Valentine Candy Slider

I like to make some sort of treat for each holiday and this is what I made for Valentine's Day.  This is a candy bar slider that holds a full size Hershey bar!  For my sliders I used plain assorted cardstock, patterned papers and ribbons.  After folding the cardstock, I applied the patterned paper, crimped the bottom and made a hole in the top for the ribbon.  I cut hearts with nestabilities and used PTI's Tiny Treats Valentine set for the sentiments. I made a variety of styles as you can see below.  (Note:  these could be made for any occasion)

Project Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI's Tiny Treats: Valentine
  • Paper:  DCWV, K & Company
  • Tools:  Crimper, Scalloped Heart Nestabilities, Crop-A-Dile
  • Other:  Ribbon
  • Size:  3" x 6"

Snowman Peeker

So many winter birthdays!  This is another stamp set from PeachyKeenStamps called "Snowman Peeker" - I thought it was a cute idea to have the snowman "hold up" the birthday wishes.  I used white for the card base, topped with a blue pattern paper.  The snowman is colored with Copics (I chose blue and pink because my friend is expecting any day and doesn't know if she's having a boy or girl) and then cut it out and mounted it on 3d foamies.  I added the sentiment from PTI's Birthday Bash Sentiments, corner flourishes, snowflakes and crystals. Happy Birthday Jamie!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PeachyKeenStamps "Snowman Peeker, Large", PTI "Birthday Bash Sentiments"
  • Paper:  DCWV
  • Tools:  Cuttlebug Vintage Dies, EK Success Snowflake Punch
  • Other:  Copics, Crystals, 3d Foamies
  • Card Size:  5.5" x 5.5"

Snowman Valentine

We got 17 inches of snow overnight so I'm in a "snowy" mood.  This stamp set is from PeachyKeenStamps and is called Hildebrandt Hearts.  When I saw this set, I knew I had to have it, and I liked it so much I made 2 cards with different colors.

Card #1 - uses white for the card base, topped with a heart patterned paper, then layers of red, pink and white.  The image is stamped and colored with Copics; next I added a border at the top using a Martha Stewart punch and crystals on the tops of the scallops.  It still needed something so I put glitter on the hat and around the bottom of the snowmen to give the illusion of snow.

Card #2 - I used white again for the card base, topped with a grey patterned paper and layers of black, red and white.  I colored this with Copics also and added the glitter like I did on the first card.  I felt the card looked a little plain so wrapped the red ribbon around it.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PeachyKeenStamps "Hildebrandt Hearts"
  • Paper:  DCWV
  • Tools:  Martha Stewart Scallop Border Punch
  • Other:  Crystals, Martha Stewart Glitter, Holiday Inspirations Ribbon
  • Card Size:  5.5" x 5.5"

  • Tools:  Fillable Frames #1 Die
  • Other:  Robin's Nest Dew Drops, Dashes, Dots & Checks Ribbon

In Bloom

Time to start playing with my January PTI purchases!  I couldn't wait to use the new Mat Stack 3 Collection stamp set since the Mat Stack 3 is one of my favorites dies!  I saw a card I liked on Debbie Olson's blog and thought I'd make one similar to it.  I used white for the card base and then layered it with Plum Pudding; to create a "patterned paper look" I stamped flower images with Fresh Snow ink.  I stamped the flower and  Mat Stack 3 design onto the die cut and colored the flower with Copics.  To finish the card, I added the sentiment, ribbon and glitter on the flower.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Mat Stack 3 Collection, In Bloom, Round & Round (2009 Anniversary)
  • Paper:  PTI Plum Pudding, White Cardstock
  • Tools:  Mat Stack 3 Die

Tissue Box Get Well

It seems like it's been a while since I made a get well card.  For this card, I used ivory as the card base and topped it with a green, geometric pattern paper.  I stamped the Lockhart Tissue Box on ivory and colored it with Copics and cut it out using square nestabilities.  I added a scalloped border at the bottom, the sentiment and a couple of black metallic dots. I like the softness of this color green and think this card could be for either male or female.

Cookie Baker Snowman

My friend Debbie (my blog header designer) gave me this for Christmas.  She knows I bake a lot of cookies and this would be perfect for me.  Again, such incredible detail she did on this....I wish I could paint like her!  I have it in my kitchen and love looking at it everyday!  She is one painter extraordinaire!  Thank you again Debbie!

Yesterday was my friend's baby shower - and a chance for me to make another card using PTI's Banner Builder stamp set!  I used white for the card base and then a colorful, polka dot paper and added layers of Spring Moss and white.  I used Spring Moss, Hawaiian Shores and Orange Zest plain cardstock to cut the various banner dies and banner toppers, then added a layer on top of them using the matching Bitty Dots pattern paper.  The circles for "Baby" were made with nestabilities and stamped  with Studio G $1 stamps; the "congratulations" is from Take Three:  Summer.

First Snowball of Winter

I had a lot of fun making this card!  This is a stamp I recently bought and it seemed perfect to use since we had snow last week and it's still on the ground - the stamp is called "First Snowball of Winter".  I used pink for the card base and then layered a patterned grey.  I stamped the image and colored it with Copics and cut it out using oval nestabilities.  I put a strip of grey behind the image and glitter on the snowball, hat pompom and the coat "fur".  I dabbed some Stickles to make it look like falling snow, and then added the clear rhinestones, sentiment and ribbon.  Happy Birthday Linda!

Can you believe it's 2011??  Where did 2010 go?  For this year, I want to stop buying so many supplies and start using what I have on hand!!  I know I say this every year...but I'm hoping to stick to it this time!  At least for a little while....hehe

Here's Riley, ready to party and ring in the new year.  For this card I used pink for the card base and layers of black and a glitter paper from DCWV (that I bought a long time ago).  Riley is colored with Copics and cut out using Labels Fifteen nestabilities.  The Happy New Year sentiment is a Studio G $1 stamp and stamped on the tea label die from PTI.  I added pink crystals, a black and silver ribbon and used a glitter gel pen to add some sparkle for the champagne.  Happy 2011!
