November Birthdays Are The Best!

Sneaking this card in under the wire for November.  I needed to make a masculine card and wanted to use more seasonal colors instead of pastel and selected wine and grey.

I used Scarlet Jewel cardstock for the card base and placed a layer of Soft Stone stripes pattern paper on top. Next, I die-cut Journal Card #5 in white cardstock and also hand cut a piece of Soft Stone cardstock in the same size, rounding the corners to match the shape of the journal card.  I placed them on the card slightly overlapped and on an angle.

I die-cut November 3 times in Scarlet Jewel cardstock and glued them together for dimension.  The arrow is die-cut in Soft Stone cardstock, the sentiment stamped in Scarlet Jewel ink and placed on foam tape for additional dimension.

To finish the card I added some of my new favorite clear sequins, using both 4mm and 6mm.  These are the prettiest sequins I've ever seen!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Classics: March
  • Paper:  PTI Scarlet Jewel, Soft Stone, White Stampers Select; Soft Stone Stripes
  • Ink:  PTI Scarlet Jewel
  • Tools:  PTI Journal Card #5 Die, Monthly Moments: November Die, Monthly Moments: March Die; Corner Rounder

Happy Thanksgiving

And here's the second Thanksgiving card.  I liked dipping the leaves in gold so much that I decided to do it again.

I started with a Terracotta Tile cardstock card base and added a layer of leaves pattern paper from the Autumn Abundance paper pack.  The leaves are die-cut in Canyon Clay - I rubbed the edges in Versamark ink and sprinkled them with gold embossing powder.  I heat embossed it to get this great look.

The banner is die-cut in Vintage Cream cardstock and the sentiment stamped in dark brown ink.  I adhered the leaves, overlapping one and placing it on foam tape.  I tied ivory jute around the spine as the final touch.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Keep It Simple: Thanksgiving
  • Paper:  PTI Canyon Clay, Vintage Cream, Autumn Abundance
  • Ink:  PTI Dark Chocolate; Versamark
  • Tools:  PTI Leaf Print Dies, Sketched Shapes Die

Hello

One month until Christmas!  Yikes!

I made this for a friend of mine who was feeling a little down in the dumps and I thought it would cheer her up a bit.  I ran a piece of white cardstock through the Cuttlebug using my Quatrefoil impression plate and adhered it to Plum Pudding cardstock card base.

Next, I die-cut the flowers using purple pattern paper and the leaves using green pattern paper.  I stacked the flowers together, curling the edges to give them dimension and placed a silver brad in the middle to keep them together.  I die-cut the leaves and placed them under the flowers, curling the very edges for dimension.

Hello is die-cut in the same purple pattern paper and adhered to coaster for support and dimension.  I tied a light purple sheer ribbon around the card to complete it.

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Plum Pudding, White Stampers Select; Hot Off The Press
  • Tools:  PTI Quatrefoil Impression Plate Die, Wet Paint Cuts Die; Spellbinders Rose Creations Die
  • Other:  Coaster; Ribbon; Brads

Happy Birthday To You

It's been a while since I bought something from WPlus9, but when I saw this set I had to have it!  It has a lot of different types of flowers and leaves.

I stamped the flowers in Berry Sorbet ink and the leaves in Spring Moss ink, adding the flower centers in Harvest Gold ink.   The sentiment is stamped in black ink.  When I was finished stamping, I ran the panel through my Linen Impression plate to give it a little texture.

I trimmed a piece of the white off the bottom and adhered it to a Berry Sorbet cardstock card base.  I like that a little bit of the coordinating cardstock shows at the bottom.  I added glitter to the flower centers to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  WPlus9 Spring Blooms, Strictly Sentiments #5
  • Paper:  PTI Berry Sorbet, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Berry Sorbet, Spring Moss, Harvest Gold; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Linen Impression Plate Die
  • Other:  Glitter

Birthday Wishes

Stencils are big right now and I'm growing to like using them more and more.

For this card I used a chevron stencil, taping it over a piece of white cardstock and coloring it using a dauber and purple ink.  I didn't color in the entire stencil and created this random pattern.

I die-cut birthday in Plum Pudding cardstock three times, gluing them together to give the card a little dimension.  I placed it on an angle and stamped wishes underneath in black ink.  The panel was adhered to a Plum Pudding cardstock card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Wonderful Words: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Plum Pudding, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Sweet Plum, Tuxedo Black

On Your Wedding Day

I get tired of making the same wedding cards all the time and wanted to try something different.

This striped paper is from a pack of EK Success paper I got a long time ago - so time to use it!  I cut a panel slightly smaller to fit a 5x7 inch ivory card base.

Next, I die-cut the center bookmark in ivory shimmer paper and placed it on foam tape.  I have no idea where I got this shimmer paper, but it was a good match to the striped paper!  I die-cut the two champagne flutes twice, once in cream cardstock and once in coaster for support.  They're stamped in light tan ink and placed on foam tape.  I used a clear Wink Of Stella pen to add a little shimmer to the champagne in the flutes.

For the sentiment, I cut a 1/2" piece of paper and cut the tails on both ends.  Using my scor-pal, I scored the banner and folded it to make it dimensional.  The way I placed it on the card, the banner is actually curved.  The sentiment is stamped in Smokey Shadow ink so it's not as harsh as black.

To finish the card I added ivory pearls and a bow tied in sheer ivory wedding ribbon.  I was happy with the way this turned out and would probably make this design again.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Propose A Toast, Inside & Out: Love
  • Paper:  PTI Vintage Cream; EK Success; Shimmer
  • Ink:  PTI Smokey Shadow; Brilliance Pearlescent Beige
  • Tools:  PTI Propose A Toast Die, Basic Bookmark #3 Die
  • Other:  Ribbon; Pearls; Foam Tape; Clear Wink Of Stella
  • Card Size: 5.0" x 7.0"

Happy Birthday Champ

Isn't this a perfect birthday card for a football fanatic?

The football jersey is stamped in Ocean Tides ink with #1 fan stamped in black ink.  I stamped the football and the sentiment in Dark Chocolate ink.

Since there was so much space left on the card I decided to fill it in with stars and did so using a star stencil, which has all different sizes to choose from.  I stamped them in Ocean Tides and Kraft inks.  To help fill in more of the space, I cut a strip of Ocean Tides cardstock and placed it at the bottom.

The panel is adhered onto a Kraft cardstock card base and finished with brown twine around the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Football Frenzy
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Ocean Tides, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Ocean Tides, Kraft, Dark Chocolate; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Other:  Clear Scraps Star Stencil; Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

I had no idea how I was going to design this card, I just started out by stamping some of the flowers from Note Niblets.

I stamped the flowers in the center of the card, using Spring Moss ink for the stems and leaves and Rosebud ink for the flowers.  The crosses at the top are stamped in Kraft ink.

I originally had a stamped image under the flowers to represent a flower box, but decided to add a strip of Spring Moss cardstock instead, placing it on foam tape.  The scalloped strip at the top is die-cut with the die from Be Happy in Raspberry Fizz cardstock.

I placed the panel on a Spring Moss cardstock card base, rounding the bottom corners.  I added Pink Sorbet twine across the flower box and tiny gems for the flower centers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Note Niblets, Keep It Simple: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Moss, Raspberry Fizz, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Spring Moss, Kraft; Memento Rosebud, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Be Happy Die; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Twine; Gems; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Thank You

Using my Hexagon Impression plate and paper scraps to make this card.

I die-cut the hexagon background in white cardstock and adhered it to a white card base.  Next, using some scraps of assorted polka dot pattern paper, I die-cut and arranged them in a random design.  I placed the die-cut white hexagons back into the pattern as well.

The banner is die-cut in Aqua Mist cardstock, stamped with the sentiment and placed on foam tape for dimension.  This type of card is fun to make - sort of like putting a puzzle together!

  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Sending You Birthday Wishes

PTI's Phrase Play dies are becoming another favorite of mine - I'm starting to collect more than I thought I would!  lol  I like them because they make such a bold statement!

Using the Phrase Play die, I die-cut it in several steps, first cutting it in Kraft cardstock and then the additional wording and frame in Pure Poppy, White and Hawaiian Shores cardstock - I really like this color combination!  I placed it all back into the Kraft portion of the die.  I stamped the sentiment at the bottom and placed it on top of a stitched piece of white cardstock.

The stitched stars are die-cut in Hawaiian Shores cardstock and a few placed on foam tape for dimension.  The stars just make the card a little more festive looking!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Phrase Play #6 Stamps
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, Kraft, White Stampers Select, Hawaiian Shores
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Hello

I bought the entire stamp collection of Year of Flowers from PTI but rarely use them.  For this card I pulled out the Rose stamp from Year of Flowers Collection.

I placed a layer of Sweet Blush gingham pattern paper on a white cardstock card base.  Next, I stamped the rose on a piece of white cardstock and colored it with Copics.  I stamped "roses" on top in Berry Sorbet ink to help fill in some of the space.

The frame is die-cut in Berry Sorbet cardstock using the Fabulous Frames die.  I adhered it to the card on an angle and tied sheer white ribbon around it.  "Hello" is die-cut in Sweet Blush cardstock 3 times using Wet Paint Cuts, stacked and glued together.  Can you tell I really like my Wet Paint Cuts dies??

To finish the card, I added a few iridescent sequins and coarse glitter to the roses.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Year of Flowers Collection, Year of Flowers Titles
  • Paper:  PTI Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush, White Stampers Select, Sweet Blush Gingham
  • Ink:  PTI Berry Sorbet; Memento Tuxedo Black

Happy 60th Birthday

I have to say I certainly got my money's worth out of these number dies from PTI.  I have used them quite a bit!

I started with a piece of white cardstock and stamped it with a polka dot background in light green ink.  I rounded the corners and adhered it to a Plum Pudding cardstock card base.

I die-cut the flowers and stamped them in purple and orange with black dotted centers.  The leaves are stamped in green ink.  A few of the flowers are on foam tape for dimension.  The 60 is die-cut in purple with a coaster support, placed on foam tape.  I added "th" in Summer Sunrise cardstock.

Using Wet Paint Cuts (again!) I die-cut "happy" in Spring Moss cardstock and placed it on an angle.  "Birthday" is die-cut in the same color cardstock, 3 times for dimension.

To finish the card, I tied Orchid twine around the spine in a bow and added glitter to the flowers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Ruby Reprise, Reasons To Smile, Polka Dot Basics
  • Paper: PTI Plum Pudding, White Stampers Select, Summer Sunrise, Spring Moss
  • Ink:  Memento Tangelo, Pear Tart, Tuxedo Black; Brilliance Pearlescent Purple
  • Tools:  PTI By The Numbers Dies, Wet Paint Cuts Die, Ruby Rose Dies, Suffix Style Dies, Wonderful Words: Birthday Die; Corner Rounder

Thanks (CAS #29)

Happy November!  The year is passing by too quickly for me.

I needed to make a quick thank you card and wanted something with autumn colors and picked a pattern paper from Autumn Abundance.  I layered the pattern paper over a Summer Sunrise cardstock card base, rounding the bottom corners.

Using my favorite Wet Paint Cuts, I die-cut "thanks" in Canyon Clay cardstock, cutting it three times, stacking and gluing them together to give the card a little dimension.  I really like doing this much better than using a coaster support.

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Autumn Abundance, Summer Sunrise, Canyon Clay
  • Tools:  PTI Wet Paint Cuts Die; Corner Rounder
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
