Papertrey August 2018 Create Along With Us...

Seeing all the Fall cards the week is making me happy, because I know it won't be long and Fall will be here! And that means cooler weather....yippee! I really like this card Heather Nichols made and it inspired me to make something similar.

I started with a piece of Rustic White cardstock and stamped the wreath twice in Cocoa Bean ink. I added sprigs around it, stamped in Kraft ink.

The pumpkins are die-cut in white cardstock and stamped with Ocean Tides, Kraft, Cocoa Bean and Morocco ink and placed on foam tape for dimension. The sentiment is also stamped in Cocoa Bean ink.

At the last minute I tied jute around the top of the card. Fun and quick to make!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Pumpkin Patch, Twig Wreath, Keep It Simple: Thanksgiving
  • Paper:  PTI Rustic White, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Cocoa Bean, Kraft, Ocean Tides; Memento Morocco
  • Dies:  PTI Pumpkin Patch
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Jute

Papertrey June 2018 Create Along With Us...

Do you ever think you have a ton of flower stamps and then try to find one that'll work for your project and realize you actually need more flower stamps?😄 That's what happened when I tried to replicate this simple, but gorgeous card Betsy Veldman made.

For my card, I picked a flower from Mixed Bouquet. I started by stamping my sentiment in black ink and placed my flowers (sort of) in the same places as Betsy. The flowers are stamped in Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise and the stems in Green Parakeet and New Leaf inks. The centers are also stamped in black ink.

I also used a stitching die around the edges and attached the panel to a white cardstock card base. It was a quick and simple card to make. Not nearly as nice as Betsy's, but a decent attempt.😎

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Mixed Bouquet, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday, Reasons To Smile
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, Green Parakeet, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf; Versafine Onyx Black
  • Dies:  Lil Inker Designs Stitched Mats: Rectangles
  • Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Papertrey May 2018 Create Along With Us...

I'm so thankful for the PTI challenges because at least I'm crafting each week to enter the contests. Still waiting for my desire to create to come back. 😞  When I saw this card by Heather Nichols it reminded me I haven't used my Sweet As Can Be stamp set for a long time. Time to ink it up again!

For my card I started with a piece of white cardstock and stamped the 3 cones in Kraft ink. I added the scoops of ice cream in Hawaiian Shores, Hibiscus Burst and Green Parakeet inks and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

I placed a layer of Hawaiian Shores Bitty Dots on a white cardstock card base, trimmed down the ice cone panel and placed it on fun foam for dimension. What's an ice cream cone without sprinkles so I added coarse glitter?

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Sweet As Can Be, Birthday Classics: June
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, 2009 Bitty Dot Basics
  • Ink:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, Hibiscus Burst, Green Parakeet; Versafine Black Onyx
  • Other:  Fun Foam; Coarse Glitter
  • Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Papertrey March 2018 Create Along With Us...

It seems like ages since I did any crafting, I can't seem to snap out of my non-crafting funk! But after seeing this beautiful card from Laurie Schmidlin, I thought I could make something similar. I really liked the look of Aqua Mist on Aqua Mist! Plus it gave me a chance to pull out my spiral notebook die that hasn't been used for a long time.

For my card, I started off with an Aqua Mist cardstock card base and, like Laurie, added another layer of Aqua Mist cardstock, stenciled with Aqua Mist polka dots.

I die-cut the notebook page in white cardstock and added lines with a thin, black marker. I stamped the sentiment in Raspberry Fizz ink and the little paperclip in Spring Moss ink. The berries are die-cut in white cardstock and stamped with Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, Spring Moss and Prairie Grass inks. I placed it on foam tape for dimension and added a little glitter.

Before assembling the card, I placed fun foam on the back of the panel and wrapped Pink Sorbet twine around the top, just like Laurie did. I really like the look of this Spring-like card!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Beautiful Berries: Spring, Beautiful Berries: Summer, Take Note
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, Spring Moss, Prairie Grass
  • Dies:  PTI Beautiful Berries: Summer, Spiral Notebook Page
  • Tools:  Heidi Swapp Polka Dots Stencil

Papertrey January 2018 Create Along With Us...

There was so much inspiration to choose from this month! One card that really called to me was this beauty by Heather Nichols. I love the combination of colors she used and of course her watercoloring is lovely too. I didn't feel like watercoloring (I never get good results!) but it made me want to pull out one of my bird sets and use it.

I started with a piece of white cardstock and added a layer of Spring Woods pattern paper. I die-cut the bird and the flowers in white cardstock and stamped them with Fine Linen, Aqua Mist and Cocoa Bean inks. I placed the bird on foam tape and stamped the sentiment in Cocoa Bean ink.

Just a quick card inspired by the new Brushed Birds stamp set!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Spring Woods
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Spring Woods
  • Ink:  PTI Fine Line, Aqua Mist, Cocoa Bean
  • Dies:  PTI Spring Woods
  • Other:  Foam Tape

Papertrey December 2017 Create Along With Us...

Well, I guess I need to wear my glasses more because I thought this adorable card by Betsy Veldman was a snowman when I first looked at it! 😀 Anyway, it inspired me to get out my Shape Up Snowman die. And with all the pink I'm seeing for Valentine's Day, I knew I needed to include it on my card.

I started with a white cardstock card base and added a layer of pink snowflake paper with a nice snowdrift at the bottom complete with glitter along the edge.

The snowman is die-cut in white cardstock. I stamped the eyes, mouth, nose, buttons and sentiment in black ink, and colored the nose with a Copic marker.  I sponged on a little bit of pink chalk for his cheeks. The hat is made with Hawaiian Shores and Pure Poppy cardstock.

I die-cut the "huggable" arms in Dark Chocolate cardstock and the mittens in Pure Poppy cardstock. Merry is die-cut in Hawaiian Shores and placed so it looks like the snowman is holding it. My last step was adding the coordinating ribbon for the scarf.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Shape Up Snowman Accessories, Stylish Sentiments: Holiday
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Hawaiian Shores, Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate; Recollections Christmas
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Copics:  Y38
  • Dies:  PTI Shape Up Snowman, Wonderful Words: Holiday; MFT Snowdrifts
  • Other:  Glitter; Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay Ribbon; Chalk

Papertrey November 2017 Create Along With Us...

I was happy to see more snowflakes this month! I have a "thing" for snowmen and snowflakes and can't resist buying them!😎 I was inspired by this card that Michelle Leone made - I liked how her large snowflake was the center of attention with the plaid background.

For my card I started with a white cardstock card base with a layer of plaid pattern paper, both die-cut with the stitched dies in the A2 Noted Vertical set. Next I die-cut the stitched snowflake three times in white cardstock and glued them together.

The stitched banner is die-cut in Spring Rain cardstock and the sentiment stamped in Kraft ink. I added a clear snowflake embellishment to the center of the snowflake. Lots of stitching on this card!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Christmas Critters Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI White STampers Select, Spring Rain; DCWV
  • Ink:  PTI Kraft
  • Dies:  PTI A2 Noted: Scalloped Vertical, Stitched Snowflake; Lil Inker Designs Stitched Sentiment Flag

Papertrey September 2017 Create Along With Us...

This month PTI is showing their new holidays designs, which happens to be my favorite time of year! And it's never too early to get started on Christmas cards. I saw this card by Betsy Veldman and was inspired by the way she used embossing, Blueberry Sky ink and snowflakes in her design. Her card is gorgeous!

For my project, I started with a piece of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Enchanted Evening ink. Next, I stamped a number of snowflakes and swirls in Versamark ink, sprinkled them with white embossing powder and heat set them.

I took Spring Rain and Blueberry Sky inks and rubbed them over the embossing. I placed the panel on a Blueberry Sky cardstock card base and added a sequin to each of the large snowflakes.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI What The Doodle: Snowflakes, Two Feet Deep
  • Paper:  PTI Blueberry Sky, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Enchanted Evening, Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain; Versamark

Papertrey August 2017 Create Along With Us...

Has another month gone by already? Yes, it's time to see all the new goodies that PTI has for us this month. I'm so happy to see that there is a new Beautiful Berries stamp set for Autumn, and that's why I selected Nichole's card for my inspiration. I like how she placed the large sentiment in the middle and surrounded it with the leaves and berries.

For my card, I started off by stamping the sentiment in black ink on white cardstock. I added the berries in the lower right corner, stamped in orchid and Scarlet Jewel inks. The leaves are stamped in New Leaf and Green Parakeet inks.

I added the border by using the Leaf & Sprig die, also die-cut in white cardstock. The card looked a little empty, so I die-cut the smaller berries, stamped them with the same colors and placed them in the upper left hand corner. I die-cut the berries four times and them stacked together to add a little dimension.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Beautiful Berries: Summer, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Scarlet Jewel, Green Parakeet, New Leaf; Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid; Versafine Onyx Black
  • Dies:  PTI Leaf & Sprig, Beautiful Berries: Summer

Papertrey July 2017 Create Along With Us...

Seeing the new retro station wagon and the Throwback Thursday from a couple weeks ago prompted me to take out my Enjoy The Ride stamps. I don't use this cute stamp set enough! This card, by Betsy Veldman inspired me to make my card!

Since I have a ton of pattern paper, why not start out by using a piece for my background. I thought this would take the place of stamping a sun, because to me the paper looks like sun rays. I die-cut the clouds in white cardstock three times each and stacked and glued them together for dimension.

The car is die-cut in white cardstock, stamped with black ink for the outline and Pure Poppy ink for the car itself. I used a couple grey Copic markers to color in the bumper. The banner is also die-cut in white cardstock and the sentiment stamped in black ink.

Although hard to see in the picture, I placed silver metal dots on the headlights - in person it gives it a shiny look, almost like the lights are on!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Enjoy The Ride
  • Paper:  PTI Comic Strip, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Pure Poppy; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Copics:  C00, C3
  • Dies:  PTI Enjoy The Ride, Sketched Shapes, Cloud 1 & 2 Collection
  • Other:  Metal Dots
  • Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Papertrey June 2017 Create Along With Us...

Seeing the new Beautiful Berries: Summer stamps that are coming out this month inspired me to use the current set (Spring) I have. The summer berries look so realistic! And even thought it's really hot here, I did manage to make a card. It's not even summer yet and I can't wait until Fall!!😄

On white cardstock using a chevron stencil, I lightly rubbed Soft Stone ink to create the wavy background. I die-cut two of the flower clusters in white cardstock and stamped the flowers with Lovely Lady and Berry Sorbet inks. The leaves are stamped with Spring Moss and Simply Chartreuse inks.

The top flower cluster is on foam tape for dimension. I stamped the sentiment in Smokey Shadow ink and added the strawberry twine. My last step was adding a little bit of glitter to the flowers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Beautiful Berries: Spring, Offbeat Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Lovely Lady, Berry Sorbet, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Smokey Shadow, Soft Stone
  • Dies:  PTI Beautiful Berries: Spring
  • Tools:  Memory Box Modern Chic Chevron Stencil

Papertrey May 2017 Create Along With Us...

A lot of inspiration this month, but what really struck me was this card Nichole Heady made with the new Cover Plate: Angles. I like how she colored the die-cuts with Copic markers and made it a "side card", inside of the usual card that opens up from the bottom.

Here's my take on her card. I die-cut Cover Plate: Center Stage in white cardstock and placed it on a white cardstock card base. I die-cut the inserts in a few different colors - Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry Fizz to create my design. Using cardstock was easier than coloring!😁

The sentiment is stamped on white cardstock made with the Initial Thoughts die, die-cut 5 times and stacked together. Happy Birthday is stamped in black ink and I added a few sequins to make the card look a bit festive.

It was nice to use these two dies again....and I really need to use my Cover Plate dies more often!!!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Keep It Simple:  Happy Birthday III
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Dies:  PTI Cover Plate: Center Stage, Initial Thoughts
  • Other:  Pretty Pink Posh Sequins
  • Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Papertrey April 2017 Create Along With Us...

There's no Make It Monday this week because PTI is showcasing products for their April release. We can play along by creating a project that is inspired by something during the release. I'm seeing flowers and pastel colors and that's what I used for my card.

On a piece of white cardstock, I lightly brushed Aqua Mist ink on a Garden Gate stencil to give me the lattice looking background. I placed the panel on a white cardstock card base, layered with Lemon Tart leaves pattern paper.

I die-cut the flower in white cardstock and stamped it with Hawaiian Shores, Spring Moss and Lemon Tart inks. I used the Misti so I could get a good, solid stamp color when I added the second layer of flower and leaf accents. The flower is adhered with foam tape for dimension.

The sentiment is stamped in black ink. To finish the flower, I added dots to the Lemon Tart flowers with a thin, black marker and tied white crochet thread around the stem.

I thought this would make a nice Mother's Day card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Brushed Blooms, Signature Greetings
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Lemon Tart Leaves
  • Ink:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Dies:  PTI Brushed Blooms
  • Tools:  Garden Gate Stencil
  • Other:  Black Marker; Foam Tape; Crochet Thread
  • Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Papertrey Dec 2016 Create Along With Us...

I love this card Laurie Schmidlin made - it's so soft and delicate looking. I was inspired by the wreath and the scalloped edges. I'm still having fun making Christmas cards and used the new Sprig Wreath set for my card.

I die-cut the wreath in white cardstock and stamped it with Spring Moss and Ripe Avocado inks. I added the pine cones in Cocoa Bean ink and the little berries in Pure Poppy ink.

The wreath is on foam tape for dimension, adhered to a Soft Stone cardstock card base die-cut with the Scalloped A2 die. I stamped the sentiment in the middle with Pure Poppy ink.

I added a bow die-cut in Pure Poppy cardstock and glitter to finish the wreath.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Sprig Wreath
  • Paper:  PTI Soft Stone, Pure Poppy, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Cocoa Bean, Pure Poppy
  • Dies:  PTI Noted: Scalloped A2 Collection, Sprig Wreath; Lil Inker Designs Bunnies & Bows

Papertrey Nov 2016 Create Along With Us...

I wasn't planning to make something for this contest because I'm making more Christmas cards right now than birthday cards. Then I saw Laurie Willison's simple birthday card and used the same idea for a Christmas card.

Here's Laurie's card that I used for inspiration:   ⇓  ⇓  ⇓

For my card, I started with a piece of white cardstock and stamped Happy Holidays in Pure Poppy and New Leaf inks. I really like these two colors together - very Christmasy! I added a strip from Holiday Plaid along the right side.

I felt like the card had a little too much blank space at the bottom and added the dotted double line. Quick and easy - which is really nice during this hectic time of year!😳

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Keep It Simple: Happy Holidays, Inside & Out: Love
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Holiday Plaid
  • Ink:  PTI Pure Poppy, New Leaf
  • Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Papertrey Oct 2016 Create Along With Us...

I've really been in the mood to make Christmas cards, I think because the weather is cooler and PTI has been releasing their new holiday stamps for two months. So much inspiration! I absolutely love this card Betsy Veldman made, it's so beautiful! I was originally going to make something similar, but know I'd never even come close to what she did! So my inspiration came from the non-traditional colors, the use of What The Doodle, the inked background and tiny snowflakes.

I started with a piece of white cardstock and applied Scarlet Jewel ink lightly with a make-up brush. The ornament is die-cut three times in white cardstock. On one, I stamped the image, applied Versamark ink and white embossing powder. After heat setting it, I brushed Hawaiian Shores ink on it, stacked and glued them together, adding the crochet thread bow on top.

The sentiment is stamped in black ink. I added the strip of Holiday Plaid pattern paper at the top and placed the panel on a Scarlet Jewel cardstock card base. There was too much space and the snowflake sequins helped fill in the background.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI What The Doodle: Ornament, Keep It Simple: Christmas
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Scarlet Jewel, Holiday Plaid
  • Ink:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, Scarlet Jewel; Versafine Onyx Black; Versamark
  • Dies:  PTI What The Doodle: Ornament
  • Tools:  Heat Tool
  • Other:  Stampin' Up Frosted Sequins; Crochet Thread; Zing Embossing Powder
  • Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
