Just a quick birthday card for today.

I die-cut the balloons in coordinating cardstock, adding the balloon strings in white cardstock and the balloon tie in Pure Poppy cardstock. The middle balloon is on foam tape for a bit of dimension. I placed the panel on a Hawaiian Shores cardstock card base.

Happy Birthday...

I have a ton of pattern paper and usually have to force myself to use it! Silly, I know, but sometimes it's an effort to use it.

For this card, I pulled out Argyle Socks pattern paper and placed a piece of it on Kraft cardstock. Next, I cut the Happy One Liner die in Kraft and Enchanted Evening cardstock. I overlapped the two banners and placed the Kraft letters in the blue die-cut.

Birthday is stamped in Enchanted Evening ink on a banner made with Kraft cardstock. The banner is on fun foam for dimension.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Argyle Socks, Kraft, Enchanted Evening
  • Ink:  PTI Enchanted Evening
  • Dies:  PTI One Liners: Happy; Tag Trios Nestabilities

Papertrey September 2017 Blog Hop Challenge...

This month's inspiration photo features black as the background, something I don't use often. But I was intrigued by the flowers and bird and didn't have too much trouble coming up with an idea. The poppy flowers in Stemmed Statements reminded me of the flowers in the photo and since I haven't inked up that set yet, it was my first choice for my card.

I stamped the flowers in black ink on white cardstock, die-cut and colored them with Copic markers. I also die-cut some leaves from the Spruce & Sprigs set and stamped them with Kraft ink. I arranged the florals on a panel of True Black cardstock, cutting off one of the green leaves and placing it at the bottom where the stems cross over.

The Winter Woods bird is die-cut in white cardstock, stamped with Kraft and Cocoa Beans inks and is on foam tape for dimension.

The card base is Pure Poppy cardstock, with a layer of white cardstock in between to give a striped look at the bottom. I die-cut the banner in white cardstock, stamped the sentiment in Pure Poppy ink and placed it on fun foam for additional dimension. And another Christmas card is done!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Stemmed Statements, Spruce & Sprigs, Winter Woods
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, True Black, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Pure Poppy, Kraft, Cocoa Bean; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Copics:  G12, G82, R24, R39, Y38
  • Dies:  PTI Stemmed Statements, Spruce & Sprigs, Winter Woods
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Fun Foam

Feel Better Soon...

Can you take one more Pantone chip card? Yes, I went a little nuts making these, but they're so easy and fun to do! You can learn how to make them with this PTI video: Pantone Chip Inspired Cards.

I started with white cardstock and lightly stenciled the background with Lilac Grace ink. I created the chip by cutting a piece of 2" x 2-3/4" white cardstock. I placed a 2" x 2" piece of Lilac Grace cardstock and a 3/4" x 2" piece of white cardstock on top.

The bird is die-cut in white cardstock and stamped with Lilac Grace, Grape Jelly, Mint Julep, Green Parakeet and black ink. I die-cut the bird 4 times and stacked and glued it together for dimension. The sentiment is stamped in black ink.

I placed the chip on fun foam for additional dimension.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Humming Along, Healing Touch Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Lilac Grace
  • Ink:  PTI Lilac Grace, Mint Julep, Green Parakeet; Memento Tuxedo Black, Grape Jelly
  • Dies:  PTI Humming Along

Mixing Florals (MIM #297)...

I don't know why I struggled so much with this week's challenge Make It Monday #297: Mixing Florals, hosted by Dawn McVey. She shows us how to mix up florals from different stamp sets. So why did I struggle when I have so many floral sets? Because I couldn't decide which ones to use and what looked good together! Dawn makes it look so easy!!

I finally decided to use the Color Pop Florals and Color Pop Autumn mini kits. I originally stenciled the flowers directly on linen cardstock, trying 3 times to get something that looked decent. Nothing did and I ended up die-cutting the flowers for my 4th attempt! lol

The flowers and leaves are all stenciled on Fresh Snow Linen cardstock. I wanted to make this more of a Fall type card and stamped the flowers in Summer Sunrise and Orange Zest ink. The leaves are stamped in Spring Moss and Ripe Avocado inks. I arranged everything on a white linen panel and thought there was too much white showing, and added a strip of Orange Zest stripes at the bottom. The flowers are either glued or adhered with foam tape for dimension.

Happy Thanksgiving is stamped in Ripe Avocado ink on a banner, die-cut 4 times and glued together. I thought the card still needed something so I added white crochet thread around the bottom. At least I'm happy with the way it (finally) turned out!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Color Pop Florals, Color Pop Autumn, Pumpkin Patch
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Fresh Snow Linen, Orange Zest Stripes
  • Ink:  PTI Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Fine Linen, Kraft, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado; Memento Morocco
  • Dies:  PTI Color Pop Florals, Color Pop Autumn; Tag Trio Nestabilities
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Crochet Thread

The Joys Of Summer...

Well, for me, there really aren't many joys of summer when it's too hot to do anything. On the upside, eating ice cream in the hot weather is so refreshing!😋

This is a quick card made from Beautiful Berries: Summer. I started with a piece of white cardstock and stamped the berries in Amethyst Allure/Grape Jelly, Berry Sorbet/Pure Poppy and Blueberry Sky/Enchanted Evening. The leaves are stamped in Green Parakeet/New Leaf inks.

The panel was empty looking so I ran it through the Cuttlebug to give it a stitched border. The sentiment is stamped in black ink.

An easy, clean and simple card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Beautiful Berries: Summer, Day At The Beach
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Amethyst Allure, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Green Parakeet, New Leaf; Memento Grape Jelly; Versafine Black Onyx

He Makes Me Lie Down In Green Pastures...

PTI released a series of stamps this year with Psalm verses and I had to get this one.

I started by masking off my card with a 1/2" border around the edges - I wanted to have a nice, clean white edge around it. I rubbed on Blueberry Sky and Spring Rain inks to create the sky and Night Sky ink to create the water. For the grassy area, I used Spring Moss ink.

The trees are stamped in Spring Moss and Ripe Avocado inks. I stamped the sentiment and the lambs in Smokey Shadow ink.

I like that everything you need to make this card is in the one stamp set. And it's a $5 set!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Year of Psalms: June
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Smokey Shadow; VersaMagic Night Sky
  • Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Papertrey September 2017 Create Along With Us...

This month PTI is showing their new holidays designs, which happens to be my favorite time of year! And it's never too early to get started on Christmas cards. I saw this card by Betsy Veldman and was inspired by the way she used embossing, Blueberry Sky ink and snowflakes in her design. Her card is gorgeous!

For my project, I started with a piece of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Enchanted Evening ink. Next, I stamped a number of snowflakes and swirls in Versamark ink, sprinkled them with white embossing powder and heat set them.

I took Spring Rain and Blueberry Sky inks and rubbed them over the embossing. I placed the panel on a Blueberry Sky cardstock card base and added a sequin to each of the large snowflakes.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI What The Doodle: Snowflakes, Two Feet Deep
  • Paper:  PTI Blueberry Sky, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Enchanted Evening, Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain; Versamark
  • Tools:  Heat Tool

Healing Wishes...

I haven't used this Altenew stamp set very much and thought it was time to ink it up again!

On white cardstock, I stamped the flowers in Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores and Harvest Gold inks and the stems in Spring Moss ink. I added the sentiment and little clusters in black ink.

The stitching around the panel was made with a MFT die. I placed the panel on a Raspberry Fizz cardstock card base.  Quick and easy!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Colorful Words, Beautiful Berries: Spring; Altenew Simple Flowers
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Raspberry Fizz
  • Ink:  PTI Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, Harvest Gold, Spring Moss; Memento Tuxedo Black

Happy Summer Birthday...

I thought I'd better post this card before the summer is over! This is one of those cards I didn't want to give away because I just love the way it turned out!😍

I wanted to fill the background with clouds and made my own "cloud stencil" using cloud dies and a square piece of cardstock. I die-cut each side of the square with the cloud dies and now I'll be able to use it over and over!

I started by placing a piece of masking tape at the bottom of the card where the grass and sky would meet. I used Spring Moss ink and lightly rubbed it to create the grass. The blades of grass were stamped in Simply Chartreuse ink.

Using my new "cloud stencil" and Hawaiian Shores ink, I created the sky. Doesn't it look great? I stenciled the sun rays right on top in Lemon Tart ink.

The two flamingos are die-cut in white cardstock and stamped in Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet and black ink. I placed the closest one on foam tape. The sentiment is stamped on white cardstock and is also on foam tape for dimension.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Some Like It Hot, Wreath For All Seasons, Big Birthday Wishes; WPlus9 Unforgettable
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shores, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Lemon Tart; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Dies:  PTI Some Like It Hot, Building Blocks; Taylored Expressions Rolling Clouds

Small Images On Repeat (MIM #296)...

I always like it when Lexi Daly hosts MIM because she shows us how to make clean and simple cards. This week's challenge is Make It Monday #296: Small Images On Repeat, where we create a card using several small images. It was hard deciding which small image to use for this! Since the holiday season is upon us, I thought a Thanksgiving card would work.

Using the Take Three die, I die-cut the squares in Rustic White cardstock. I stenciled the leaf images from Color Pop Autumn, using Summer Sunrise with a bit of Morocco around the edges for a two tone look. The veins were stamped in Cocoa Bean ink.

Bountiful is die-cut in Terracotta Tile cardstock, 3 times, stacked and glued together. Blessings is stamped in Cocoa Bean ink. I placed the three squares on foam tape for a bit of dimension and adhered the panel to a Terracotta Tile cardstock card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Color Pop: Autumn Make It Market Mini Kit
  • Paper:  PTI Terracotta Tile, Rustic White
  • Ink:  PTI Summer Sunrise, Cocoa Bean; Memento Morocco
  • Dies:  PTI Color Pop: Autumn, Take Three
  • Other:  PTI Color Pop: Autumn Stencil; Foam Tape
  • Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

With Sympathy...

I pulled out another stencil today and decided to make a soft background for a sympathy card.

On white cardstock, I stenciled the background using Soft Stone ink. The first layer of the branch is die-cut from Soft Stone cardstock. I die-cut another branch in vellum, scored the middle of the leaves and folded them in half for a dimensional look.

I attached the vellum leaves on top of the cardstock layer. The sentiment is stamped in black ink. I couldn't get a good picture of this - it looks much better in person!

And a side view to see the raised vellum:

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Keep It Simple: Sympathy
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Soft Stone; Vellum
  • Ink:  PTI Soft Stone; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Dies:  PTI Branching Out
