Take Three: On Your Birthday

I really like the Take Three die from PTI and was in the mood to make another Spring-like card.  For this I used white for the card base, and then a layer of Orange Zest and Summer Sunrise that I ran through the cuttlebug using a Linen template.  I stamped the flower and butterfly images, colored them with Copics and then cut them so they would fit into the "windows". I wrapped some coordinating twine around the card and added the sentiment.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI All About You Additions, Take Three Summer
  • Paper:  PTI Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, White Stampers Select
  • Tools:  PTI Take Three Die, Linen & Canvas Impression Plate, Tags Trio Nestabilities

Watering Can

I can't wait until the Spring flowers start to bloom, but in the meantime, it's fun to make Spring-like cards.  This uses a Lockhart stamp called "Delphinium & Peony", colored with Copics.  I used white for the card base and topped it with a light grey.  The stamp image was cut with nestabilities and I added ribbon and pearls for embellishments.

Card Details:

  • Paper:  Reflections
  • Tools:  Large Oval Deckled Nestabilities

Just A Note

I just received my March PTI goodies in the mail and of course couldn't wait to start using them!  This simple card was made with the Flower Fusion #1 stamp set.  I used White Stamper's Select cardstock for the card and scored 3 lines along the bottom with my Scor-Pal.  Next I stamped the flowers, adding a paper button to the middle of them and edged around the card with a light purple ink.  I tied twine around the card and added a little 'tiny tag' with "just a note" on it.  This stamp set is just too cute and only $5!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Flower Fusion #1, Tiny Tags
  • Paper:  PTI White Stamper's Select
  • Tools:  Scor-Pal, PTI Tiny Tags Die, Sizzlet Button Die
  • Other:  Twine

Spring Is Here!

The winter seems to me like it went by really fast this year.....maybe it's just because I'm getting older!  Since today is the first day of Spring, I felt like making a Spring-like card.  I used Kraft for the card base and edged it with Fresh Snow ink.  I cut the butterflies from scraps of paper I had on hand and added Liquid Pearls to the centers.  I stamped the sentiment, mounted the butterflies on doilies made with a Martha Stewart punch and added some coordinating twine.  Happy Spring!

Paintball Anyone?

This card is for a 12 year old boy who loves paintball, and of course, what kid doesn't text these days?  So a perfect combination.  The card base is Blueberry Sky, topped with a layer of black.  I made the "paint splashes" by using my color spritzer tool that I bought from QVC ages ago!  I really don't think I ever used it before (insert blushing face here!) but it came in handy for this card.  I tied some purple and white twine around the card and added the HB2U (Happy Birthday to You in text....) and rounded the corners.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Blueberry Sky
  • Tools:  Color Spritzer Tool, Large Pinking Circle Nestabilities, Corner Rounder

Masculine Striped Birthday

Doesn't the color combo of brown and green just say "masculine"?  I used dark brown as the card base and topped it with a layer of light brown and a layer of striped pattern paper. The sentiment is stamped  in brown on a die cut made with Fillable Frames #4, outlined with green ink and mounted on 3D foamies for dimension.  I added the dark green borders at the top and bottom and embellished them with tiny gold balls.

Up, Up & Away Birthday

Since I already had the Everyday Button Bits stamp set out, I decided to use it again for my next card.  I used Aqua Mist for the card base and topped it with a layer of white and matching Aqua Mist Everyday Blessings patterned paper.  I stamped the balloon baskets and sentiment in brown, adhered the buttons, a strip of Spring Moss (to make it look like the ground) and mounted it on another piece of Spring Moss. For the final touch I wrapped some brown twine around the bottom.  Happy Birthday Denis!

Sending Birthday Wishes

I can't take credit for this card, I saw it in the Mar/Apr 2010 issue of Paper Crafts, designed by Becky Oehlers.  Once I saw it, I knew I wanted to make it and who was going to get it.  The card base is Pure Poppy, topped with layers of Lemon Tart and white.  The "hills" are circles made with assorted patterned papers and paper pierced; the edges are curled up for dimension.  The sun was made from a Sizzix die, I stamped the trees and adhered the buttons.  I added the rows of scallops, the ribbon and finally the chick mounted on 3d foamies.  Happy Birthday Debbie!

35th Birthday

Sometimes I think I'm getting better at making male birthday cards because this card idea came to me rather quickly!  I used Spring Rain for the card base and layered it with brown and polka dot papers.  I cut a Mat Stack 3 die and stamped it with brown ink.  Fine Linen was a perfect match to the polka dots so I used it for the scalloped circle and the banner.  I cut the 35 on the Cricut, stamped the sentiment and added the metallic stars.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Rain, DCWV
  • Tools:  Cricut, Standard & Circle Nestabilities, PTI Double Ended Banner Die; Mat Stack 3 Die, Corner Rounder
