Girl Christening

I made this card a while ago too, but it's always good to have on hand.  I used Sweet Blush cardstock for the card base, rounding the bottom corners.  I cut a piece of white cardstock and ran it through the Cuttlebug using my "window pane" embossing folder.

The crosses, there are three, were die-cut with nestabilities and layered on top of each other.  I cut one in Sweet Blush to match the card base and the other two are in white, with a little foam tape on the second cross for dimension.

My final steps were adding pearls on the white embossed layer and the top two crosses and tying the white ribbon around the card.

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Sweet Blush, White Stampers Select
  • Tools:  Cuttlebug Window Pane Embossing Folder; Crosses Two Nestabilities; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Pearl Pen; Ribbon; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

The Best Is Yet To Come

I made this card a while ago using PTI's Super Stripes and Over Under Easy stamp sets.  Over Under Easy is a nice set with lots of large sentiments, plus you can mix up the border flourishes above and below the sentiments, so there are lots of ideas.

I used white cardstock for the card base and stamped the stripes so they overlapped in the lower right hand corner.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink and added the flourishes on top and bottom of the sentiment in pink ink.

I die-cut the button in Raspberry Fizz cardstock and adhered it where the stamps crossed.  Another favorite color combo for me - purple and raspberry!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Over Under Easy, Background Basics:  Super Stripes
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Raspberry Fizz
  • Ink:  Brilliance Pearlescent Purple; Memento Rose Bud, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Sizzlet Button Die
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

hugs & kisses

Another Valentine card to share today. I decided I'm not making that many different kinds this year - I think I'm still recovering from all the Christmas holiday items I made!  I wanted to make a card with an envelope on it and  found some vellum with little hearts on it in my stash.

I really like how this turned out.  I used pink cardstock for the card base and added a layer of pink/white pattern paper.  I adhered the doily and placed a circle of pattern paper on top of it.  I had to do this because the vellum envelope didn't work well against the white doily.

I die-cut the envelope with a Sizzix die, added the two hearts stamped with sentiments and placed them on top with foam tape for dimension.  I die-cut the XO border at the bottom in a lighter pink cardstock.  It looked like it was still missing something, so I tied Charcoal twine around the envelope which helped bring out the black on the sentiments.  I love pink and black together!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Framed Out #11
  • Paper:  Reflections Pink Buttons; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Framed Out #11 Die, XOXO Border; Standard Circle Nestabilities; Sizzix Envelope Die
  • Other:  Doily; Twine; Foam Tape; Vellum
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

With Sympathy (CAS #2)

I needed to make a quick sympathy card and pulled out my Turning A New Leaf stamp set.  This set is good to use for so many occasions!

I used white cardstock for the card base and rounded the lower right hand corner.  I stamped the branches on the card in two different color green inks and added the flowers in blue ink.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink and added the butterfly, with two little pearls in the center.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Turning A New Leaf, Botanical Silhouettes
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Bamboo Leaves, Pear Tart, Summer Sky, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Pearl Pen

Birthday Wishes

This was a quick card made with Washi Tape.

I used Enchanted Evening cardstock for the card base and added a layer of white cardstock, rounding just the upper right hand corner.  I placed four rows of the Washi tape diagonally across the card.

I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock in blue ink, cut it with an oval die and layered it on another oval die-cut in black cardstock.  My last step was tying Denim twine around the bottom of the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI 2012 Birthday Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Enchanted Evening, True Black, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:   Memento Danube Blue
  • Tools:  PTI Limitless Layers Ovals; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Washi Tape; Twine; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Warm Healing Wishes

I felt like using Pure Poppy cardstock and pulled out my new Heart-2-Heart stamps and decided to make a few rows of the flowers with red and yellow inks.

After stamping the flowers, I stamped one more yellow flower on a die-cut and added it on foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the sentiment and added Pearl Pen to the flower centers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Heart-2-Heart #7, Healing Touch Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Love Letter, Cantaloupe, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Heart-2-Heart #7 Die

MIM #100 - How To Package Cards With Oversized Embellishments

Yes, I'm participating in another Papertrey Make It Monday challenge, especially since this one has a $100 PTI gift certificate prize!  I'd love to win that!

I needed to make an 80th birthday card and since I know the card will be hand delivered, I opted to make a square card.  I used Hawaiian Shores cardstock for the card base and added a layer of chevron striped pattern paper.

Using my Tag Sale #7 die, I die-cut the tag in Hawaiian Shores, Lemon Tart and white cardstock.  I stamped the flower on the white cardstock and added the flower, die-cut in Melon Berry felt.  I added a Hawaiian Shores button and pearl to the flower center.  The tag was placed on the card with foam tape for dimension.  I also added Melon Berry ribbon at the top of the tag.

I die-cut the numbers in Melon Berry cardstock, placing the zero on more foam tape to lift it up over the eight.  The banner was made with two double ended banner die-cuts in Spring Moss cardstock that are pieced together underneath the tag (shhh, don't tell anyone) and overlap the card on both ends.  I stamped the sentiment on the banner.

The card is a little bulky to put in an envelope and perfect to put in a clear box that PTI stamps come in (I never throw anything away anymore!).  I placed iridescent, gift bag filler in the bottom of the box and wrapped white tulle around it, tying it in a bow.

I die-cut a pinking oval (the edges match the bottom of the tag!) in Hawaiian Shores and an oval in white cardstock, stamping it with smaller coordinating flowers.  I stamped "just for you" as the sentiment because the card will contain a cash birthday gift.  This presentation is so much nicer than an ordinary envelope, don't you think?

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Flower Fusion #7, Gracious Vases, Tranquility Trilogy
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, Lemon Tart, Melon Berry, Spring Moss, White Stampers Select; Amuse Chevron
  • Ink:  Memento Pear Tart, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Tag Sale #7 Die, Flower Fusion #7 Die, Double Ended Banners Die, By The Numbers Die, Limitless Layers Ovals
  • Other:  PTI Melon Berry Felt, Melon Berry Ribbon, Hawaiian Shores Button; Adhesive Pearl; Tulle; Bag Filler; Foam Tape; Clear Box
  • Card Size:  5.0" x 5.5"

Falling Apart

Another Dolly Mama card!

I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base and added a layer of polka dot pattern paper, rounding the bottom corners.  I stamped the image on white cardstock and colored it with Copics, again rounding the bottom corners.

I adhered the image to the pattern paper and added the tear shaped Dew Drops on the side for a little dimension.  This sounds like a simple card to make but the coloring takes a bit of time to do!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Dolly Mama Falling Apart
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, White Stampers Select; Amuse Polka Dots
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Ink
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Copics; Dew Drops
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5

Birthday Wishes

These cards are made with the Harlequin Cover Plate from PTI, another fabulous design.

I used Vintage Cream cardstock for the card base and ran another piece of cream through the Cuttlebug using the Cover Plate.  I popped out the cream die-cuts and replaced them in a pattern using Lavender Moon cardstock and Guide Lines pattern paper.

I stamped the sentiment on cream cardstock and die-cut it using an oval die and mounted it on another shaped oval in Plum Pudding.  The sentiment is on foam tape for dimension.

Here's the same card using Vintage Cream with Summer Sunrise cardstock and Bitty Baby Blessings pattern paper.  The ovals are made with cream and Spring Moss cardstock.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI 2012 Birthday Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Vintage Cream, Lavender Moon, Plum Pudding, Guide Lines, Summer Sunrise, Bitty Baby Blessings, Spring Moss
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Make It Monday #99 - Repeats & Rainbows

This weeks MIM from Papertrey looked like fun to do.  I always like it when Nichole suggests colors that we can use - it's usually colors I would never think to put together.  We had six different color combinations to choose from, and I picked the first one:

I used white cardstock for the card base and rounded the bottom corners.  Using the Flower Fusion #12 die, I die-cut four flowers in four different colors:  Hawaiian Shores, Hibiscus Burst, Orange Zest and Summer Sunrise.  I stamped the flower image on each in a coordinating ink.

I stamped the leaves and placed the flowers on foam tape for a bit of dimension.  The flower centers are die-cut in Simply Chartreuse and stamped with the "button like" image.  I stamped the sentiment and added the butterfly with two gems in the center.

The card looked a little empty on top so I added the clouds placed on foam tape.  Much better now I think!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Flower Fusion #12, Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, Hibiscus Burst, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Rose Bud, Tangelo, Cantaloupe, Pear Tart, Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Turquoise Gem
  • Tools:  PTI Flower Fusion #12 Die, Clouds 1&2 Die, Heart-2-Heart #6 Die; Corner Rounder; Martha Stewart Butterfly Border Punch
  • Other:  Gems; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Be Mine

I can't believe I'm making Valentine cards already!  But better to get them done early than wait until the last minute.

I used PTI's new With All My Love stamp set to make this card.  I used raspberry cardstock for the card base and added a layer of striped pinks/brown pattern paper and white cardstock, separating them with a pink heart border.

I die-cut a heart in white cardstock, stamped the pink heart with "be mine" on it, layered it on a brown heart and adhered it to the card with foam tape.  I die-cut the little banner, stamped the date and little hearts and placed it on foam tape for additional dimension.  I just love those little hearts - so cute!

My last step was tying the white twine around the bottom of the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI With All My Love
  • Paper:  Reflections Pink Buttons; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa, Rose Bud
  • Tools:  PTI Limitless Layers Hearts Dies, Countdown Details Die, Heart Border
  • Other:  Twine; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Congrats On Your New Job

Yes, another new job card!  Maybe the economy is starting to pick up with people needing new job cards!

I used Hawaiian Shores cardstock for the card base and added a layer of matching polka dot paper, rounding the corners on both.  I stamped the sentiment, circle and flowers on white cardstock and layered it on a piece of Lemon Tart cardstock.

I added gems to the flower centers and Charcoal twine on the spine - I think the black twine helps to set off the sentiment.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Congrats All Ways, Tag-Its #5
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, Lemon Tart; Amuse Polka Dots
  • Ink:  VersaMagic Turquoise Gem; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Twine; Gems
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Thank You (CAS #1)

I needed to make a thank you card for a male friend so you know that means keep it simple, simple, simple!  No ribbon, glitter, buttons, brads, etc.  lol

I used Kraft cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Dark Chocolate.  I stamped the trees on Vintage Cream cardstock, stamping the ones in the middle fully inked and the others by stamping the ink off once on a separate piece of paper and then onto the cardstock.  I think it gives the illusion the lighter stamped trees are in the background.

I stamped the sentiment and then ran the cardstock through the Cuttlebug using my Woodgrain Impression plate.  I think it looks very masculine!  I also made a few more of this design as sympathy cards.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Masculine Motifs, Botanical Silhouettes
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream
  • Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa
  • Tools:  PTI Woodgrain Impression Plate
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

happy BIRTHDAY

This card uses another new set from PTI called Embroidered Blooms.  I used to do a lot of embroidery years ago, and these stamps really do look like they're embroidered!

I used Winter Wisteria cardstock for the card base.  The flowers and leaves are stamped on Rustic White which I ran through the Cuttlebug with my Linen Impression Plate - I was trying to give it the look of cross-stitch material.

I cut the corners with an inverted corner rounder and inked around the edges in Antique Linen ink.  I stamped the sentiment and tied Orchid twine around the card.  The rustic white is on foam tape to add dimension.

After I took the picture, I added a few dimensional flowers to the card, cutting out the blooms and placing them on foam tape.  I didn't get a chance to take another picture of the card with the additions to it!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Embroidered Blooms
  • Paper:  PTI Winter Wisteria, Rustic White
  • Ink:  Memento Pear Tart, Summer Sky, Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Spring Pansy, Purple Hydrangea; Tim Holtz Antique Linen
  • Tools:  PTI Linen & Canvas Impression Plate; Inverted Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Martha Stewart Glitter; Orchid Twine; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Sympathy for Pet

My friend's cat passed away - she had him for 18 years so it's been really hard on her.  I sent her this card hoping it would help ease her pain a bit.

I used white cardstock for the card base, rounding the right bottom corner.  I stamped the stems in two colors of green ink.  The flowers are stamped in red ink, some with the stamp fully inked and some with the ink stamped off once.

I punched out the butterflies using a border punch, added the sentiment and a little glitter on the flowers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI With Sympathy: Loss of a Pet, Botanical Silhouettes
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Lemon Tart
  • Ink:  Memento: Love Letter, Bamboo Leaves, Pear Tart, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder; Martha Stewart Butterfly Border Punch
  • Other:  Martha Stewart Glitter
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy New Year

Well, like I mentioned before, 2012 went by so quickly it's frightening.  I'm not making any resolutions this year - I made a few craft resolutions last year that I was able to keep for about half the year.....

Ever since I received PTI's Funky Florals stamp I thought some of the flowers reminded me of fireworks and that's how this card was born.

I used True Black cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Soft Stone cardstock, rounding the corners.  I stamped two different size flowers in 3 different ink colors.  The circles were die-cut using the center piece from Flower Fusion #12 - it was the perfect size for the numbers of the new year.  I placed the circles on foam tape for dimension.

I stamped the sentiment - the stamp originally said "New Year's" but I cut off the "'s" and luckily the stamp police didn't come, lol....I'm getting much braver about cutting stamps!  I added silver Stickles on the flower centers and ends.

Happy New Year - wishing you a happy and healthy 2013!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Funky Florals, Happy Day, Banner Builder
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, Soft Stone
