Thank You For Being So Thoughtful

I think it was the end of last year or early this year that I saw this card on Dawn McVey's blog (warning:  if you have an older computer, clicking on her website may cause your system to crash...I added her link through my iPad).  Dawn used these as her Christmas thank you's and when someone asked me to make them a few thank you cards, I knew I was going to use this for inspiration!

I used Pure Poppy cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the sentiment on Rustic Cream cardstock, ran it through the Cuttlebug with my woodgrain impression plate and adhered it to the card base.

The flower is completely made of die-cuts:  I die-cut each piece (10 pieces in all!), stamped them and placed them on the card.  Isn't this a great color combination?

50th Wedding Anniversary

I made this card a while ago and unfortunately I wasn't able to get a good detailed picture of it.  I used Vintage Cream cardstock for the card base and added a layer of embossed cardstock that I had in my stash. 

I die-cut the 50 from gold mirror paper, placing it on a lacey square die-cut and adhered it to the card base with foam tape for dimension.  I die-cut the two hearts in gold mirror and cream cardstock, stamping the top heart with the sentiment.  The heart is also on foam tape.

I randomly placed the flowers on the card and added pearls to the centers.  I also added pearls around the 50 and tied ribbon around the spine.  For presentation, I made a clear box to hold the card, placing gold bag filler in the bottom of the box and added tulle and hearts to the outside.

With Sympathy (CAS #9)

I've had a run on sympathy cards lately so have been trying to make more of them.  I wanted to make something quick and simple and came up with this idea.

I used Pure Poppy cardstock for the card base, rounding the right hand corners.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink at the bottom.  Next, I embossed a piece of white cardstock with a woodgrain impression plate.  I die-cut the butterfly out of the center and die-cut another butterfly with tea leaves pattern paper.  I scored the butterfly down the center, folded it and adhered it to the red cardstock.  I folded the wings of the butterfly upwards to give dimension to the card.

My last step was trying Charcoal twine around the spine - I seem to be using a lot of this color lately!

Birthday Wishes

It's nice to be done with all the Easter cards!  Now I can get back to normal and start using some of my new PTI items.  This is from the March release - which was "birthday month".

I used white cardstock for the card base and added a layer of blue gingham paper, rounding the bottom corners.  I stamped the streamers, confetti and sentiment and layered it on Blueberry Sky cardstock. 

I die-cut the balloons and stamped them in blue and purple inks.  I tied twine around the bottom of the balloons and adhered them to the card with foam tape.  This is going to be a fun set to play with!

I'm Here For You

My friend had his mailbox hit - basically a "hit and run" and he reported it to the police (the police found his mailbox on the next street over from him!)  He called to tell me about it and was pretty upset....but we were also laughing at the same time because these things seem to happen to him all the time.  There are four houses on his street, but why his mailbox???  I decided to make him a card to "cheer" him up a bit (hehe).

I used Kraft cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the mailbox images on white cardstock, but masked the last mailbox so it would show only 3 mailboxes attached to the wood post.  I stamped the "4th" mailbox on a separate piece of cardstock and cut it out.  The mailbox images were colored with Copics; I added the street numbers on the top of the mailboxes with a black marker.

I die-cut the grass with a Martha Stewart border punch.  I took the 4th mailbox and bent/folded it to make it look like it was damaged (the flap is actually sticking up for dimension) and put it on the grass.  I stamped, colored and cut the envelopes and randomly attached them to show the mail going all over the place.  I layered the image on blue cardstock as I thought it helped pull out the color from the blue envelopes.

Easter Eggs

This is the last of the Easter cards!  This is for a teenage girl - another hard age for me to come up with an idea since I didn't want it to be too cutesy or too mature.

I used white for the card base and added a layer of purple pattern.  The eggs were all die-cut with memory box - I cut the eggs with pinking scissors.  I die-cut all the letters using PTI's dies and glued them to the card.

I arranged the eggs on the card, placing some of them on foam tape for added dimension.  The card looked really plain so I added lace border at the top and the gems to each of the eggs.  I took this picture on a gloomy day....it really does look better in person!

First Easter

Is this adorable or what?  I saw a card like this on Pinterest (where else?) and thought it would be a cute card for a first Easter.  I didn't know how I was going to make the shape of the card because there was no template, so I made my own.  I keep all of my old greeting cards and found an Easter card from a few years ago and traced it!  Now that will become the permanent template for this card so I can make more of these in the future.

I used Harvest Gold for the card base, cutting two ovals with my template.  Using one oval, I made the "fur" on the top of the chick using my Martha Stewart grass border punch.  I added the pattern paper at the bottom, using a few different styles.  I also punched the "eyelet" border at the top of the pattern paper.

I die-cut the feet in solid and pattern orange papers and attached them to the chick with foam tape.  The sentiment was made on the computer and die-cut with oval nestabilities.  I added buttons for the eyes and cut a triangle for the beak - I pushed it together to give it a raised look.  I tied the ribbon around the card for the finishing touch.

I attached the second oval to the back of the card by scoring it at the top and attaching it to the back of the card slightly lower than where the fur is on the top oval.  I had to trim the bottom of the second oval so it lined up evenly with the top oval.  Hard to explain, I really should have taken pictures.  I'm happy with this card - it turned out cuter than I expected!

Happy Easter

I wanted to use my new Memory Box egg dies for a card.  I used Spring Moss for the card base and added a strip of pattern paper.  I think this pattern paper is about six years old - I got it when I bought my Cricut - and I think that was 2007?  I'm just glad I'm finally using the paper!

I die-cut the solid eggs from pattern paper scraps and added the white filigree over top.  I arranged the eggs and placed two of foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the sentiment and added gold Stickles to the eggs.  Sorry for the not so good picture again!

Easter Doo-dad

I see these bags being used for all sorts of things and since I had a pack of them, decided to use them for Easter.  They are filled with Pastel M&Ms.

I filled each bag with 24 candies, changing the pattern in each bag. It took a little bit of trying to get the candies to line up in the bag the way I wanted them to, but after making a few I got into a rhythm.  I tied two matching bags together with ribbon.

I die-cut the rabbits, stamped them with a variety of colors and stamped "Happy Easter" on the rabbit head.  I added the fluffy pompom to the rabbit tail.  I think these are so cute!

happy EASTER (CAS #8)

I wanted to use this cute rabbit again and made this quick card.  I used white cardstock for the card base and added the strips of pink with brown polka dots at the top and bottom.

I die-cut the rabbits in brown cardstock and added the tails.  The middle rabbit is on foam tape for dimension.  I stamped "happy Easter" onto a die-cut and placed it on foam tape.  I added the ribbon on the spine to complete the card.

Easter Tulip

I wanted to make something with tulips for Easter and decided to make this card.  I used white cardstock for the card base and added the layer of pattern paper, placing a scallop design in purple at the top and the bottom of it.  The scallop was made by using the top part of my heart border die!

I die-cut the tag and stamped the flower and sentiment onto it.  I attached it to the card base with foam tape for dimension, tying Orchid twine through the top.  I stamped the butterflies on the side - I inked the butterfly and stamped off one time, then stamped it on the card twice to give it a faded look to simulate the butterfly flying away.  I added a bit of glitter to the flower top.  And yes, another gloomy day to be taking pictures....

Happy Easter!

I copied this idea from a card I saw on Betsy Veldman's blog during the February PTI Release.  I thought it was such a cute idea and good to use for a little girl.

I used white cardstock for the card base and added a layer of pattern paper at the top and bottom.  I die-cut the four rabbits, stamped them in brown ink and gave them light purple tails with a pompom on top.  I cut the parts off the rabbits with scalloped scissors.

I made the sentiment on the computer, cut it out with a Tag Trio die and placed it on foam tape for dimension.  I added prisma flowers with a light purple gem in the center and tied lilac ribbon around the spine.  The picture isn't that great because we've had such gloomy weather here for the past week!
