My Friend

I just sent a craft "goodie" package to a friend of mine and wanted to include a card.  The card base is Pure Poppy; I used Card Edgers #1 to create the fancy right hand side. When I stamped the flowers, I did half of the flowers with fully inked stamps and the other half I didn't apply as much ink, which makes it look like 2 different shades of red (even though it's the same color red ink).  I stamped the sentiment, added twine and my favorite bee!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Botanical Silhouettes (2010 Anniversary Set)
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, Stamper's Select White
  • Tools:  PTI Card Edgers #1
  • Other:  Twine, Jolee's Stickers
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Flowers & Vines

PTI had challenges all day Saturday for their stamp-A-faire retreat.  Challenge #4 was to use colors:  Ripe Avocado, Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores and Enchanted Evening.  What a great color combo!

I used Enchanted Evening for the card base and topped it with Stamper's Select White.  I stamped the flowers (adding cantaloupe ink to the centers), vines and sentiment.  The card looked too plain to me so I added 1/4" scor-tape around the edges and sprinkled it with glitter.  Happy Birthday Aunt Rose!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments, Flower Fusion #6, Turning A New Leaf
  • Paper:  PTI Enchanted Evening, Stamper's Select White
  • Tools:  PTI Flower Fusion #6 Die
  • Other:  Scor-Tape, Martha Stewart Glitter
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Christmas in July!

Hard to believe Christmas is just 5 months away now....we crafters need to get busy now making our holiday things!  It's been so hot here the last week (and my air conditioner broke too....) that I've been thinking about cold weather and snow and will be happy when the summer is over!

I used Enchanted Evening as the card base and topped it with a layer of white, randomly stamped with snowflakes in 3 different colors (dark blue, light blue, silver).  I added a piece of Spring Rain stamped with "Joy" and a few more snowflakes.  A navy blue ribbon and crystals on the snowflakes finish off the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Snowflake Serenade, Holiday Treats
  • Paper:  PTI Enchanted Evening, Spring Rain, Stampers' Select White
  • Tools:  Labels Seven Nestabilities
  • Other:  Crystals, Sheer Creations Ribbon
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Get Well Soon

I saw this card on Nichole's blog and never thought to use the teacup as a planter! I'm always amazed at the creativity of people!  I used Dark Chocolate as the card base, and topped it with a lemon/chocolate polka dot paper and a layer of Lemon Tart.  The flower stem was made with Flower Fusion #4 and the flower cut with felt using Flower Fusion #3 and potted into the teacup, which is raised on pop up dots.  I added the sentiment, crystal flower center and the bee!  This is one of my favorite cards!

90th Birthday!

I made these cards for twins who were turning 90 - yes, 90!  I decided to make the same exact card for each twin, using pink for the woman and blue for the man.  I used white for the card base and topped it with a layer of black and a layer of polka dot.  I made the tickets, stamping the birthday sentiments and cutting out their names with Sizzix letters.  The "90" was made with PTI's By The Numbers dies and placed on a diecut along with a few adhesive stars.  I added the border edge, twine and lots of stars with silver balls in the centers.

Best Wishes

One of  the ladies in my craft group is moving to Panama the end of this month so I made her this card from all of us.  I wanted the card to be tropical colors and what I think she'll be doing there most of the time - I hope I got it right!  lol

This stamp set, PTI's A Day At The Beach, has been sitting on my shelf for a long, long time and never used.....perfect for this card!!  I used Kraft for the card base and topped it with a piece of yellow pattern paper and a piece of Raspberry Fizz.  I sponged blue and beige ink on white paper to create the sky and beach.  I stamped the umbrella and flip flops and cut them out for a bit of dimension.  Next I randomly stamped some starfish and added the margarita glass, encrusted with 'diamond dust' to look like salt.   I stamped the sun with a button, the sentiment with few dew drops and added the sunglasses and twine.  Carol paints and I happened to have a painter's palette....of course she'll be painting on the beach!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI A Day At The Beach, Botanical Silhouettes
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Raspberry Fizz, Stamper's Select White
  • Tools:  Tag Trio Nestabilities
  • Other:  "Water" Dew Drops, Copics, Twine, Diamond Dust, Recollections Dimensional Stickers

60th Birthday

I seem to be making a lot of milestone birthdays this year! This was for a man, so I needed to use more masculine colors, and you know how men like blue and brown!  The card base is brown, topped with a layer of white and a patterned stripe paper.  The '60' was made with PTI's By The Numbers dies (I get so much use out of this set!) and layered on pinking circles.  I added the sentiment, the corners and a few stars to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  Stampin' Up, Bazzill, PTI Hawaiian Shores
  • Tools:  PTI By The Numbers Dies, Pinking Circles Nestabilities, Square Nestabilities, Sizzix Corners

Celebrate Today

PTI ended their Year of Flowers series by releasing a Collection set, which are miniatures of the original set.  Nice to use when you want a smaller flower on something.  I used white for the card base and topped it with a layer of Melon Berry, cutting out the window with Mat Stack 3.  I stamped and colored the mums with Copics, adding glitter to it.  Hard to see, but I scored at line at the top of the card and two lines at the bottom, placing the sentiment, stamped on vellum, between the two lines.  Final touches were a couple crystals and the flourish in the corner.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Year of Flowers Collection, Think Big Favorites #4
  • Paper:  PTI Melon Berry, Sweet Blush; Vellum
  • Tools:  PTI Mat Stack 3, Scor-Pal

Communion

I was looking through my Cuttlebug embossing folders and this one reminded me of a church window so I decided to make a Communion card with it.  The card base is white embossed with the "Window Pane" embossing folder. The cross a Jolee's sticker, placed on top of two layers cut with Labels Four nestabilities.  Naturally the card still needed something else so I added the pearls and ribbon.  It was a quick card to make but looks elegant.

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Stamper's White Select
  • Tool:  Cuttlebug "Window Pane" Embossing Folder, Labels Four Nestabilities
  • Other:  Pearls, Ribbon, Jolee's Stickers
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

I'm still playing with some of my PTI stamps - this is from Flower Fusion #1 and Flower Fusion #2.  I used Kraft for the card base and topped it with a piece of Hibiscus Burst card stock.  I stamped the leaves and then added the flowers; - first I die cut patterned paper and then die cut coaster and glued them together to give the flowers some stability.  I added the grass border at the bottom, twine, crystals for the flower centers, sentiment, and there's that bee again!

The card base is True Black, topped with a layer of Raspberry Fizz pattern paper.  The flower image is stamped on Kraft and outlined with Fresh Snow ink.  I added the sentiment, black crystals for the flower centers, a few banner tails and adhesive black dots.  This technique was easy to do - to see how to do it, click here:  Make It Monday #21  Happy Birthday Roro!
