock, I taped off a one inch strip with Post It Note tape and rubbed Aqua Mist ink below it. When I was done, I taped off the top of the Aqua Mist area and an inch above it and used Hawaiian Shores ink to fill in the area. I continued to use this same method on the card to add Dried Marigold, Berry Sorbet and Hibiscus Burst inks.

Sending is die-cut 3 times in white cardstock and stacked together. I stamped "get well wishes" under it in black ink. The little heart is punched in Hawaiian Shores cardstock from a border punch. The entire panel is on a piece of fun foam for dimension and adhered to a white cardstock card base.

I'm really happy with the way this one turned out!

Smile

Embossing paste has become a favorite of mine....I just need to use it more often!

For this quick card I applied pearlescent embossing paste on white cardstock using the Falling Snow stencil.

I die-cut smile three times in Aqua Mist cardstock, stacked and glued it together and applied it to the card. Voila - done!

Sending Birthday Hugs & Kisses

Has it been long enough since I used this little cutie?

On white cardstock, I used Aqua Mist mist (I mixed alcohol and Aqua Mist reinker) and my Falling Snow stencil to create the background for the card. I placed the stencil over white cardstock and misted it with the ink. It gave this card such a soft, pretty look!

The elephant and hat are die-cut in white cardstock and colored with Copics. The balloon is die-cut in Aqua Mist cardstock. I stamped the balloon string so it appears to be behind the elephant.

The elephant is on foam tape for dimension. I stamped the sentiment, added a couple clear sequins on the balloon and white crochet twine around the spine. Love this little guy!

Smile It's Your Birthday

I can't believe it's the last day of September - where did this month go??

This is another die I really like, the Smile Circle from Simon Says Stamp. It can be used for so many different occasions!

On white cardstock, I stamped the brushed images in Hawaiian Shores and Aqua Mist ink. Smile is die-cut three times in Hawaiian Shores cardstock, stacked and glued together. I stamped "it's your birthday" under it in black ink.

To help take away some of the whiteness of the card, I added a thin strip of black pattern paper at the top and bottom. It also helps to bring out the black sentiment. Another quick and easy card! (the clothespin is only there to hold the card together!)

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Brushed Off, Wet Paint III
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Hawaiian Shores, 2008 Bitty Box Basics
  • Ink: PTI Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist; Memento Tuxedo Black

Sending Get Well Wishes

I bought Zig markers a few months ago and really haven't played around with them much so I'm using them on this card.

On watercolor paper, I wet the paper using a brush and water. I dabbed Pink and Light Green markers onto the wet paper and let the ink run and got this really nice effect. I placed the panel on a white cardstock card base.

Sending is die-cut in watercolor paper, wet and colored with the same Pink marker I used for the background, giving it an ombre look. For the rest of the sentiment, I cut a strip of black paper, stamped it with Versamark, sprinkled it with white Zing embossing powder and melted it. The strip is on foam tape.

I rounded the bottom corners for my final step.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Phrase Play #6
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, White Stampers Select; Watercolor 140#
  • Ink:  Versamark

Happy Birthday

And here's this cute little kitty from Simon Says Stamp again.

I stamped the kitty and box on white cardstock, coloring the kitty and box flaps with Copics. I stamped the box onto purple paper and fussy cut it, adhering it to the bottom of the box.

Since I already had my Card Edgers out, I cut a piece of purple bitty dots paper for the top to match the box. I stamped the sentiment in black ink and added a few sand colored sequins (aren't sequins great?). I used Kraft cardstock for the card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Simon Says Stamp Furry Cat & Box
  • Paper:  PTI Plum Pudding Bitty Dots, White Stampers Select, Kraft
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Happy Valentine's Day

I'm getting a bit of a late start today - it's soooo cold that I didn't want to get out of bed! The wind chills this morning are around -20 below zero. Brrrrr

Isn't this little kitty the cutest thing? I saw this stamp on Pinterest and had to get it. On a strip of white cardstock, I stamped the cat and box image and colored the upper portion with Copics. For the box, I stamped the bottom portion of it on patterned paper, fussy cut it and adhered it to the stamped image. I stamped the string around the box in black ink.

On a white cardstock card base, I layered red cardstock and the patterned heart paper at the bottom. See how nicely the box matches now? The stamped image was layered on a strip of bright pink cardstock that matches the hearts in the pattern paper.

Olivia's name was made on the computer and cut with a Tag Trio die. I placed it on foam tape for dimension. When I was cleaning out my craft room, I found these heart sequins in my Valentine stash and placed them so they look like they are floating out of the box.

I stamped the sentiment on a stitched oval and adhered it with foam tape.  My last step was adding pink ribbon around the bottom.

There's No Place Like Home...

I think this is the last of my holiday cards to post! This is the card I made for my parents mail carrier, I try to make her something "postal" each year. I wanted to put a mail truck on the front and remembered that cute little truck in Special Delivery.

Yes, that's the Falling Snow stencil again! Haha I got good use out of it so far! I started with a Blueberry Sky cardstock card base and used embossing paste and the stencil. And yes, used my In The Meadow snowdrifts again...they were well worth buying (even though I thought it was silly to have snowdrift die-cuts in the beginning). The drifts are lined with glitter.

Next, I stamped the house, colored it with Copics, trimmed it and placed it on thin foam tape. Then I stamped the windows and door again (using the holiday additions to the stamp set), cut them out and placed them on top. These steps sound quick typing them, but they all took a while to do! I die-cut the trees in Spring Moss and placed them in the drifts on foam tape, adding a bit of glitter to them too.

And finally the truck. I stamped the truck on a white die-cut, adding the red and blue stripes on the side. I had some USPS priority mail stickers and carefully cut out the postal wording and added it to the side of the truck. I think it looks pretty authentic, don't you? To finish the truck, I colored the headlight in yellow and placed Glossy Accents on top. I added glitter to the top of the truck and stamped the sentiment in Pure Poppy on the snowdrift.

Sending Christmas Joy & Cheer

And here's the Falling Snow stencil again...I just love this look!

I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base and embossing paste for the snow. I die-cut the snowdrifts and adhered them to the card, stamping the sentiment and placing glitter along the edges.

My new favorite die is "Village" from Simon Says Stamp. It's so nice with the houses and trees - and I can think of many possibilities using this set! I die-cut the houses in several different bright colors, backing them with a light yellow cardstock to make it look like there are lights on in the buildings. The trees are cut in two different shades of green with a couple placed on foam tape.

To finish it off I added white Fun Fur - I have to use fun fur with snow! haha It just makes the card much more festive looking! I also put a little glitter on the trees. This card was so sparkly in the sunlight from all of the glitter - really looked pretty!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Stylish Sentiments: Holiday
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, White Stampers Select, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise, Sweet Blush, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse; DCWV

Christmas Snowman

One of my new, favorite stencils is Falling Snow by Simon Says Stamp. I used it 3 or 4 times for cards since I got it.  And it can be used year round, not just for snow.

I started with a Blueberry Sky cardstock card base and placed the stencil over top of it, taping it down so it wouldn't move. With a spatula, I spread embossing paste over the stencil and gently lifted it up. Doesn't the snow look realistic?

Next, I die-cut the snow drifts and placed them at the bottom of the card, outlining them with glitter and stamping the sentiment. I die-cut the snowman, and instead of placing him looking face forward, stamped his face on an angle. A different way for him to look and another way to use this snowman!  I cut out a carrot for his nose, placed two enamel dots for his buttons and added thin red ribbon for the scarf.

After I put the snowman in the snowdrift, the card looked too empty and I remembered I had this birch tree die.  I die-cut it and placed it in the snowdrift - a perfect fit!  The snowman needed to be looking at something and I die-cut the little red bird and placed it in the tree.  I added Will's name on the tag that's hanging in the tree.

To finish the card I added white fun fur on the spine.  I just love the way this card turned out!
