Happy Birthday Wreath

I've been playing with my PTI September purchases....this my favorite set this month!  It's called  Wreath For All Seasons and it can be used for a lot of occasions! For this card I used Kraft as the card base, then layered white and a cranberry diamond pattern.  I stamped the twig wreath in coffee bean, the berries in aloe vera and the flowers and sentiment in rhubarb.  I put tiny crystals in the middle of each flower and added the ribbon.  I really love using this set!

Autumn Birthday

I saw this card style by Lisa Johnson and thought it would be perfect for my friend who has a house in the mountains.  I started out with Kraft and topped it with a layer of Vintage Cream and a brown pattern paper.  I stamped the trees, deer and happy birthday from Masculine Motifs; the trees and grass are colored with Copics. I added the twine and some wood buttons to give it a true "masculine" look.  Happy Birthday Ed!

Hydrangea & Berries

This is Hydrangea and Berries by Lockhart.  The card base is white and I used two different pattern papers to layer it - one with tiny circles and the other striped.  I covered where they met with a green eyelet border  using a Martha Stewart punch (I thought the green brought out the flowers).  The stamp image is colored with Copics and I used my new Diamond nestabilities to cut it out.  I put a little glitter on the flowers, stamped Get Well Soon and added the pearls as a final touch.

Basket of Leaves

This is one of my new Lockhart stamps called "Basket of Leaves".  When I first saw this stamp, I knew I had to have it...I just love all the details on this stamp!  I used Kraft for the card base, topped with a layer of polka dot orange.  The image is colored with Copics, and it's a bit hard to tell, but I used Flower Soft on the flowers at the bottom left and right of the basket.  The image is cut out with Labels Fifteen nestabilities.  For embellishments, I added three orange crystals and white ribbon.

Autumn Blessings

It's finally Fall, and my favorite time of year!  This is a House Mouse stamp called Apple Harvest.  I used Kraft for the card base, a layer of green and colored the stamp image with Copics.  The background was a little too white for me so I dipped a Q-tip in orange and yellow inks and randomly tapped it on the card to make a "fall like" sky.  I put glitter on the apples, a couple photo corners and added the tag with ribbon.

Cute Little Finds

It doesn't take much to make me happy - put me in a craft store and I'm good to go!  I found some "must have" items in the last couple days I thought I'd share.  I love the dollar bins at Michael's - they have their Christmas items out.  Aren't these little containers of buttons adorable?  There are about 80 buttons in each container - for $1!

And you can't have enough embellishments.  These are all self-adhesive crystals, and of course, I had to get one in each color:  blue, red, green, clear, orange and yellow.  I also picked up some of the snowflakes.

I found this cute little "try me" glue set at Joann's!  Perfect to take to crops!

I'm doing my part to keep the economy going!  lol

Peonies Birthday

My friend's favorite color is blue, so I always try to make her a card using various blues.  This is one of my new Lockhart stamps - Peonies - I like coloring flowers more and more!  The card base for this is PTI's Enchanted Evening, topped with a piece of Spring Rain that I embossed with PTI's linen template.  The stamp image is colored with Copics and cut out with oval nestabilities.  I finished the card by adding  ribbon and a tag sentiment adhered with Martha Stewart twine.  Happy Birthday Kathy!

P.S.--If you want to order any Lockhart stamps, I highly recommend Susana's Custom Art & Card Design, she is so nice and has the fastest shipping!  I ordered stamps from her late Thursday afternoon and had them on Saturday!

Vintage Bridal Shower

I was asked to make a card using the wedding colors of gold, chocolate and ivory and the theme of teapots and vintage.  I used PTI's Harvest Gold for the card base, then topped it with a layer of Stampin' Up chocolate and ivory pattern paper.  I distressed the SU paper around the edges and added the lace along the spine.  I stamped and cut out the teapots, then heat embossed them in the coordinating wedding colors.  The sentiment was made on the computer, and I thought Annabel Script font looked "old" to me.  The card still needed something so I added the teacup and the pearls.  This was a challenging but fun card to make!

Anniversary Wishes

I made this for friends of my parents who are celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary.  The card base is Lemon Tart, layered with a multi-colored stripe paper.  The pear stamp is from Lockhart, colored with Copics, the gold corners are Anita stickers and the border is a Martha Stewart punch.  The sentiment was made on the computer.

Happy Retirement!

This is for my aunt who just retired after 43 years (yes, 43!) at the same place.   The card base is white, topped by a layer of Spring Moss and then a flowered pattern paper.  The rocking chair is a Lockhart stamp, colored with copics and mounted on a piece of Pure Poppy paper.  For the sky, I sponged light blue stamp ink to make clouds.  I made the sentiment on the computer, cut it with a nestie Tag Trio and threaded it with red polka dot ribbon.   I finished the card by adding a few strips of coordinating paper at the top and bottom.  I love this card - all of the colors go so well together!

Wedding Shower

Saturday was my goddaughter's wedding shower - the colors of her wedding are apple green.  For this card I used PTI's Spring Moss as the card base and topped it with a layer of Ivory cardstock and layer of leaf patterned paper (she also has leaves in her theme).  I used the Places Please die for the focal point of the card, stamped the sentiment and leaf and added pearls to the corners.  I tied ivory ribbon around the card and added a couple of light green foil leaves.

Rose of Sharon

Looking through my craft drawer the other day, I found a tool I haven't used in a long time....a crimper.  For this card, the base is Melon Berry, and I ran the Sweet Blush background paper through the crimper to give it a waffled look; it's a nice and easy effect!  The stamp is Lockhart's Rose of Sharon, colored with copics and cut out with oval nestabilities.  I sprinkled a little glitter on the flowers, added the sizzlet corner decoration with a couple pearls and some polka dot ribbon.  Happy Birthday Christine!

New York Wedding

A friend's daughter was getting married in New York and she asked me to make a wedding card, but could I put a New York skyline in the background?  I was hesitant because I'm not really an artist, but told her I would give it a try.  I found a picture of the New York skyline on the internet to use as a reference and then drew the background buildings (windows too!) with a silver gel pen (I thought silver would add a bit of elegance to the card).  Both my friend and her daughter loved the card!

Take Three: Fall

This is another card using PTI's Take Three: Fall stamp set.  The weather was a little cooler for a few days which put me in the mood for Fall!  The card base for this is an olive green topped with a striped paper of wine, olive and beige.  I stamped the wheat image on a piece of ivory cardstock using cocoa ink and cut it and the green paper behind it with my new Lacey Squares nestabilities.  The "give thanks" sentiment is from the same set and a piece of twine seemed to be perfect on this card.

Patio Lavender

This is using one of my new nesties sets - Lacey Circles.  The card base is Plum Pudding, topped with a piece of lavender paper and then a striped lavender/ivory/sage paper.  The stamp image is Lockhart's Patio Lavender colored with Copics and sprinkled with a little glitter.  I mounted the image on the circle nestie, then curled the edges up for a 3D effect.  I added the lavender bow, sentiment and lavender crystals.

Basketball 18th Birthday

This is for someone who loves the color green and basketball!  The card base is green topped with a layer of white and a layer of green striped pattern paper. The banner was made with a sizzix die; Edberg is layered with green and white cardstock cut out with Cuttlebug letters.  I used PTI's Just The Ticket stamp set for the tickets (green and black); the rest of the sports items are Jolee's stickers.  Since Edberg is turning 18, I made the "18" to put on the basketball jersey.  A bit of twine finished the card front; the inside of the card has basketballs bordering the sentiment, written in green of course!

Places, Please

This card uses PTI's new Places, Please stamp set.  This set is a bargain - it includes the frame and 16 images that fit in the circle of the frame, all for just $5!!  And, there's a coordinating die that cuts out the frame also for $5!  For this card I started with a white card base and layered it with some pretty red, pink and green flower patterned paper.  I added a small strip of coordinating paper at the top, bottom and middle, adding pearls to the "placecard" for the final touch.
