First Mother's Day

Someone asked me to make a card for their daughter who will be celebrating her first Mother's Day!  I used PTI's matching papers - this is a combination of Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush.  The stamped image is from their Delightful Dahlia set (I don't have this set [yet!] but made some stamped images from my friend's set.)  The flower is stamped and colored with Copics; I added silver microbeads to the center of it and then cut it out and adhered it to the white background.  Some ribbon, buttons and paper piercing finish off the card.

Anniversary Wishes!

Today is my parents' wedding anniversary! For this card I mounted squares on squares onto a square card!  The patterned paper is a soft green with different shades of green and cream, on top of a darker, but soft green.  I cut out the 3 hearts using nestabilities, stamped the sentiment, added 3 pearls and a flat knot bow to embellish.  Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!!!!!!!!

With Heartfelt Sympathy

This is another new stamp set from PTI called Masculine Motifs.  I always say it's more difficult to make cards for men, so this set will really come in handy!  The trees are colored with Copics, and it's hard to tell in the picture, but I outlined the white cardstock with glitter for a different effect.  Between the avocado and black colors and a little bit of twine, it really does look like a masculine card!

Sweet Peas

This is one of the new sets from PTI's April release called Year of Flowers:  Sweet Peas.  I couldn't wait to get this set and try it out!  This flower stamp is rather large, so I only cut out part of the image using my Labels 1 nestabilities.  I colored the flowers with Copics, inked around the diecut with light green and outlined the flowers with fine, white glitter.  The ribbon, buttons and pink cardstock are PTI's Sweet Blush and I used Kraft for the card base.

Fly Away

I couldn't wait to use this stamp set from PaperTrey called "Fly Away".  It's a $5 set that includes 2 planes, the banner and 4 sentiments!  I think this card would be really cute for a little boy's birthday.  I fished out some cloud patterned paper I've had for a long time - I knew someday I would use it!  I stamped and cut out the plane and banner and put it on 3D foamies, connected the two with some black embroidery thread and added stars at the top and bottom to match the star on the tail of the plane.

Shopper Girl Birthday

Someone asked me to make them a double pocket card for their friend's birthday, and could I use purple and  lime green colors, and something related to shopping, and this is what I came up with.  The double pocket cards are quick and fun to make and allows you to write quite a bit of sentiment inside since there are two tags that pull up.  This stamp is Shopper Girl from Hannastamps and she's colored with Copics and on oval nestabilities.

The Show Must Go On!

I wanted to make a card for someone who works in the theater and was drawing a blank, so I searched Splitcoast and saw the perfect card that Karli (CraftingwithClass) posted and "cardlifted" her idea.  This is made from a single sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 folded into 3.  I used a crimper to make the pleated curtains on the side and a scalloped border punch for the main curtains.  The floor was created using the Scor-pal and the fleur de lis embellishments with a nestability. The sentiment is on the back of the card when you lift up the stage.  Thank you so much Karli for your great idea!

Got Cake?

This stamp always makes me laugh!  It's from the Humorous set by Inkadinkadoo.  The image was stamped and colored with Copics, cut out with nestabilities circles, and I paper pierced the scalloped edge.  The corner accents are a Cuttlebug die, and there is a bit of glitter at the bears feet (paws?)  lol

First Holy Communion - Take Two

Here's another style of communion card.  The base is white, layered with a light green (it looks darker in the picture) cardstock and  patterned paper with very soft green, rose and beige colors.  Again, I used a Jolee dimensional cross on top of two layers of nestability die cuts, and pierced the bottom layer for a more dramatic effect.  To embellish, I added pearls and a white ribbon.

First Holy Communion

A few people asked me to make them communion cards.  I found some white embossed striped paper that I thought would be perfect for this (I didn't want the card to be 100% white so used some pink).  The rectangles are cut with deckled nestabilities, the cross is a Jolee's dimensional sticker and the silver corners are Anita's outline stickers.

Gifts of Spring

April showers bring May flowers, a true gift of Spring!  This is one of my new House Mouse stamps - I just had to have this one because it's so darn cute!  This is called Bring On The Rain starring Muzzy, Mudpie, Amanda and Monica who are having a good old time.  The stamp is colored with Copics and the cardstock base is Summer Sunrise from PTI.

Thank You

A couple of friends did some really nice things for me so I wanted to let them know how much I appreciate it.  This is made using PTI's Hawaiian Shores paper - and look how great this gorgeous color goes with black!  The background is a nestability eyelet pendant (I added swarovski crystals for bling) topped with oval nestabilities.  I love to use ribbon so of course I had to put some white on the card for an additional accent.

Lemon Tree

Well, I'm calling this a lemon tree!  I made this when I realized I had a lot of the same yellow buttons.  If you love buttons, this PTI stamp set is a must - it's called "Everyday Button Bits" and lets you apply buttons to create 3D images.  The flower pot and stem on this card are an example of what you can do.  Pretty clever I think!  I embossed the white background using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and cut out the dies with oval nestabilities.  Added a bit of ribbon, a few dew drops and sentiment and that's it!

Loads of Luck

A friend of mine just got a job after being out of work for some time and I wanted to wish him luck.  This is a Karen Lockhart stamp that I colored with Copics; the dies are cut out with oval nestibilities.  The chocolate cardstock and patterned paper is from PTI, ribbon is from Taylored Expressions and the sentiment was created on the computer.

Wedding Day!!

Today is my friend Jamie's wedding day and it's going to be a beautiful day with perfect weather - about 62 and sunny!  For her special card, I scored the ivory cardstock at 1/2 inch intervals with my Scor-pal.  The wedding cake is a Jolee's dimensional sticker; the ivory flowers are "table confetti" (from the bridal section at Michael's).  To match the pearls on the cake, I added a pearl to each flower and finished the card with some "bridal white" ribbon.  Congratulations and best wishes to the bride and groom!

50 Year Retirement

A friend asked me to make him a card for someone who is retiring after 50 years of working!  The "retiree" lives in the UK, so I could just picture him sitting in his English garden on a rocking chair.  This is an Inkadinkadoo stamp I've had for sometime and thought it would be perfect for this card!  I didn't want to make the card too feminine (and we all know how challenging it is to make masculine cards) so used dark blue and scarlet with a hint of beige.  The stamp is colored with Copics.

"Relax, rest, dream" is what you should do when you aren't working!  No worries, right?

Clear Card

I wanted to make a clear card for quite some time now and I already had a pack of clear plastic.  This is a regular A2 invite size card.  The basket stamp is from PTI's Vintage Picnic set.  The most difficult thing about working with the clear plastic is getting a nice, sharp fold (I guess it depends on the thickness of  the plastic too).  One other thing is it picks up everything because it gets full of static, so I feel like I have to keep "dusting" the card!  lol  It was hard to take a picture of this due to the reflection (you can see the window in the card).  The inside sentiment is exactly behind the image on the front of the card.

30th Birthday

A friend asked me to make a 30th birthday card for her friend and wanted something with bright, splashy colors.  I used this raspberry and black polka dot paper from PTI - I knew she would be in Las Vegas for the birthday celebration and the dots reminded me of dice.  The balloons were cut out using the Cricut and I added "30" stickers on each one.  A few silver sparkly doodads and ribbon on the front just jazzed it up a bit.

House Mouse Anniversary

I couldn't resist getting this House Mouse stamp!  This is Amanda and Maxwell, and the stamp is called "Tails of True Love".  They really do look like they are in love, so I thought this would be perfect for an anniversary card.  The stamp is colored with Copics and cut out using oval nestabilities.  The paper is PTI -  Spring Moss and Aqua Mist.  I added a few dew drops and ribbon and the card is ready to go.

Happy Easter!

Foil Embossed

This is another card we made at class yesterday using aluminum foil as the background!  Who would think you could use a simple kitchen item to get an effect like this.  The foil was embossed using a cuttlebug embossing folder; the "friends" and flower stamps are Stampin' Up and were heat embossed and embellished with a couple of brads.
