Happy Easter

I wanted to use my new Memory Box egg dies for a card.  I used Spring Moss for the card base and added a strip of pattern paper.  I think this pattern paper is about six years old - I got it when I bought my Cricut - and I think that was 2007?  I'm just glad I'm finally using the paper!

I die-cut the solid eggs from pattern paper scraps and added the white filigree over top.  I arranged the eggs and placed two of foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the sentiment and added gold Stickles to the eggs.  Sorry for the not so good picture again!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Penny Black Easter March
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Moss, Egg Hunt, Bitty Dots; Cricut
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Memory Box Classic & Filigree Egg Dies
  • Other:  Stickles; Foam Tape

Easter Doo-dad

I see these bags being used for all sorts of things and since I had a pack of them, decided to use them for Easter.  They are filled with Pastel M&Ms.

I filled each bag with 24 candies, changing the pattern in each bag. It took a little bit of trying to get the candies to line up in the bag the way I wanted them to, but after making a few I got into a rhythm.  I tied two matching bags together with ribbon.

I die-cut the rabbits, stamped them with a variety of colors and stamped "Happy Easter" on the rabbit head.  I added the fluffy pompom to the rabbit tail.  I think these are so cute!

Project Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Polka Dot Parade #1, Tiny Tags II
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Summer Sky, Angel Pink, New Sprout, Lulu Lavender, Dandelion, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Polka Dot Parade #1 Die
  • Other:  M&Ms; Stampin' Up Bags; Pompom; Ribbon

I wanted to use this cute rabbit again and made this quick card.  I used white cardstock for the card base and added the strips of pink with brown polka dots at the top and bottom.

I die-cut the rabbits in brown cardstock and added the tails.  The middle rabbit is on foam tape for dimension.  I stamped "happy Easter" onto a die-cut and placed it on foam tape.  I added the ribbon on the spine to complete the card.

  • Ink:  Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate

Easter Tulip

I wanted to make something with tulips for Easter and decided to make this card.  I used white cardstock for the card base and added the layer of pattern paper, placing a scallop design in purple at the top and the bottom of it.  The scallop was made by using the top part of my heart border die!

I die-cut the tag and stamped the flower and sentiment onto it.  I attached it to the card base with foam tape for dimension, tying Orchid twine through the top.  I stamped the butterflies on the side - I inked the butterfly and stamped off one time, then stamped it on the card twice to give it a faded look to simulate the butterfly flying away.  I added a bit of glitter to the flower top.  And yes, another gloomy day to be taking pictures....

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Flower Fusion #11, Happy Day, Beautiful Butterflies
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Egg Hunt, Plum Pudding
  • Ink:  Memento Pear Tart, Dandelion; Brilliance Pearlescent Purple

Happy Easter!

I copied this idea from a card I saw on Betsy Veldman's blog during the February PTI Release.  I thought it was such a cute idea and good to use for a little girl.

I used white cardstock for the card base and added a layer of pattern paper at the top and bottom.  I die-cut the four rabbits, stamped them in brown ink and gave them light purple tails with a pompom on top.  I cut the parts off the rabbits with scalloped scissors.

I made the sentiment on the computer, cut it out with a Tag Trio die and placed it on foam tape for dimension.  I added prisma flowers with a light purple gem in the center and tied lilac ribbon around the spine.  The picture isn't that great because we've had such gloomy weather here for the past week!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Polka Dot Parade #1
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Egg Hunt
  • Ink:  Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate, Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Polka Dot Parade #1 Die; Tag Trios Nestabilities; Scalloped Scissors
  • Other:  Ribbon; Pompom; Foam Tape; Prisma Flowers; Gems

My Butt Hurts.....What??

I've seen this type of card in stores and on the Internet and thought it was time to make one myself.  I needed to make a card for a 13 year old boy, and thought (hope!) this was the right type of humor for him.

I used Spring Rain cardstock for the card base and added a layer of light blue with polka dots.  I die-cut the grass in two different colors of green.  The rabbit die-cuts were an ivory color and I wanted them to look like chocolate so I rubbed brown ink over them.  I cut the butt and ears off with scalloped scissors.

I stamped "My butt hurts" and "what?" with an alphabet stamp set onto clouds I die-cut and placed them on foam tape.  I also edged around the sentiment clouds with blue so they would stand out.  I added a few more clouds to the sky.

The "Happy Easter" sentiment was made on the computer, backed with coaster for support and placed on foam tape.  I added the googly eyes, pompom and a few Easter eggs to complete the card.  I think it turned out pretty nice!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Simple Alphabet
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Rain, Happy Spots; DCWV
  • Ink:  Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate; Memento Tuxedo Black, Summer Sky
  • Tools:  PTI Clouds Collection 1 & 2 Die, Heart-2-Heart #6 Die; Tim Holtz Rabbit; Martha Stewart Grass Border Punch; Tag Trios Nestabilities; Sizzlet Egg Die
  • Other:  Googly Eyes; Pompom; Foam Tape; Scalloped Scissors
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Enjoy Your Special Day

And again, I'm using this watercolor stamp set! This card was made for my friend who paints as a hobby, so very appropriate for her.

I used black cardstock for the card base and using one style of stamp, stamped seven different colors onto white cardstock.  I really like using this color combination!  The oval on top with the sentiment is on foam tape for dimension.

How did I get it to line up so perfectly with the images on the bottom?  I covered the bottom piece with acetate and taped the oval onto it.  Then I just lined up the stamp image on the bottom with where it would be on the oval and stamped it!  After it was done I stamped the sentiment.  I was happy when she looked at the card she realized it was "painting".

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Watercolor Wonder, Beautiful Butterflies
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Love Letter, Rose Bud, Cantaloupe, Pear Tart, Summer Sky, Sweet Plum, Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Aquatic Splash
  • Tools:  Standard Oval Nestabilities
  • Other:  Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy 3rd Birthday

I haven't used my Riley stamps in quite some time, so when I was asked to make a card for a 3 year old, I thought it was time to pull him out again.

I used Hawaiian Shores cardstock for the card base, added a layer of pink polka dot paper and rounded the bottom corners.   Riley was stamped on white cardstock and colored with Copics.

I die-cut the "picture frame" and placed Riley behind it and stamped the sentiment on the bottom.  I added the "3" in matching cardstock.  I wanted to put Reese's name on the card so punched out five stars, placing the letters of her name on each one.

Sequins are the "in" thing this year and I added a few at the bottom of the card for a little "bling"I also added glitter to his tie and the bottom of the hat.  I think this turned out really cute -- bright and cheery for a 3 year old!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Fillable Frames #1; Riley Clown; Studio G $1
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, Lemon Tart, Hibiscus Burst, White Stampers Select; Amuse Polka Dot
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Rose Bud
  • Copics:  RV10, RV14, BG23, Y11, E31, E33, E50, R81, W1

Sending You Easter Wishes

It seems like I was just posting Valentine cards and now it's almost Easter.  Easter is too early this year!

I used purple cardstock for the card base and added a layer of white paper embossed with polka dots.  I added additional layers of light purple and flowered pattern paper.  The rabbit is a Tim Holtz die-cut made from dark brown paper.

I die-cut the grass and double ended banner and stamped the sentiment.  I added ribbon around the neck and the pom-pom.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Mailbox Greetings
  • Paper:  Recollections Purple Passion; Bazzill
  • Ink:  Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate
  • Tools:  PTI Double Ended Banner Die, Polka Dot Parade #1 Die; Tim Holtz Rabbit; Martha Stewart Grass Border Punch; Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

HAPPY birthday! (CAS #7)

Watercolor Wonder stamps are really a lot of fun to use!  This card is a little outside of my "color comfort zone" - I don't normally use colors that are too bright, but somehow this worked.

I used Summer Sunrise cardstock for the card base, rounding the bottom corners.  I stamped the paint strokes onto white cardstock, alternating 3 different colors.  I stamped the sentiment in pink and black inks.

Just for fun I added a dot of black using Pearl Pen.  It helped bring the black in the sentiment out a bit.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Watercolor Wonder, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Summer Sunrise, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Lilac Posies, Angel Pink, Cantaloupe, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Black Pearl Pen

Happy Birthday

I needed to make a male birthday card and was in the mood to use chevron paper.  I was looking at a book I had where the colors were teal and black and I thought they would be nice masculine colors.

I used True Black cardstock for the card base and added a layer of the teal and white chevron paper.  I die-cut the circles, one in black and one in white.  I added a half circle of chevron paper to the top circle.  I die-cut the banner in Hawaiian Shores cardstock and stamped "happy birthday" on it and added the black brads on each end.

I cut two rectangles, one in black and one in white and placed black brads in each corner, tied Charcoal twine around the bottom and adhered it to the card base with foam tape.  Next, I cut a strip of Hawaiian Shores to place in the middle of the white paper and placed the circle over top of it, also on foam tape for dimension.

I thought the card was done, but it seemed to be missing something.  As I was looking at the card sitting on my desk, it reminded me of water waves.  My friend lives by the water so I decided to add a sailboat to the card.  I die-cut the sailboat and colored it with Copics.  I think it completed it perfectly!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Just The Ticket, Bitty Baby Blessings
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, Hawaiian Shores; Amuse Chevron
  • Ink:  Memento True Black
  • Copics:  100, BG23, BG49
  • Tools:  PTI Bitty Baby Blessings Die, Fabulous Frames Die; Standard Circle Nestabilities
  • Other:  Brads; Twine; Foam Tape; Copics
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

You Are Always....

This card introduces two new favorite craft items - Stylish Sentiments stamps from PTI and Prim Poppy die from Memory Box.

I used Kraft cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the sentiment in brown ink onto Vintage Cream cardstock.  I die-cut the poppy - the stem in Spring Moss cardstock and the flowers in Hibiscus Burst and Raspberry Fizz cardstock and adhered them to the cream cardstock.  The poppy stem is very thin and not the easiest to glue!

I tied pink twine around the bottom of the cardstock and adhered it to the Kraft on foam tape for dimension.  My final step was adding clear glitter to the flower tops.  I love the way this turned out - simple but very pretty and dainty looking.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Stylish Sentiments:  Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Vintage Cream, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Spring Moss
  • Ink:  Memento Toffee Crunch
  • Tools:  Memory Box Prim Poppy Die
  • Other:  Pink Sorbet Twine; Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

I got this layout from a sketch on Nichole's blog during the February anniversary celebration.  I like having a sketch in front of me so I don't have to think about how to design the card.  My only thinking is what paper to use!

I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base.  I used scraps of polka dot paper for the 3 stripes of paper, aligning them carefully to make the "check marks".

I stamped the sentiment in brown ink and added matching buttons on each of the stripes.  Cute layout and very easy to do!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Beautiful Butterflies
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, White Stampers Select, Happy Spots
  • Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa
  • Other:  PTI Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart, Plum Pudding Buttons
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Wish Big (CAS #6)

This is one of PTI's new stamp sets called Watercolor Wonder - it's so nice because it really does look like paint strokes!  And it makes really quick cards without a lot of fuss with embellishments!

I used Winter Wisteria cardstock for the card base and added white cardstock on top.  I randomly stamped the paint images with purple and raspberry inks. I stamped the sentiment in the middle and the card was done!

 Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Watercolor Wonder, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Winter Wisteria, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Versamagic Purple Hydrangea, Memento Lilac Posies, Tuxedo Black; Brilliance Pearlescent Purple
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

It's A Celebration

I used Lemon Tart cardstock for the card base and added a layer of yellow and brown polka dot paper, rounding the right hand corners.  I die-cut the star in red, added the lacey circle on top and placed the birthday tag on top of it, stamped in red ink on white cardstock.  The yellow circle is on foam tape for dimension.

I cut the "50" in Dark Chocolate cardstock and adhered it with more foam tape.  I used one of my Fabulous Frames dies and cut out the piece the sentiment is on, stamped in brown ink.  I die-cut additional stars and added them to the card, yes, on more foam tape!  They needed bling so I added a clear gem to each center.  My last step was tying white tulle around the spine of the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments, 2012 Birthday Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Lemon Tart, Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy, White Stampers Select, Happy Spots
  • Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa, Love Letter
  • Tools:  PTI Alpha Block Number Dies, Fabulous Frames Die, Limitless Layers: Circle Dies; Stars Nestabilities; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Gems; Tulle; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  5.5" x 5.5"

Sending Prayers

My friend used this embossing folder on one of her cards and after seeing it, of course I had to get it too!  I used Blueberry Sky cardstock for the card base.  I ran a piece of white cardstock through the Cuttlebug using the geometric rings embossing folder, embossing it at the top and bottom; the spot where the sentiment is placed is not embossed.

I stamped the sentiment and added a blue gem on either side.  The butterflies were made with my Martha Stewart punch, punched in Blueberry Sky stripes paper and adhered with a glue dot on one side so one of the butterfly wings is loose and lifted slightly off the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Beautiful Butterflies
  • Paper:  PTI Blueberry Sky, Blueberry Sky Stripes, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly Punch; Cuttlebug Geometric Rings Embossing Folder
  • Other:  Gems
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday (CAS #5)

It's a little scary that it's March already - this year is flying by!  I've been making a lot of CAS cards lately.  Sometimes it's nice not to think about using embellishments.

I used Pure Poppy cardstock for the card base.  On white cardstock, I stamped the black outlines of the hexagons and then stamped the colored ink inside of them.  I stamped the sentiment, used my inverted corner rounder and adhered the white to the card base.  I did add the jute at the last minute and think it makes the card look nicer.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Happy Hexagons, Think Big Favorites #12
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Love Letter, Cantaloupe, Tangelo, Bamboo Leaves, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Inverted Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Jute
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
