Congrats On Your New Little Bundle

I'm so far behind with posting items because I'm been with holiday items.  I think I got this set a couple months ago when the coordinating dies were released.  I hope I can get back on schedule after the holidays are over!  This is a card for my friend's daughter - her first grandchild.

I used Lemon Tart cardstock for the card base and added a layer of pattern paper about two thirds on the front of the card.  I cut a rectangle of Spring Moss cardstock and one in white cardstock, inverting the corners.  I die cut the onesie in the same pattern paper and stamped over it in black ink to show the onesie image.  I adhered it to the white cardstock with foam tape for dimension and placed it on the card.

I stamped the sentiment and added the Honeydew twine tied in a bow.  I found the yellow buttons, which I've had for a while but were a good match for the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Bitty Baby Blessings, Signature Greetings
  • Paper:  PTI Lemon Tart, Spring Moss, White Stampers Select, Bitty Baby Blessings
  • Tools:  PTI Bitty Baby Blessings Die; Inverted Corner Rounder; Standard Rectangle Nestabilities
  • Other:  Twine; Buttons
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
  • Use What I Have:  Buttons - I don't even remember when or where I bought them!

Beautiful Butterflies Collection

Another item I made for the Craft Fair is this assorted pack of greeting cards, using PTI's Beautiful Butterflies stamp set.

Each card uses Kraft cardstock for the card base, rounding the bottom corners.  I used the same large butterfly as the focal point, stamping it once in a solid color, and then stamping over it again with a designed stamp.  I layered the Kraft cardstock with strips of solid cardstock and pattern paper to match the color of the butterfly.  I stamped the sentiment and then added twine, flowers, buttons, etc. to each card.

The cards are packaged in a clear box, decorated with a strip of pattern paper that I used a Martha Stewart border punch on for the design.  I added a little circle tag that says "just for you" stamped on white and layered on another circle of Spring Moss cardstock.  I stamped a little butterfly over the sentiment so everything is perfectly coordinated!

A Good Friend

This is another new set from PTI called "Over Under Easy".  It's a nice set because it has a variety of sentiments plus a variety of flourishes that you can put over or under the sentiments or leave them off.

I used Sweet Blush cardstock for the card base and added a layer of pretty flowered, pink pattern paper, using Card Edgers on the bottom of both papers.   I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock, adding a flourish in pink above the sentiment.  I attached the white to a Lacey Square nestability and adhered it to the card base with foam tape for dimension.

To finish off the card, I tied a bow around it with white tulle and added a few crystal gems to the flourish.

School Bus Nuggets

This is another item for the Craft Fair.  I saw these on Pinterest and thought they would make a nice little something for a bus driver or teacher as an appreciation/holiday gift.  Jill was kind enough to send me her extra school bus labels which saved me having to print them out.

The labels are wrapped around Hershey nuggets and secured with Scor-Tape.  I made some with milk chocolate and some with toffee almond crunch....the toffee crunch are wrapped in gold and look nicer with the yellow school bus labels, but I always think about the people who can't eat nuts, so I put a few plain milk chocolate in the bags too.

After wrapping the labels, I punched out the little black wheels using my Crop-A-Dile and adhered them to the bus using Alene's Tack It glue.  I made the tags for the bags using a die to cut the tag and stamped them with various holiday images (colored with Copics) and sentiments.  I think these are just adorable!

Project Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Fillable Frames #9, Tiny Treats: Christmas
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft
  • Tools:  PTI Fillable Frames #9 Die; Crop-A-Dile; Copics
  • Other:  Hershey Nuggets; Twine; Scor-Tape; Cellophane Bags

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's the day again when we all over eat....lots of food but also lots of leftovers - the best part of the turkey tradition!

This is another Thanksgiving card made using Autumn Hills.  I used Dark Chocolate cardstock for the card base, rounded the right hand corners and topped it with a layer of fall-like pattern paper.  This pattern paper is from when I originally purchased my Cricut machine, about 7 years ago, so time to use it.  lol

I stamped the image on white cardstock, colored it with Copics and layered it onto a piece of Orange Zest cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped on white and layered on another piece of Chocolate, both cut with oval nestabilities. The jute on the spine seemed like the perfect final touch for the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Autumn Hills
  • Paper:  PTI Dark Chocolate, Orange Zest; Cricut
  • Tools:  Oval Nestabilities; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Copics; Jute

Sending Thanksgiving Blessings (CAS #26)

I needed to make a couple of quick Thanksgiving Day cards to send out.  I used Terracotta Tile for the card base, stamped the sentiment and then embossed the front of the card using the Simple Stripes Impression Plate.  I die cut the squares using the Take Three die, stamped them with the leaves and adhered it to the card on foam tape for dimension.

I added a bit of glitter to the leaves and tied the Charcoal twine around the spine.

  • Stamps:  PTI Autumn Hills, Leaf Prints
  • Paper:  PTI Terracotta Tile, Rustic Cream
  • Tools:  PTI Simple Stripes Impression Plate, Take Three Die

Sending Prayers

I saw this card on Nichole's blog and decided to make one similar to it.  I used Autumn Rose cardstock for the card base and added a layer of white cardstock, rounding all four corners.

I die cut the vase in vellum and rubbed pink ink on it to give it color.  I stamped the "flowers" (which is really a tree from the Autumn Hills stamps set) for the vase and colored the leaves with Copics.  I stamped the small pink flowers on top of the leaves and placed the vellum vase on top.

I stamped the sentiment, added the little butterfly and some glitter to the flowers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Autumn Hills, Beautiful Butterflies, Hanging Out
  • Paper:  PTI Autumn Rose, White Stampers Select
  • Tools:  PTI Mega Vases Die; Corner Rounder, Martha Stewart Butterfly Border Punch
  • Other:  Martha Stewart Glitter

happy BIRTHDAY

I made this card a while ago and realized I didn't post it.  It was made using the Quatrefoil die from PTI.  I used Pure Poppy for the card base and added a layer of white cardstock, making inverted corners on the right hand side.

I cut out the shapes with the Quatrefoil die and stamped them with red and black ink and adhered them to the card in a random design.  I stamped the happy birthday sentiment and added a few red rhinestones to complete the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Botanical Silhouettes
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, White Stampers Select
  • Tools:  PTI Quatrefoil Die; Inverted Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Rhinestones
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Pinecones Birthday

This card uses two new sets from PTI - Peaceful Pinecones and Background Basics:  Super Stripes.  The pinecones set is primarily a Christmas set, but it also makes a nice masculine card!

I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base and stamped the stripes diagonally across the card.  I die cut the next two layers using deckled nestabilities; one in Dark Chocolate cardstock and one in Rustic White cardstock.

I stamped the pinecones and leaves and die cut one pinecone that I adhered with foam tape for dimension.  Even though this card is for a man, I added coarse glitter to the pinecones bottoms because pinecones always seem to have glitter/snow on them.  I stamped the sentiment and adhered the layers to the card base.

I tied the jute around the card and added the wood button.  I really love how this card turned out!  Happy Birthday Joe!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Peaceful Pinecones, Background Basics: Super Stripes, 2012 Birthday Tags

  • Tools:  PTI Peaceful Pinecones Die; Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities

Notepads

I've been busy making things for a craft show I'm participating in the end of November.  I've been making things that can be used as little gifts or stocking stuffers and will be posting them over the next few weeks.

These started out as just plain old white notepads; I added the decorated covers and also a pen (held by ribbon) and a pocket to the inside (picture 2).  I used PTI cardstock for the notepad base since it's a good, sturdy cardstock and will hold up well.  Each notepad has a pattern paper layer on top of the base, another layer of cardstock and the stamped images on white. The finished size of the book closed is 3-3/4" x 5-1/2", so a nice size to throw in a handbag.

A special thanks to Jill for the notepads and pens!

Burn The Candle

Dolly Mama stamps are so much fun to color and make nice birthday cards.

I used Summer Sunrise cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Amuse Venetian pattern paper.  I'm finding that my Amuse collection of pattern papers are very good matches for my PTI cardstock!

I stamped the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copics.  I added a few prisma flowers with gem centers to complete the card.

Birthday Wishes (CAS #25)

This is the last of the Washi tape colors from Target.  Another simple card to make using this fantastic tape.

I used Royal Velvet cardstock for the card base, a color that seems to me, difficult to find things to go with it.  Luckily this tape matches it quite well!  I put the four different designs of tape on the card, cutting the ends of each strip with pinking shears for a little bit of design.  I cut the bottom of the white cardstock with the pinking shears as well.

I stamped the sentiment and added the jute.  The washi tape cards are really quick and fun to make.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI 2012 Birthday Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Royal Velvet, White Stampers Select
  • Tools:  Pinking Shears
  • Other:  Jute

Birthday Wishes

The die used to make the elongated triangles on this card is sold primarily for making jewelry beads, but I think it's a great shape for cards.

I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base and added the six triangles.  I die cut the tag from Fillable Frames #9 and stamped it with the sentiment.  I adhered it to the card with foam tape for dimension and added the Charcoal twine tied in a bow.

Naturally, to me the card need something else so I added the stars to make it look a bit more festive.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI 2012 Birthday Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse, Spring Moss, Everyday Blessings
  • Tools:  PTI Beautiful Beads Die, Fillable Frames #9 Die; Star Nestabilities
  • Other:  Twine, Foam Tape

PTI's Make It Monday #89

It's been a while since I made a MIM card but I just loved last Monday's idea.  It's called "Creating Windows For Floating Images" and the video and instructions can be found here.  I needed to make a couple of thank you's and decided to try this and was surprised at how easy it was to get this wonderful looking result!

I used Raspberry Fizz card stock for my card base and die cut an oval in the middle of it.  Next I took a piece of White Stampers Select card stock and die cut a scalloped oval in it.  I used Lovely Layers stamps for the flowers and leaves.  When I was done stamping, I ran the stamped image through the Cuttlebug with my Simple Stripes Impression Plate.

I adhered a piece of clear craft plastic behind the scalloped oval, and then attached the white cardstock to the Raspberry Fizz.  I die cut the "floating" flower in Raspberry Fizz and Hawaiian Shores cardstock and adhered it to the clear plastic with a piece of foam tape for dimension.  I added a little bit of coarse glitter to the center of the flower.  Doesn't the flower really look like it's floating?

For the inside of the card, I stamped the "thank you" off to the side so when the card is closed you'd see the flower and the sentiment. Since the sentiment didn't take up much room on the inside of the card, I stamped a few flowers and leaves to take up some of the space.  Raspberry Fizz and Hawaiian Shores is one of my favorite color combinations!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Lovely Layers, Framed Out #1
  • Paper:  PTI Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, White Stampers Select
  • Tools:  PTI Lovely Layers Dies; Standard & Scalloped Oval Nestabilities
  • Other:  Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter; Foam Tape; Clear Plastic
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Merry Christmas

Ok, enough of Halloween - time to move onto Christmas.  This is another card I saw on Pinterest - white with a blue snowflake wreath.  I made one similar in white and blue, which I really liked, but then decided to make one in Kraft and Scarlet Jewel also.

White & Blue
I used white cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Enchanted Evening cardstock.  Next, I embossed another piece of white cardstock using a striped embossing folder and layered it over the blue.

The wreath was made with a Martha Stewart snowflake punch - there are 13 snowflakes that make up the wreath.  I also added a few smaller snowflakes cut with a white glitter paper and placed them on the larger snowflakes.  I added the bow and stamped the sentiment.

Kraft & Scarlet
I used Kraft cardstock for the card base and added a layer of white cardstock.  I embossed a piece of Scarlet Jewel with the striped folder and placed it over the white.

The wreath was made with 13 snowflakes, the first 8 on the wreath are plain but I added gold Stickles (a little hard to see in the picture, but it's very pretty) to the other 5, placing them on the top for sparkle.  I added the scarlet bow.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark, then I sprinkled gold embossing powder on it and used my heat gun to emboss it.  The gold sentiment brings out the gold on the snowflakes and in the ribbon and makes a very elegant looking card.
