Happy Anniversary

Doilies seem to be the latest trend so I thought it was about time I used one on a card.  I used Blueberry Sky for the card base, topped with a layer of white and a blue flower pattern.  I sewed around the edges of the card and added the scalloped border at the bottom with rhinestones.  I used a 4" doily as the background and then layered it with a scalloped heart (that I paper pierced) and a white heart.  The sentiment was made on the computer.  The card still needed something so I added the white polka dot ribbon bow and a few more rhinestones at the bottom of the heart.

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Blueberry Sky, Stampin' Up
  • Tools:  Standard & Scalloped Nestabilities, Paper Piercing Tool, Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edge Punch, Rhinestones
  • Other:  Doily, PTI Sheer White Polka Dot Ribbon
  • Card Size:  4.5" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday, Dad!

I started this card by picking out this paisley paper - the paisley reminds me of a shirt that my dad wears.  After that I wasn't sure how I was going to make the card.  I picked out matching green, Fine Linen and Kraft papers, then tried all sorts of birthday wishes to put on the front.  Nothing seemed to grab me....and after several attempts and several hours....I finally wrapped twine around the card, added the birthday sentiment and a couple of tear drops.  Simple, but I like it!  Happy Birthday Dad!

I make my dad pizzelles every year for his birthday - I just finished making these so they are nice and fresh.

Wedding Card

I made this for my friend's daughter who got married on New Year's Eve; her colors were green and purple so I wanted them to be part of the card.  I used Vintage Cream card stock for the entire card.  First, I stamped the leaves down the size of the card, adding two purple flowers. I cut out the next layer using a scalloped rectangle nestability and stamped the cake, flowers, leaves and sentiment onto it and mounted it on 3d foamies.  To finish the card, I added pearls, ribbon and a little bit of glitter on the edges of the leaves.  Congratulations Maria & Stephen!

This is another January release from PTI, Year of Flowers:  Carnations and the last of the flowers series.  I've really enjoyed collecting this series over the past year!  I used Melon Berry as the card base and topped it with the matching polka dot paper. And I used the new PTI card edger to give that "fancy cut" at the bottom!  I stamped the flower image, colored it with Copics, mounted it on Melon Berry cut with Lacey Circles nestabilities and added glitter on the edges.  For the sentiment, I cut a piece of white and Melon Berry, stamped it with happy birthday and added a couple of tear shaped rhinestones.  Happy Birthday Susan D!
