Thank You (CAS #27)

Each time I get a new PTI stamp set in the mail, it has these circle images at the top of the package and I wanted to replicate it.  So that's where the inspiration from this card came from.

I stamped the five circle scribbles in five different inks across the middle of the card, stamping the sentiment right over top of them.  I rounded the bottom corners and the card was done - can't get any simpler than this!

Maybe next time I'll make the same card but die-cut the scribbles!

  • Ink:  PTI Aqua Mist; Memento Pear Tart, Cantaloupe, Tangelo, Memento Black; Tim Holtz Evergreen Bough

Happy Anniversary

This is similar to a card I posted before using chalks.  I liked it so much I decided to do it a little different for this anniversary card.

I started with a white card base and added a layer of Sweet Blush striped paper, leaving a small edge on both sides.  Next, I cut a smaller piece of white cardstock, impressed it with my Linen Impression Plate and rounded the corners.  I used various colors of chalk to color in the background - I think it looks so pretty and the impressed paper helps to "hug" the chalk.

I stamped the flower and leaf images, using a two step process directly on top of the chalk.  I stamped the sentiment at the bottom, tied white sheer ribbon around the card and sprinkled a little glitter on the flowers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2, Keep It Simple: Anniversary
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Sweet Blush Stripes
  • Ink:  PTI Pure Poppy, Spring Moss, Smokey Shadow; Memento Rosebud, Pistachio
  • Tools:  PTI Canvas & Linen Impression Plate Die; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Glitter; Ribbon; Chalk

Happy Birthday

I saw a card that used tissue paper on it and wanted to give it a try.  I don't really like it that much - I'm not sure if it's the tissue paper or the ink colors I selected.

I used a watercolor technique on this card - but first I scored the watercolor paper into blocks.  I wet the paper and applied watered down ink, letting it run in the water to create the watercolor look.  I die-cut the butterfly and applied the same inks to it so it would match.

The watercolor panel is attached to a white cardstock card base.  Before I attached the butterfly, I ripped a couple pieces of white tissue paper and adhered them to the card.  The butterfly is attached with a small piece of foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment and added a few white sequins.  This is not one of my favorite cards.....

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Keep It Simple: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select; Bristol Smooth Watercolor
  • Ink:  Tim Holtz Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade, Shabby Shutters; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Memory Box Vivienne Butterfly Die; Scor-Pal
  • Other:  Tissue Paper; Sequins; Foam Tape

September Birthday

Today is the first day of Fall - my favorite time of year!

This is a quick card I made by stamping leaves on Vintage Cream cardstock in Spring Moss and Kraft inks.  I stamped the sentiment right over the leaves in Kraft ink and adhered it to a Kraft cardstock card base.

To finish the card I tied brown twine around the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Leave It Be, Birthday Classics: September
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Vintage Cream
  • Ink:  PTI Spring Moss, Kraft
  • Other:  Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

I don't seem to use very much pattern paper and I have sooo much of it!

I started with a white cardstock card base and added a layer of green plaid paper.  I die-cut the spiral notebook page in white cardstock and placed it on top.

Next, I die-cut the stitched stars in Hawaiian Shores, Spring Moss and white, placing the largest star on thin foam tape for a little dimension.

The birthday was die-cut in a piece of paper that I used a watercolor technique on, but wasn't happy with the way it turned out.  I saved it thinking I might be able to use it for something later, and die-cutting a word was perfect.  It sort of has an ombre look to it.  I stamped "happy" above it in black ink to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Classics: June
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Hawaiian Shores, Spring Moss; Brenda Walton Small Wonders Girl
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Spiral Notebook Page Die, Wonderful Words: Birthday Die; Lil Inker Designs Stitched Stars
  • Other:  Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Celebrate

Playing with chalk again for this card.  I knew I wanted to use Aqua Mist and Melon Berry as the two colors, and luckily I found two chalk colors that were close in color.

I embossed a piece of white cardstock with geometric rings and blended the chalk on the paper in a somewhat, organized pattern.  Once happy with it, I adhered the panel to an Aqua Mist cardstock card base.

I die-cut the sentiment using a new die from PTI called Block Talk.  I die-cut it twice, once in Aqua Mist and once in Melon Berry and pieced it together.  The block is on foam tape for dimension.

I didn't like it so much because it looked too plain.  I thought adding stars would help and die-cut the stars using the Super Stars Border die.  I placed alternate rows of stars in the two colors and liked it much better - it looks much more festive now!

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, Melon Berry, White Stampers Select
  • Tools:  PTI Block Talk Die, Super Stars Border Die; Darice Geometric Rings Embossing Folder
  • Other:  Pearlescent Chalk; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Thanks

Once again, I'm using an embossing folder and watercolor technique for this card.

Using a basket weave embossing folder, I dabbed Salty Ocean and Scattered Straw distress paint on it.  Once I had the paint where I wanted it, I spritzed it with water and placed a piece of watercolor paper on it, gently pressing the paper into the paint.

When it was dry, I adhered it to an Enchanted Evening cardstock card base.  I die-cut the thanks in the same blue cardstock and placed it on an angle.

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Enchanted Evening; 140# Watercolor
  • Tools:  PTI Wet Paint Cuts Die; Darice Basketweave Background Embossing Folder
  • Other:  Tim Holtz Salty Ocean, Scattered Straw Distress Paint
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday To You

I haven't used this stamp set, Topiary Trio very much so I thought it would be nice to make a card with it.

I die-cut the topiary in white cardstock, stamping the pot and branches in Kraft ink.  I die-cut the topiary again in Spring Moss cardstock and placed it on top of the white die-cut.  The leaves are lifted on the topiary to give it dimension.

I took a piece of Lemon Tart cardstock and a piece of white cardstock and impressed them with my Simple Stripes Impression Plate, placing both on a white cardstock card base.  The topiary is adhered on foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment in matching Kraft ink to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Topiary Trio
  • Paper:  PTI Lemon Tart, White Stampers Select, Spring Moss
  • Ink:  PTI Kraft
  • Tools:  PTI Topiary Trio Dies, Simple Stripes Impression Plate Die; Deckled Rectangles Nestabilities

Happy Summer Birthday

This is another card I made with Lawn Fawn "Happy Summer", similar to the card I posted in July.  The ants crack me up!

I placed the red and white check paper on a white cardstock card base.  I stamped the watermelon chunks on white paper and colored them with Copics.  I cut them out and placed them on a white square, layered on a black scalloped square.  I stamped the sentiment and the ants, adding the hearts to the ant on top of the watermelon.  He is king of the hill and in love with the idea of eating all that sweet watermelon!  lol

I added a little glitter to the watermelon and tied watermelon twine around the card.  To complete the card, I rounded the bottom corners.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Classics: February, Propose A Toast; Lawn Fawn Happy Summer
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, White Stampers Select; DCWV Spring Fling & Summer Days
  • Ink:  PTI Pure Poppy; Memento Tuxedo Black

At This Difficult Time

Was in the mood to make a sympathy card and to use some of my endless rolls of washi tape!

I placed the washi tape diagonally across a piece of white cardstock, wrapping the tape around the back of it.  Washi tape is so easy to work with!  I stamped the sentiment in black ink and placed the panel on a black cardstock card base.

The butterfly is die-cut in Hawaiian Shores felt; the antennae is in black cardstock.  I placed a little square of foam tape under each wing to keep them lifted off the paper.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Words of Comfort
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Memory Box Isabella Die
  • Other:  PTI Hawaiian Shores Felt; Washi Tape; Foam Tape

Happy Birthday (CAS #26)

This is another card made with a stencil.

I placed the stencil on top of a piece of white cardstock and using a dauber and distress inks, colored in the circles with three colors.  I stamped the sentiment in coordinating dark blue ink.

The panel is on an Enchanted Evening cardstock card base.  Flax twine wrapped around the spine finishes off the card.  Another quick masculine card!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Think Big Favorites #13
  • Paper:  PTI Enchanted Evening, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Tim Holtz Antique Linen, Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass Distress
  • Other:  Tim Holtz Splatters Stencil; Twine

Celebrate your Day

I think I bought this cityscape die last year - I saw a few cards made with it, and well, I had to have it.  Impulse buying at it's best.  A year later, I'm still struggling with what to do with it!  lol  But I wanted to use it and here's the result.

I die-cut the cityscape in three different colors of cardstock - light green, light blue and medium blue and staggered them on a piece of white cardstock.  I placed the panel on a piece of medium blue cardstock, layered on a white cardstock card base.

I die-cut the bubble talk and stamped the sentiment, placing the bubble on foam tape over the top of one of the buildings.  The "sky" was too empty so I added confetti in the sky to make it a bit more festive.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI It's A Celebration, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select; Darice Minty Fresh
  • Ink:  PTI Smokey Shadow; Memento Teal Zeal, New Sprout
  • Tools:  PTI Bubble Talk Die; Memory Box Cityscape Nightline
  • Other:  Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

I wanted to try a new technique today - using a stencil and embossing.

I placed the mesh stencil on top of a piece of white cardstock, taping it down on the sides so it didn't move.  Next, I stamped VersaMark directly on the mesh by turning the stamp pad upside down, creating a pattern.  I sprinkled white Zing embossing powder over top of it and carefully lifted the stencil off.  I heated the embossing powder with my heat gun and was so happy with the way it turned out!

The butterflies are die-cut in Hibiscus Burst pattern paper and again in vellum for a layered look.  I placed a little bit of foam tape under each wing to make them dimensional.  The sentiment is stamped in coordinating ink on a die-cut banner.  Adding iridescent sequins was a perfect match to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Keep It Simple: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Hibiscus Burst, Hibiscus Burst Damask; Vellum
  • Ink:  PTI Hibiscus Burst; VersaMark
  • Tools:  PTI Initial Thoughts Die; Memory Box Rhone Butterfly Die, Memory Box Effera Butterfly Die; Memory Box Textured Mesh Stencil
  • Other:  Zing Embossing Powder; Foam Tape; Sequins
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Bundle Of Joy

It's been a while since I posted a baby card!

I die-cut the onesie in striped pattern paper and again in coaster for support.  I stamped the outline of the outfit in blue ink, added the sentiment and the two tiny silver brads at the bottom as snaps.

On a Kraft cardstock card base, I added a layer of the matching striped paper, stamping the sentiment at the bottom.  I placed a doily on top and the onesie, on foam tape for dimension.

To complete the card, I tied Flax twine around the bottom.  I really like the way this turned out and will probably make one for a girl next.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Bitty Baby Blessings, Congratulations
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft; DCWV
  • Ink:  PTI Enchanted Evening
  • Tools:  PTI Bitty Baby Blessings Die
  • Other:  Doily; Twine; Coaster; Foam Tape; Brads

Happy Birthday

September already....where did August go?  The days seem to be going by faster and faster.

I made this card with an inked up embossing folder I had leftover from another card.  This is where I applied paint to an embossing folder, spritzed it with water, placed the watercolor paper on top and gently pressed on it.  And you get this really soft look.

The happy is die-cut in Pure Poppy cardstock using "one-liners" - isn't this a nice look?  I adhered it to the card and added birthday underneath in black ink.  I rounded the right corner and placed the panel on a Pure Poppy cardstock card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy; Watercolor 140#
  • Ink:  Tim Holtz Festive Berries, Ripe Persimmon Distress Inks; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI One Liners: Happy Die; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Darice Swirl Embossing Folder
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
