Birthday Wishes

PTI just released a "mega" set of vase stamps and coordinating dies.  I already have the small set of vases so didn't want to buy the bigger set, but thought I would get use of the mega vases.

I used Kraft for the card base and edged around it with white ink, rounding the right hand corners.  I cut a piece of polka dot paper and adhered it to the Kraft and cut the vase in the matching paper.

I stamped a few leaves onto Rustic White cardstock, rounding all four corners, ran it through the Cuttlebug with my Linen Impression plate and attached the vase.  I die cut the flowers and stamped them with Turquoise Gem ink and Cantaloupe centers and adhered them to the white cardstock, placing the middle one on foam tape for dimension.

I did cut the banner (love this banner!) and stamped the sentiment.  I placed the banner on foam tape for dimension and added a small pearl on each side.  My last step was adding the Caribbean twine.  I liked this style card so much I made one in pink and one in green!

Thanks For All You Do

I can't get enough of this Natural Beauties set!  Starting with white cardstock, I stamped the flowers in two colors of purple ink, Spring Pansy and Purple Pearlescent.  I added the green leaves in Aloe Vera ink and the flower centers and small flowers in cantaloupe ink.  I rounded the bottom corners and adhered it to a piece of Winter Wisteria cardstock.

Next, I cut a strip of vellum and stamped the sentiment onto it in Stazon black ink.  The vellum is adhered behind the white cardstock with scor-tape.  Such pretty colors!

Hello Friend

I'm trying to stamp more "background type" cards instead of using patterned paper.  It's really a lot of fun and amazing what you can create with just stamps!

For this card I used a circle from Shapes by Design and randomly stamped it onto white cardstock in Cantaloupe and Tangelo inks. I added the set of three little circles in Pear Tart ink and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

I ran the white cardstock through the Cuttlebug with my Linen Impression plate and rounded the right hand corners.  I adhered it to Summer Sunrise cardstock and added Honeydew twine on the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Shapes By Design, Think Big Favorites #3, Harvest Berries
  • Paper:  PTI Summer Sunrise, White Stampers Select
  • Tools:  PTI Linen & Canvas Impression Plate; Corner Rounder; Cuttlebug
  • Other:  Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Celebrate

I saw a card similar to this in the July 2012 issue of CardMaker magazine.  This is a great way to use some of those scraps you have laying around!  I used Kraft cardstock for the card base and then added 5 strips of assorted scrap paper cut to 1-1/2" x 3-7/8", placing them at angles on the card.

I die cut the banner, stamped it with "celebrate" and adhered it to the card.  Next, I die cut the package and bow from PTI's Make A Wish, adhered it on a piece of Vintage Cream cardstock, die cut using nestabilities, and placed it on foam tape for dimension.

To jazz up the card a bit, I added the denim twine and silver star.  You could get rid of a lot of scraps making this card!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI It's A Celebration
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Vintage Cream, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening; DCWV
  • Tools:  PTI Make A Wish Die, Double Ended Banner Die; Labels 22 Nestabilities
  • Other:  Twine; Adhesive Star
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

This was a quick card to make!  I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base and randomly stamped the Mendhi pattern onto white cardstock, using Aquatic Splash, Pink Grapefruit and Dandelion inks.

The diecut was made from Fillable Frames #10; I stamped aqua around the edge, added the sentiment and placed it on foam tape for dimension.  I tied Buttercream twine around the card as the last step.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Mehndi Medallion, Birthday Bash Sentiments, Fillable Frames #10
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, White Stampers Select

Happy Birthday To You

My friend Jill really likes white on white cards so I made this one especially for her (and it gave me a chance to use my new Lovely Layers stamp set!).

I started with white cardstock for the card base and added another layer of white cardstock that I ran through the Cuttlebug with my striped impression plate.

Next, I cut three strips of 3-1/2" x 1-1/4" white cardstock and stamped them with the flowers and leaves, stamping the leaves twice to give them a shadow effect.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink on the bottom strip.

I mounted the 3 strips onto foam tape for dimension and adhered them to the card.  I added clear gems to the flower centers and a little bit of glitter on the flowers to complete the card.  Happy Birthday Jill!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Lovely Layers, Turning A New Leaf, Gracious Vases
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Tools:  PTI Simple Stripes Impression Plate
  • Other:  Gems; Foam Tape; Martha Stewart Glitter
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

sending birthday wishes

This is a new set from PTI called Fabulous Frames.  I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base and added a layer of yellow pattern paper.  The next layers are Aqua Mist polka dots, Lemon Tart in the middle  and another layer of Aqua Mist polka dots. These were all die cut using the Fabulous Frames dies.  I die cut the butterfly, adhered it to the frames, adding two gold gems in the middle.

I stamped the sentiment onto a double ended banner, cutting off the left tail.  I stamped the sentiment and placed another gold gem next to it.  Finally, I wrapped Buttercream twine around the card and tied a little bow.

  • Stamps:  PTI Everyday Button Bits
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist Pattern Pack; DCWV

happy happy birthday

I thought it was time to make another "watercolor" card using Tim Holtz distress inks.  I used Simply Chartreuse cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the flower and leaves onto watercolor paper in Versamark, sprinkled it with white embossing powder and embossed it with a heat gun.

I used Victorian Velvet and Festive Berries distress inks to color the roses and Shabby Shutters for the leaves, applying them with a makeup sponge.  After inking, I sprayed water on the image using a mister and let it dry for a few hours.

Once dry, I stamped the "happy happy birthday".  I placed the watercolor paper onto a layer of black cardstock.  I added the tulle around the spine which completed the card.  I really like this color green and black together!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI In Bloom, Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Simply Chartreuse, True Black
  • Tools:  Heat Gun
  • Other:  Tim Holtz Distress Inks; Embossing Powder; Tulle

Baby Carriage

I don't think I used this baby stamp before, and if I did, it's been a long time!  I used white cardstock for the card base and added a layer of pink cardstock and a layer of pink/green pattern paper, rounding the bottom corners.  Of course I made a matching boy card using blue cardstock and blue/green pattern paper.

I stamped the carriage on white cardstock and colored it with Copics.  The stamped image was placed on a scalloped rectangle cut from pink cardstock and I pierced the scallops.  The entire image was mounted on foam tape for dimension.  Last steps were adding the button threaded with ribbon tied in a bow and the sentiment.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Lockhart Baby Carriage; PTI Take Three Summer
  • Paper:  DCWV; Me & My Big Ideas
  • Tools:  Standard & Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities; Paper Piercer; Corner Rounder

A Very Happy Birthday 2 You

I wanted to use the quatrefoil cover plate again, but this time for a male card.  I used Kraft cardstock for the card base and die cut the quatrefoil in Rustic Cream cardstock and attached it to the Kraft.  I die cut more of the quatrefoil shapes in Blueberry Sky and Enchanted Evening, and created a pattern with them, adding in some of the Rustic Cream cut outs.

I used Framed Out #1 to create the sentiment, cutting it in Blueberry Sky and Rustic Cream and adhering it with foam tape for dimension.  The sentiment is stamped in a matching light blue.  And I added just a bit of jute on the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Framed Out #1
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Rustic Cream
  • Tools:  PTI Quatrefoil Coverplate, Framed Out #1 Die
  • Other:  Jute
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday (CAS #16)

I wanted to make a quick card using Lace Bouquet.  I used Melon Berry for the card base and cut the right side using Card Edgers #1.  I cut a piece of Vintage Cream with the edgers and stamped it with the flower image from Lace Bouquet in pink grapefruit ink.

I stamped the happy birthday sentiment and added the ribbon on the spine.  My last step was adding pearls to the flowers using Cream Pearl Pen.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Lace Bouquet, Botanical Silhouettes
  • Paper: PTI Melon Berry, Vintage Cream
  • Tools:  PTI Card Edgers #1
  • Other:  Cream Pearl Pen; Ribbon
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Christening

There are a lot of uses for this Nestabilities cross set and I used two of them to make these girl and boy Christening cards.  I used Sweet Blush/Spring Rain for the card base, rounding the bottom corners.  I ran a piece of white through the Cuttlebug, using my Window Pane embossing folder, and again rounded the bottom two corners.

Next I cut out two crosses and layered them on top of each other; the top one is on foam tape for dimension.  I added four pearls to the top cross and tied sheer, white ribbon around the bottom.  A simple card to make but looks very elegant.

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Sweet Blush, Spring Rain, White Stamper's Select
  • Tools:  Crosses Two Nestabilities; Window Pane Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Pearls; Ribbon; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Enjoy Your Special Day

I have a new favorite stamp set - Natural Beauties - this was a free set PTI offered on their Stamp-a-faire day with a $100 purchase. The flowers on this set are so delicate looking with lots of shading and dimension.  I've been using it like crazy!

For this card, I used Hawaiian Shores for the card base and stamped the two sizes of the main flower in turquoise gem ink and the leaves in aloe vera ink.  The flower centers and little flowers were stamped in cantaloupe ink.  I stamped the sentiment in black.

The card looked fine to me but then I thought adding a few butterflies would add a nice touch to the card.  The butterflies were made from the punch outs from my Martha Stewart border punch.  I added a small gem to the center of each to complete the card.  Love this set!!!!!!!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Natural Beauties, Beautiful Butterflies
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, White Stamper's Select
  • Tools:  Martha Stewart Butterfly Border Punch
  • Other:  Gems
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Banner Birthday

I haven't used this stamp set for a long time so it was time to dust it off.  I used Pure Poppy cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the banners and the sentiment on white rustic cardstock and ran it through the Cuttlebug with my Linen Impression Plate.  I rounded the corners on the bottom.

Next, I stamped additional banners in matching inks on a separate piece of white paper.  I cut them out and adhered them to every other banner on the card, placing foam tape underneath to give the card a bit of dimension.  Without doing that, the card seemed a little too blah to me - I like it much better this way!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI It's A Celebration, Think Big Favorites #12
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, White Rustic
  • Tools:  PTI Linen Impression Plate; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
  • Use What I Have:  Haven't used It's A Celebration for a long time

Just Wanted To Say Hello

My friend's daughter is away at camp and she asked me if I would send her a card while she's there so she gets some mail.  I just bought this "telephone" stamp set and thought it would make a cute card for her.

I used Simply Chartreuse for the card base and added a layer of telephone pattern paper, rounding the bottom corners. My friend (thank you Jill!!!!) gave me this telephone paper a while ago and it goes perfectly with the telephone stamp set!

I die cut the spiral notebook page and stamped the paper clip and sentiment onto it.  Next, I die cut the telephone, stamped it in green and red inks and adhered it with foam tape.  I added a piece of Charcoal twine for the phone cord.  For my last step, I placed the notebook page onto another piece of Chartreuse paper and added a gem to the phone dial center.  I think it turned out pretty cute!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Heart-2-Heart #4, Take Note
  • Paper:  PTI Simply Chartreuse; Jillibean Butter Beans
  • Tools:  PTI Heart-2-Heart #4 Die, Spiral Notebook Die; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Twine, Gem
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
