Seed Pocket Birthday

I found a package of seed pockets from K&Company on clearance at Joanns - there were 8 pockets in the package!  I thought they would make nice, Spring or Summer birthday cards.  I used Sweet Blush for the card base and layered it with a flowered pattern paper.  I cut the doily using my Cheery Lynn die and edged it with a bit of light green ink.  I adhered the seed pocket and stamped the sentiment on the tag that pulls out.  Naturally it still needed something....so I added a few buttons and wrapped white tulle around the bottom of the card.

Happy Birthday (CAS #4)

Time for another CAS card - and this one was really simple!  I saw this card on Nichole's blog a long time ago and wanted to try it for myself.

I used white for the card base and stamped the boats. I stamped the first one in the center with full ink.  For the boat on the right , I inked the stamp and stamped it first on another piece of paper so the image wasn't as dark.  I repeated the same for the boat on the left but stamped it twice on the side paper before stamping my card base.  It's supposed to make the boats look like they are behind one another or more in the distance.

I wanted to make waves in the water and used a "canceled" stamp from my postage stamp set.  I think it worked perfectly!  I stamped the sentiment and wrapped some twine around the card and it was done!

Watercolor Violets

I saw this technique on Betsy Veldman's blog - using Tim Holtz Distress Inks to create a "watercolor" effect.  I used Spring Moss for the card base and layered it with a purple cardstock.  The violets were stamped with Versamark on watercolor paper, sprinkled with white embossing powder and embossed using a heat gun.

I used a makeup sponge to dab the ink onto the images, using Victorian Velvet and Seedless Preserves for the violets and Shabby Shutters and Bundled Sage for the leaves.  Once the ink was applied I used a mister filled with water and sprayed it on the violets.  I sprayed quite a bit of water on it, but didn't want to make the colors run too much.  I let it dry naturally for a bit and then finished drying it with my heat gun. I'm so impatient!

I stamped the sentiment on watercolor paper and cut it with an oval nestability, placed it on a scalloped oval that's paper pierced on the scallops.  I added the flower centers with yellow Pearl Pen and tied the ribbon around the card.

Easter Wishes

I debated on whether to get the Crosses Two Shapeabilities that just came out this year and I am so glad I did!  The crosses are so pretty and I'll be able to use them for a lot of occasions.  For this card, I used white for the card base and layered it with light yellow cardstock and a flower pattern paper, cutting the corners with an inverted corner rounder.

I diecut the crosses in Vintage Cream - there is a smaller cross stacked on top of the larger one - and edged around them in tea dye ink.  I placed the cross on a piece of blue cardstock and cut the corners.  I adhered the blue cardstock to the flower paper with 3D foam squares.  I added the ribbon, pearl and  sentiment, tied with Shore twine.  Happy Easter!

Sleeping Bunny

I borrowed this stamp from my friend - believe it or not, I don't really have a lot of Easter stamps!  I used white for the card base, added a layer of light purple cardstock, a layer of green/purple pattern paper and rounded the bottom corners.  The bunny is stamped on white and colored with Copics; I cut the image using nestabilities and placed it on 3D foam squares.  I stamped the sentiment and added the ribbon.

Easter Doodad

It wouldn't be a holiday if I didn't make a doodad!  This year I wanted to make something that isn't candy since we all get so much candy over the Easter holidays.  My crafting friend showed me these "carrots" filled with Pepperidge Farm Goldfish and I thought they were perfect!

I used clear cone bags and filled them with 55 goldfish (one serving), tied the tops with 6 strips of ribbon, curling it to make it look like a carrot top.  I added the "Happy Easter" tag (made in yellow, pink and purple) for the center of the doodad.  Love these!

Easter Bunnies

This is one of my favorite Easter cards this year!  I used white for the card base and layered it with a purple striped paper that I embossed with the Cuttlebug. I added two layers of grass in light and dark green and placed the bunnies slightly apart.  The bunnies were edged with a bit of tea dye ink; I also tied a ribbon around their necks and added the pompom tails.

The sign was made with two oval nestabilities; I paper pierced the scallops and made the sentiment on the computer.  I placed the sign on 3D foam squares on a strip of light tan cardstock for the pole.  My last step was adding the assorted eggs. This was really fun to make!

First Easter

I see these "bunny fence" cards all over Pinterest so thought I'd try to make my own.  I used white for the card base and layered it with a light blue sky color.  I cut a few strips of grass and put that on the card.  I stamped the flower stems and diecut the flowers.  Next, I diecut the fence - it wasn't as high as I wanted so I cut additional dies and stacked them on top to get the right height.

I made the rabbit's body and feet using circle and oval nestabilities, edging around them in a light pink ink.  The ears were made with a Sizzlet rabbit head that I cut off the ears.  The rabbit is popped up on 3D foam squares.  I added the ribbon around the fence, the gems to the flowers and the button on the sun.

My friend wanted her granddaughter's name on the card so I thought it would be cute to put it on a cloud.  I generated the sentiment on the computer and diecut it with a cloud die.  My last step was adding the pompom for the bunny's tail.

Easter Rabbit

My crafting friend sent me a bunch of Tim Holtz rabbit diecuts and this is one of them.  Doesn't it really look like a chocolate rabbit?  I used Plum Pudding for the card base and layered it with Spring Moss and 5 strips of a matching pattern paper.  I diecut a scalloped circle, paper pierced the scallops and added the sentiment (made on the computer) on white.  I added a googly eye, Lilac twine and pompom to the rabbit and placed him on 3D foam squares.  The card looked too plain so I added the plum triangles to the corners.  A nice Easter card for a boy.

12th Birthday

I had to think about what to do for a 12th birthday - can't make it too babyish or too old.  But I know little girls like ribbon and bling!  I used white for the card base and added a layer of pink.  The next layer is a patterned paper; I added the brown scalloped border on the top and bottom.  I cut the 12 and Sarah using dies.  The cupcakes are a dimensional sticker placed on layers of pink and brown; I paper pierced the brown scallops.  To jazz it up a bit I added the gems to the middles of the pink flowers and the bottom and top of the cake plate.  It still needed something else so I tied a bow at the bottom of the cake plate.

Happy Easter (CAS #3)

It won't be long and Easter will be here!  My craft friend sent me a card similar to this, and I thought "how easy"!  So I made this quick CAS Easter card using scraps of paper.  I used Plum Pudding or Spring Moss cardstock for the card base and added 3 strips of one inch wide paper.  I wrapped Honeydew or Lilac twine around the card, stamped the sentiment onto a diecut and adhered it with a couple foam dots.  That's it!

Happy Birthday

I really like this Rosie Posie stamp set from PTI - I'm getting a  lot of use out of it!  For this card I used Hawaiian Shores cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the rose and leaf images onto white cardstock and ran it through the Cuttlebug using a linen impression plate.  Next I distressed around the edges with my paper distressor.  I used Spring Moss cardstock for the banner, stamped the sentiment and adhered it with pop up dots.  Last steps were adding the white twine and two pearls to each of the roses.
