Love Lives Here Birthday

This is from a recent PTI stamp release - I didn't get this but my friend did and we used her set....now I think I might "need" to get this one too!  The card base is white, topped with a layer of Blueberry Sky; I ran it through the Take Three die and then an impression plate for the design.  The houses were made using a matching house die cut and stamped with blue and beige ink. I added a tiny border at the top of the house, a piece of Spring Rain paper behind the hearts and mounted them on 3d foamies for dimension. I wanted to keep the card "simple" so just added a sentiment and twine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Love Lives Here, Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain
  • Tools:  PTI Take Three Die, Background Basics:  Diamonds Impression Plate, Double-Ended Borders Die, Love Lives Here Collection Die, Banner Builder Collection Die
  • Other:  Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

60th Wedding Anniversary!!!!!

My dad asked me to make him a card to give my mom - today is their 60th wedding anniversary!  I wanted to make something really special and elegant, and already had in my mind that I wanted to use white, tulle and lavender as the colors for the card.  I used white for the card base and layered it with lavender paper.  I added another layer of white, but scored it in one inch intervals (hard to see in the picture).  Since diamond is the 60th anniversary gemstone, I added "diamonds" where the score lines cross.  The sentiment was made on the computer and cut with oval nestabilities; I paper pierced the scalloped edge.  The top lavendar and white squares are mounted on 3d foamies onto the card base.  Lastly some tulle and lavender mulberry flowers completed the card.  Happy 60th Anniversary Mom & Dad!!!!!!!!!!

The card was too thick to put into an envelope so I used one of the clear boxes that the PTI stamps come in!  I wrapped some tulle around it, cut out a "60" and adhered it to the tulle with matching twine and another flower.

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI White Stamper's Select, DCWV
  • Tools:  Scor-Pal, Standard & Oval Nestabilities, Paper Piercing Tool, PTI By The Numbers Die
  • Other:  Reflections Mulberry Flowers, Tulle, Crystals, Twine, 3D Foamies

Congratulations Jamie & Sean!

Happy Easter!

I think this was my favorite Easter card I made this year - I love the soft yellow and purple colors, so Spring and Easter like!  I used white for the card base, topped it with a piece of light purple, then added a butterfly patterned paper.  The dark purple shape on the right side was made using PTI's Border Banners.  I made the envelope and edged around it with purple ink, stamped Happy Easter on a notebook page and wrapped the twine around the envelope.  Of course I felt it still needed embellishments and added the flowers, butterfly and crystals.  Hope you have a wonderful Easter!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Studio G $1
  • Paper:  Bazzill, PTI Egg Hunt
  • Tools:  PTI Tiny Envelope Die, Border Banners Die, Spiral Notebook Page; Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch

Another Rabbit Card!

I didn't realize I used so many rabbits for my Easter cards until I starting posting them...lol....and here's another one!  I made two different colors for this card, the pink for female and the yellow more for male.  The card base is white, topped with brown and then either pink/yellow and brown polka dot paper.  The rabbit is stamped using PTI's Take Three:  Spring, and placed on top of a layer of pink/yellow paper and mounted on 3D foamies for dimension.  I made the pink card a bit more feminine with a bow and scalloped white strips, but used twine and a regular scallop for the masculine card.  I added the sentiment, buttons and a pompom for the tail.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Take Three: Spring
  • Paper:  Bazzill, Prima Flights Of Fancy Collection
  • Tools:  PTI Double-Ended Banners Die, Standard & Scalloped Square Nestabilities, PTI Banner Borders, Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edge Border Punch

Easter Doodad

I always like to make some sort of "doodad" for the holidays and try to come up with a new idea each time.  These are plastic test tubes filled with twelve Hershey kisses.  I put the tube in a clear bag, added some iridescent grass, tied it with blue, green or pink ribbon and added the tag on the front with twine.

Without all the "extras":
And the final product:

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

I'm trying to use things I already have on hand and this rabbit stamp has been sitting here for quite a while, so time to use it!  I used Lemon Tart for the card base and topped it with a piece of yellow with brown polka dots paper.  The rabbit was stamped in rich cocoa ink and I edged around the die cut with linen distress ink.  When I feel a card still needs "something", photo corners to the rescue!  I added the sentiment (done on the computer), brown and white twine, googly eye and white pompom for the tail.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Studio G $1
  • Paper:  PTI Lemon Tart, Prima Flights Of Fancy Collection

As soon as I saw this stamp, I knew I had to have it!  This is Penny Black's Easter March.  I made two different colors - I used white for the card base and topped it purple/yellow and then blue/pink.  The image is colored with Copics and I added some Stickles on the egg and a few crystals on the flowers.  It still needed a little something so I added the ribbon.  What a cute stamp!

Triple Egg Delight

I made this card for a young girl who's 11 - a hard age where the card can't be too young or too old, and I thought this would meet somewhere in the middle.   I used white for the card base topped with a light purple.  I cut out 3 dies using Fillable Frames #1 and stamped them with yellow, purple and pink.  Next I cut out the eggs with leftover PTI patterned paper scraps, adhered them with 3d foamies and added coordinating buttons with twine.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for the top border, and added the ribbon, butterfly and sentiment (made on the computer).

First Anniversary Wishes

I can't believe it's been a year already - it seems like just yesterday I attended Jamie & Sean's wedding!  My how time flies!  I used Plum Pudding for the card base since purple was their wedding color, added a layer of light purple patterned paper and a doily.  The sentiment was made on the computer and cut out with heart nestabilities.  To finish the card I added purple twine and a few purple crystals to embellish it.  Happy First Anniversary Jamie & Sean!

Note:  I purchased a photo tent for taking pictures and this was my first try at it...I need to practice and get the right lighting but I think it's going to be great for taking pictures on cloudy days or nights when I finish making a card.

80th Birthday

This is another new purchase from PTI - their "Tiny Envelope" die - doesn't this make a cute little envelope?  For this card I used Blueberry Sky as the card base and topped it with a layer of white and a layer of patterned, blue flower paper.  I made the envelope and inserted a spiral notebook page die; the sentiment was made on the computer.  I edged around the envelope and spiral notebook page with distress ink.  I cut the 80 with PTI dies, added the flowers, twine, butterfly and a few crystals.

16th Birthday

I made this for my friend's grandson who's a sports nut.  I used grey for the card base, topped with a light green and a striped green paper.  I used PTI's banner dies for Matthew's name and Jolee stickers for the sports items.  The card needed a little color so I added touches of orange and blue.  I stamped the ticket at the bottom and added his age (cut with the Cricut) to the football helmet.  Notice the photo corners....hehe.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Just The Ticket, Studio G $1 Stamps
  • Paper:  DCWV
  • Tools:  PTI Banner Borders Small Dies, Just The Ticket Border Die, Sizzix Photo Corners, Cricut, EK Success Balloon Punch

In A Nutshell

I've had this stamp for quite a while and thought I should use it - this will be a retirement card because it just looks like what a retired person should be doing!  This House Mouse stamp is called "In A Nutshell" and features Maxwell.  I used Kraft for the card base and topped it with a pink and orange polka dot paper.  Maxwell is colored with Copics; I used a sponge to tap blue ink to make the sky background.  I mounted Maxwell on a deep pink paper and edged it with a Kraft scalloped border.  I added another orange scalloped strip behind the image and finished the card with a pink ribbon and glitter on the sand.

  Card Details:
  • Stamps:  House Mouse "In A Nutshell", PTI Take Three: Summer
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Stampin' Up
  • Tools:  PTI Banner Borders
  • Other:  Ribbon, Martha Stewart Glitter
