I made this birthday card for someone very special (today is her birthday) ....I thought she would like a more "sophisticated" card this year. This is another total Papertrey card - basket and flower stamps are from the Vintage Picnic stamp set and colored with Copics, papers are Kraft, Spring Rain and Dark Chocolate. I really do like the look of blue and brown together!

Lavender Sympathy
The flowers and sentiment for this card were made using Papertrey's With Sympathy stamp set; the butterfly with a Martha Stewart punch. I also highlighted the flowers with a Sukura clear glitter pen to give them a little sparkle (which doesn't show in the picture...).

Natalee
This is Natalee, from Peachy Keen Stamps....isn't she just the cutest little thing!!!!!!! I just placed my first order with Peachy Keen and bought eight stamps....so you'll be seeing more of them in the future. Natalee is colored with Copics, cut with a Deckled Large Rectangle nestability and I added a few gold stickers in the corners.

Floral Birthday
I've been looking through a lot of card magazines and books lately to try to get some new ideas for cardmaking. I spotted this birthday card in a book called "10-Minute Cards To Give & Share"; (card was designed by Lisa Johnson, PTI Design Team). It looked elegant to me - sometimes less on a card is better. I also tried my PTI Vintage Labels stamp set for the first time, it's easy to use with the Labels One nestabilities and I'll definitely be using this combination more often!
Oh, don't let the name of the book above fool you. 10 Minutes? I don't think so - heck, it takes me 10 minutes just to pick out the paper I want to use for a card! lol

Pocket Pocket
I like cards that do something other than just open, so when I saw this in CardMaker magazine, I had to give it a try. It was a lot of fun to make and would be cute to put a gift card in the pocket too! This one is more on the masculine side; I'm going to make one that's more feminine and will post it when I do. Here's the final card....
The "pocket" in the pocket:

Eat Dessert First!
I think I have chocolate and sweets on my mind! This birthday card introduces Fluffles the Cat by Stampendous; I have a few of these stamps too. And, I certainly agree, "life's uncertain"....so why not do the things we like, and if it's eating dessert first, I'm all for it! Dessert is a food group, right?

What's Cooking?
Here's House Mouse again! I've had this stamp for a while and decided it was time to use it (I bought this stamp because it reminds me of me since I love to cook and bake!). Sometimes it's easy to pick out the papers I want to use, and after I colored the stamp with Copics, I quickly found this matching blue and purple paper from DCWV.

Sign Language
I find that masculine cards are always a little harder to make than regular cards! I found some "manly" colors and pulled out my Sign Language stamp set from PaperTrey and picked out a design I thought appropriate for a man. This stamp set has a number of pictures and sayings to choose from to put on the sign post.

Seeing Red
I was looking through my paper and saw this pretty reddish cranberry color and decided to make a birthday card. The paper is Provo Craft's Super Slab 8, stamp is PaperTrey, tag is cut with a nestability. I used one of my many flowers (lol), ribbon, a few brads and some twine for embellishments.

Shopping
Today is my goddaughter's birthday and I can just picture her shopping at the mall with her "birthday cash", so this card seemed perfect for her! The stamp is "In Vogue" from Hannastamps - colored with Copics; the "Happy Birthday" is PaperTrey and oval nestabilities were used for the layers. The shirt and hat are actually purple - in the picture it's showing more of a blue color.

With Sympathy
The husband of one of the ladies on my craft board passed away last week so I'm sending her this card. This is a total PaperTrey card using their papers (Sweet Blush, Pink Patterns), stamps (Take A Bough, Everyday Classics) and ribbon (Sweet Blush). The die is cut with a mega nestability and I put a piece of vellum over the stamped image to soften it up a bit.

Chicken Soup Anyone?
I made some homemade chicken soup the other day and it reminded me I had this stamp. It's always good to have a get well card on hand! This is one of the new January releases from Lockhart Stamps....I like the details and the crispness of the edges and I never get a bad image when I use them. The layers are done with octagon nestabilities, the sentiment is from PaperTrey and colored with Copics.

Time To Say Thank You
I woke up this morning thinking about chocolate, so I wanted to make a card using a nice chocolate brown. I like using pinks and browns together and this paisley pattern by Heidi Grace was perfect to use! The layers were cut with nestabilities, matching pink and brown polka dot ribbon and a few crystal rhinestones top off the card.

A New Week Begins
One of my craft resolutions this year is to use some of the things I already have before buying anything new! (we'll see how long this lasts...lol) I dug out this Dolly Mama stamp and some Papertrey paper I haven't used before for this birthday card. How I can relate to the wording on this stamp!! The stamp is colored with Copics.

After The Holidays......
The holidays are over...all that shopping, baking, wrapping, decorating and visiting done for another year! Now time to relax just a bit. Doesn't the house look like a brand new house after you take all the decorations down? And speaking of decorations, why is it when you unpack 5 boxes of decorations, when you repack the same 5 boxes, it doesn't seem to fit, even though you aren't adding anything new? Hmmm.
Well, I'm glad it's January because it'll be nice to work on something other than Christmas. This is another one of my favorite stamps to use - Riley - there are a lot of Riley stamps and you'll see I use him quite often. I cut out the square and rectangles using nestabilities, added a few brads, ribbon and colored Riley with Copics.

Blog Header
The wonderful picture in my blog header was made by my good friend Debbie. Last May Debbie asked me if I could make cookies for her daughter's wedding (to give to the children in her class that were coming to her wedding). In return I asked Debbie to design a sign for me that I could hang in my craft room that expressed my creativity. The blog header is the amazing creation Debbie designed and painted for me! Didn't she do a great job? Here's a picture of the wedding cake cookies I made for her:

Christmas Cards
This is the card that was sent out to family and friends. I love House Mouse stamps!!! The HM image was colored with Copics, and it's a little hard to see, but there's a piece of mylar over the picture to make it look like you are looking through a window.
This was one of my favorite cards I made for Christmas. I got the inspiration from a Christmas card I received - and decided to make my own version of it. The branches were made with the Martha Stewart "branch" punch, which was one of my most used punches during the holidays!
This is another card I used with the same Martha "branch" punch. As you can see, this punch can be used in a number of ways! The poinsettias are colored with Copics.
And finally, a card I made for my parents' mail carrier.
