Thinking Of You With Sympathy

This was a fairly quick card to make.  I used Lemon Tart cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the leaves in green ink onto white cardstock and distressed the edges.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink, tied a bit of Buttercream twine around the bottom and adhered it to the card base.

I die-cut the flowers, stamped them in yellow ink and randomly placed them on the leaves with foam tape for dimension.  I added yellow gems to the flower centers for a bit of bling.

Celebrate Today

I made this card for my parents anniversary and used a few new PTI items I bought over the last couple of months.  I'm so far behind using my stuff again!

I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base and added of layer of white, using my Cover Plate: Twist die.  Isn't that a nice die-cut?  I die-cut leaves in Spring Moss cardstock and arranged them on the card, letting some of the leaves overlap the ends of the card.  I also die-cut a bunch of flowers in Aqua Mist, stamped them with turquoise gem ink and rose bud ink for the centers.  The flower centers were placed on foam tape for dimension. 

I die-cut the banner, stamped the sentiment and placed it on foam tape.  I punched the two hearts in Raspberry Fizz and placed them on the banner.  I finished the card by adding gems to the flower centers.

Welcome, little one!

I can't believe I haven't posted a baby card this year.  I used white cardstock for the card base and added a layer of striped pink paper, rounding the right hand corners.

I die-cut the giraffe and stamped it with pink polka dots and backed it with coaster for support.  I tied a ribbon around the neck and adhered it to a lattice rectangle with foam tape for dimension.  I stamped a few pinks hearts next to the giraffe.

I stamped the sentiment on the bottom and wrapped additional ribbon around the spine.

happy Birthday (CAS #11)

Time for another card using washi tape - they are so easy to make and look really nice!  For this card I used Kraft cardstock for the card base.  I put the strips of black and white washi tape onto white cardstock and adhered it to the Kraft.

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom and added the little star tag that I die-cut and tied with jute.  That's it - the card is done!  A nice masculine card?

Sending Birthday Hugs & Wishes

Isn't this dress just adorable?  It's a new die from Memory Box called Princess Dress.  I think it's so cute with the hanger!

My first step was to pick out the pattern paper I wanted to use for the dress.  Once I did that, I die-cut the dress 3 times, once in the pattern paper and then in green and pink cardstock to match the dress.  I put the layers of the dress together with foam tape so the dress would be dimensional.  The card base is white cardstock, layered with light green cardstock.  I used an eyelet border punch to cut the one side and backed it with pink cardstock, leaving a bit of white on the side to help bring out the white in the dress.

I stamped the sentiment and adhered the dress to the card.  I cut the original hanger in black cardstock, but it looked too harsh so I die-cut another one in pink and overlapped it.  I tied pink ribbon around the waist and added the pink gems.  This would be so cute for a little girl or someone who really likes fashion!

Thinking Of You

I thought I posted this card earlier in the year, but obviously I didn't.  This is another card using Elizabeth Crafts. It's very hard to get a good picture of this technique to show off the glitter, but believe me, it's there and is gorgeous!  This is the same technique as the bear I made for Valentine's day, but I'll repeat the steps of how I did it again.

I used white cardstock for the card base and layered it with a striped pink and green pattern paper.  The flower is made with a peel off sticker - you peel off the sticker and place it on double-sided adhesive paper.  The outline of the flower looks like unfilled stained glass (picture just the black outline on the flower).

Next, you fill the sticker with a special microfine glitter, rubbing the glitter into the adhesive so it's nice and smooth.  The flower is colored with Copics.  I rounded the corners of the flower image, placed it on white cardstock and popped it up with foam tape. 

I stamped the sentiment down the side for something a little different and added the ribbon around the flower image.

happy birthday (for the fisherman and hunter)

I saw this card on Pinterest a long time ago and was waiting for the right person to make it for.  The link includes a template download for the vest so it's easy to make!

I downloaded the template and traced it onto Kraft cardstock and cut out the vest.  I edged around the vest and pockets with tea dye and added the "stitching" around the vest and pockets with a thin brown marker.

I placed the two bottom pockets on foam tape for dimension, adding a brad through the top flaps.  I stamped the fish in various inks, cut them out and placed them in the pocket.  Since the person fishes and hunts, I added the deer on the other pocket.  The deer is the little baby from the Deer Trio die! He's also on foam tape so it's popped up.

The vest looked like it needed something else, so I punched two holes in the bottom and threaded them with Cappuccino twine to make it look like the strings that tighten the vest.  I also added Visanou's name on a tag on the inside neckline.  Such a nice masculine card to make!

Hello Friend (CAS #10)

I made this card for my friend that sends me a lot of crafting things - it's always a nice surprise to open the mailbox and see a package from her!  Now it was my turn to send her something and I included this card.  I picked the Watercolor Wonder stamp set because I wanted her to order it!

I used Raspberry Fizz cardstock for the card base. I stamped the "paint brush" images randomly on white cardstock in various color inks.  I used an inverted corner rounder and added Charcoal twine on the spine.  A simple but fun card to make!

happy 40th birthday

I have to admit it -- this card was a lot of fun to make!  I used Kraft cardstock for the card base and added three different layers on top of it:  blue gingham, Enchanted Evening and DCWV.  I die-cut the banners using blue for the first layer, white on top and cut the letters in Blueberry Sky cardstock.  I added Kraft for the banner tops.  The banner was placed on Flax twine and adhered to the card.

I die-cut the "40" and "th" in white and overlapped it a bit.  I stamped "birthday" and die-cut it with a tag trio die.  I die-cut the tickets in Kraft, stamped them with the border, various sentiments and stars and placed them diagonally on the card.

I die-cut a bunch of stars and placed them on the card, stamping one with "proud of you" as the person who asked me to make this wanted it on the card.

Thank You For Being So Thoughtful

I think it was the end of last year or early this year that I saw this card on Dawn McVey's blog (warning:  if you have an older computer, clicking on her website may cause your system to crash...I added her link through my iPad).  Dawn used these as her Christmas thank you's and when someone asked me to make them a few thank you cards, I knew I was going to use this for inspiration!

I used Pure Poppy cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the sentiment on Rustic Cream cardstock, ran it through the Cuttlebug with my woodgrain impression plate and adhered it to the card base.

The flower is completely made of die-cuts:  I die-cut each piece (10 pieces in all!), stamped them and placed them on the card.  Isn't this a great color combination?

50th Wedding Anniversary

I made this card a while ago and unfortunately I wasn't able to get a good detailed picture of it.  I used Vintage Cream cardstock for the card base and added a layer of embossed cardstock that I had in my stash. 

I die-cut the 50 from gold mirror paper, placing it on a lacey square die-cut and adhered it to the card base with foam tape for dimension.  I die-cut the two hearts in gold mirror and cream cardstock, stamping the top heart with the sentiment.  The heart is also on foam tape.

I randomly placed the flowers on the card and added pearls to the centers.  I also added pearls around the 50 and tied ribbon around the spine.  For presentation, I made a clear box to hold the card, placing gold bag filler in the bottom of the box and added tulle and hearts to the outside.

With Sympathy (CAS #9)

I've had a run on sympathy cards lately so have been trying to make more of them.  I wanted to make something quick and simple and came up with this idea.

I used Pure Poppy cardstock for the card base, rounding the right hand corners.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink at the bottom.  Next, I embossed a piece of white cardstock with a woodgrain impression plate.  I die-cut the butterfly out of the center and die-cut another butterfly with tea leaves pattern paper.  I scored the butterfly down the center, folded it and adhered it to the red cardstock.  I folded the wings of the butterfly upwards to give dimension to the card.

My last step was trying Charcoal twine around the spine - I seem to be using a lot of this color lately!
