Wedding Day Wishes

Today is my goddaughter's wedding day - it's a beautiful day - sunny and 66 - just perfect!  I made her what's become my "signature" wedding card.  I started with Vintage Cream card stock and scored lines 1/2 inch apart.  The cake (I just love this cake!) is a Jolee's sticker.  The flowers are from Michael's bridal section and I added pearls in the middle of each one.  I finished the card with the ribbon and sentiments.  Congratulations Jackie & Dan!!

Another Morning Glories Birthday

I made this for my friend's birthday because Morning Glories are one of her favorite flowers. I used Enchanted Evening for the card base, and topped it with a light blue pattern paper.  I cut out the stamp image using Lacey Squares nestabilities and edged it with a light blue ink.  The flower image is colored with Copics and I used white gold micro beads on them and the butterfly.  I tied a bow along the spine and added the Happy Birthday tag cut with a Tag Trio nestie and tied it with twine.  Happy Birthday Mary!

Hotel Gift Bags

My goddaughter is getting married this Saturday and asked me to help her make gift bags for the overnight hotel guests; each guest will receive a bag in their room filled with water, soda, snacks, gum, etc.  Since it's October, her theme is autumn and she's using Fall colors, leaves and acorns.   She wanted to keep the bag simple and decided to use a plain kraft bag and decorate the outside.  We put leaves on the outside and added a tag that I cut on the Cricut, then cut the circles with nestabilities and tied it on with green ribbon.  The bridesmaids gowns are green and PTI's Ripe Avocado cardstock was almost a perfect match!

Distressed Ink Boat

This is a card I made to try a new technique I saw on Gina K's blog.  The card base is  Enchanted Evening blue topped with a blue water pattern paper.  Next I took a Tim Holtz distress ink pad and turned it upside down and rubbed it across the paper to give it the streaked look; I did it twice in two different colors of blue.  I stamped the boat image and sentiment and cut them out using nestabilities.  Since this going to be a masculine card, I added my 'signature' brown twine!

Twine, Twine & More Twine!

I love to use twine on cards but it's hard to find good quality twine and in nice colors.  While reading the PTI Forum, I noticed a lot of members were talking about twine they bought from The Twinery.  So naturally I had to look at their website and I was immediately hooked!  So many colors to choose from:  Lemondrop, Lilac, Pink Sorbet, Cappuccino, Manderin, Caribbean, Maraschino and Peapod.  Some of my craft friends and I went in together to buy the "Twine Lovers" pack of 8 rolls.  There are 240 yards of each color!!!  Isn't it gorgeous?  sigh.....

Through The Trees Birthday

I'm trying to make more masculine cards, they always seem to be a bit more difficult for me to make, but this one came to me rather easily.  I'm using more and more Kraft these days so that's the card base.  I layered a piece of brown patterned on top, followed by Dark Chocolate and then the stamped image, which is from PTI's Through The Trees.  I added a strip of Pure Poppy to bring out the red bird in the trees, stamped the sentiment and added the twine.

Embossed Happy, Happy Birthday

This is one of my favorite color combos - raspberry, black and white!  The card base is white, topped with black, then Raspberry Fizz that I ran through the Cuttlebug using the Happy Birthday folder.  I really don't use my Cuttlebug embossing folders much and really do like the effect.  I used PTI's Fillable Frame #1 for the sentiment:  I cut out the die, stamped the border and sentiment.  I sprayed the entire card with Pearl Glimmer Mist, (something else I don't use very much!), added a few crystals and ribbon for embellishments.

Cowboy Cookies Basket

My friend asked me to make her a basket of my "famous" Cowboy Cookies for her to take into work.  Here's a plate of cookies just waiting for a cup of tea to go with them:

There are about 12 people in her department, so I wrapped 6 cookies in individual bags so everyone can take one:

I used PTI's new Everyday Treats to create the label.  I stamped it in rhubarb stalk and black inks and added the threaded buttons:

And finally wrapped and ready to go:

I made her a little treat bag (using a PTI Kraft Bag) to take home for her and her husband to enjoy.  Hmm, I wonder if her husband will ever see any of these?  lol

Pine Cone Wreath

The weather was a bit cool here this week and made me want to make a Christmas card.  This is a stamp set I bought last year from Rubber Stamp Tapestry and decided to try it. I used Kraft for the card base and then a very Christmas like green pattern paper from DCWV.  I stamped the wreath (see how below) on PTI's Mat Stack 3, added a strip of red cardstock, adhesive metallic embellishments and a little bit of gold Stickles.

The stamp set is just 2 stamps:  the branch and the pine cone.  To make the wreath, I stamped a branch in the north, south, east and west positions and then filled in between by randomly stamping more branches.  I used several different color green inks for the branches and then stamped the pine cones on top. It's easy to do and each wreath is unique!

Fifth Anniversary

Someone asked me to make a fifth anniversary card for their daughter.  I used Aqua Mist for the card base, followed by matching Aqua Mist pattern paper.  Next, using nestabilities, I cut out 5 hearts and layered them, topping the last heart with a string of pearls.  The corners were made with a Cuttlebug die; I the added pearls, ribbon and sentiment.

Rose of Sharon Birthday

This is another card I made using Lockhart's Rose of Sharon stamp.  The card base is Plum Pudding, topped with Vintage Cream.  I often want to make my own patterned paper and stamped the vines and flowers using Turning a New Leaf.  The stamp image is colored with Copics and cut with Beaded Ovals nestabilities.  I added a a strip of ribbon, a few crystals flowers and the sentiment (made on the computer).

Morning Glories Birthday

This is PTI's new flower set for September called Year of Flowers:  Morning Glories.  I just love all the details in these flower stamps!  This card base is Enchanted Evening, topped with a layer of Spring Rain.  I stamped the image on white and then scored around the edges for a little different effect.  The image is colored with Copics and I used Martha Stewart white gold micro beads for the centers.  I added the butterfly and sentiment for the final touches.
