Warm Winter Wishes

I'm using Two Feet Deep again for this card, but using the other stamps in the set - skies and snowshoes!

I used Rustic White cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Pure Poppy that I embossed with a snowflake design, rubbing white ink over the embossing.  After adhering it to the card base I rounded the bottom corners.

I die-cut the snowshoes in Kraft cardstock, stamped the image on it and threaded the webbing with white twine.  I really had no idea how to string the webbing, but I think it turned out okay.  The snowshoes are on foam tape.  The skies were die-cut and stamped with light brown ink; I added a few dots in black Pearl Pen to each piece of equipment.

I cut a strip of Rustic White cardstock and stamped the sentiment in red and brown inks and placed it on foam tape for added dimension.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Two Feet Deep
  • Paper:  PTI Rustic White, Pure Poppy, Kraft
  • Ink:  PTI Pure Poppy, Fresh Snow; Memento Rich Cocoa
  • Tools:  PTI Two Feet Deep Dies; Corner Rounder; Cuttlebug Snowflakes Embossing Folder

Praying For You

I was really pleased with the way this card turned out, I think because I like purple and green together, and I just love this stamp set!

I used Winter Wisteria cardstock for the card base, rounding the bottom corners.  I stamped the flowers twice, once with the stamp fully inked, and once with the ink stamped off.  It really does add dimension to the flowers!

The leaves are stamped in green and placed randomly on the card.  I added dots to the flower centers and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

I had some leftover striped green paper that was a good match to the leaves.  I think just adding this little 1/4" strip to the card helps bring all the colors together.  I added a little bit of coarse glitter to the flowers to finish off the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Mums The Word, Boutique Borders: Sympathy, Reasons To Smile
  • Paper:  PTI Winter Wisteria, White Stampers Select, Spring Moss Stripes
  • Ink:  PTI Spring Moss; Brilliance Pearlescent Purple, Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder

Birthday Wishes (CAS #2)

Time to break out the washi tape again - the black and white tape is a new pattern I just bought.

I used Pure Poppy cardstock for the card base.  On white cardstock, I added two strips of tape on  opposite ends of the card, leaving enough space in the middle for the sentiment, stamped in red ink.

That's it - the card is done!  A quick card that makes a bold statement!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Think Big Favorites #7
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Pure Poppy
  • Other:  Washi Tape

Beautiful New Baby

I was shocked when going through my card inventory that I didn't have one baby card!  Time to restock!

I used white cardstock for the card base, added a layer of pattern paper and cut the bottoms with card edgers.  I die-cut a stitched rectangle in white and stamped the sentiment in light blue at the bottom.

The onesie is cut twice - once in matching pattern paper and once in coaster for support.  I stamped the outline of the onesie in black and added "little one" to the center.  Two silver brads were placed at the bottom to mimic the snaps.  The onesie is adhered on foam tape for a little dimension.

After placing the onesie in the middle of the rectangle it needed balance, so I stamped stars in light blue and green which match the pattern paper perfectly!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Bitty Baby Blessing, 2012 Birthday Tags, Boutique Borders: Baby
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Summer Sky, Pear Tart

Be Mine

I made this card (the idea is from Pinterest) last year and never posted it because I had so many Valentines to post.  Better late than never!

The card base is white, with a layer of dark pink and a layer of white, embossed with polka dots.  I die-cut the envelope using a Sizzix die.  Twelve hearts were die-cut in dark and light pinks and placed on, in and floating out of the envelope - with some on foam tape for dimension.

I stamped the sentiment onto two white banners and adhered them to the card.  To add a bit of bling, some of the hearts have clear gems on them.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Tag-Its #11
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Heart-2-Heart #11 Die, Countdown Details Die; Sizzix Envelope Die; Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

Feel Better Blend

Nichole (PTI) made a card similar to this a while ago and when I saw it recently, it made me want to get the mini stamp set that contained this cute little coffee/tea cup!

I started with Kraft cardstock, rounding the right hand corners and edging around it with white ink.  I stamped the tea cup and tea bag in black ink and the band in rhubarb ink.   I used a grey Copic marker to add a bit of highlights to the cup.  The tea seal is stamped in a light brown ink and the image is matted on black cardstock.

I cut a strip of wine colored paper for the bottom of the card.  The sentiment was stamped in black ink on a Kraft die-cut, edged in white ink and adhered on foam tape.  My last step was tying Charcoal twine around the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Heart-2-Heart #1, Tea For Two, Tea For Two Additions
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, True Black, White Stampers Select; The Paper Company
  • Ink:  PTI Fresh Snow; Memento Rhubarb Stalk, Toffee Crunch, Tuxedo Black

Happy 3rd Birthday

I struggled a bit making this card - first trying to come up with the right color combination and then how to put it all together!

I used Blueberry Sky cardstock for the base and added a layer of white.  On top of the white, I added a strip of Chartreuse, embossed with polka dots, a strip of wavy, multi-colored paper and another strip of Blueberry.

I die-cut the stars garland and stamped them in various blues and green.  I cut another garland, stamped "happy" on it and adhered both garlands on foam tape.  The "3" was die-cut twice, once in white and once in Chartreuse and adhered on foam tape.  The "rd" was cut in the matching wavy paper.

I stamped "birthday" in Versamark, sprinkled it with white embossing powder and embossed it with a heat tool.  I die-cut "Hudson's" name in Blueberry and adhered the letters up and down instead of just a plain straight line.  I die-cut the stitched stars and placed them on foam tape.

To complete the card, I wrapped a blue and white ribbon around the spine, tying it in a single knot.  I also added a little bit of glitter to the bottom of the stars.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Confetti Garland; Inkadinkadoo Letters
  • Paper:  PTI Simply Chartreuse, Blueberry Sky, White Stampers Select; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Danube Blue, Summer Sky, Pear Tart; Versamark

Happy Birthday

Here I go again using Reasons To Smile to make this quick card.

I started by stamping the flower images on white cardstock.  I cut Moroccan pattern paper and placed a strip of it at the top and bottom of the flowers and adhered it to a black cardstock base.

I die-cut the banner, stamped the sentiment and placed it on foam tape.  My last steps were tying Charcoal twine around the bottom of the card and adding a little glitter to the flowers.

  • Stamps:  PTI Reasons To Smile, Gracious Vases
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, White Stampers Select; Amuse Moroccan
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, New Sprout; VersaMagic Mango Madness

Enjoy Your Special Day

I'm trying to get more use out of my impression plates by embossing with them - I really need to do this more often because I really like the look of it!

For this card, I used Melon Berry cardstock as the base, impressing it with my Quatrefoil die.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink on Soft Stone cardstock, layered it on white cardstock and adhered it to the upper portion of the card.

I die-cut the flowers in Aqua Mist and stamped the centers with Versamark.  Next, I sprinkled them with white zing and heat embossed them.  I placed more flowers at the bottom and just the one on the top of the card to help balance it.

After studying the card, it needed something else and I tied the white twine at the top in a bow.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Think Big Favorites #24, Happiness in Bloom
  • Paper:  PTI Melon Berry, Soft Stone, Aqua Mist, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; Versamark

Happy 25th Anniversary

I made this card a while ago for a 25th anniversary party.

I used Soft Stone cardstock for the card base and added a layer of white cardstock, scored diagonally every half inch on the Scor-Pal.  I rounded the corners on the right hand sides to help soften the card a little.  I die-cut the doily and placed it on foam tape.

Next I die-cut the numbers, once in Soft Stone and once in silver mirror paper and placed them on the doily with additional foam tape.  I added the white pearls around the outside of the doily.

The sentiment is stamped in light grey ink on a banner die-cut in Soft Stone cardstock; I added a couple of pearls next to the sentiment.  I tied ribbon around the spine of the card - this was a nice, white ribbon with silver threading through it, so a perfect addition for a silver anniversary card!

My last step was die-cutting the hearts - a scalloped heart in silver mirror paper and a regular heart in white cardstock.  I stamped the "love" in grey ink and tied the heart to the ribbon with Stone twine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Beautiful Butterflies, Tiny Tags
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Soft Stone; Silver Mirror
  • Ink:  Amuse Seattle
  • Tools:  PTI By The Numbers Mats Dies, By The Numbers Dies, Sketched Shapes Die; Standard & Scalloped Heart Nestabilities; Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily Die; Corner Rounder; Scor-Pal

Wishing You Happiness (CAS #1)

My anniversary card inventory is low so I made this quick, simple card just in case I need one.

I used Pure Poppy cardstock for the card base - I guess I'm still in Christmas mode!  I die-cut a stitched rectangle mat and stamped the tree image and sentiment on it in light brown ink.  I added the birds and the hearts stamped in Pure Poppy ink.  Too keep up with the "red" theme, I tied Maraschino twine around the bottom of the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Love & Marriage, Year of Flowers: Carnations, Love Birds
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Pure Poppy; Brilliance Pearlescent Beige
  • Tools:  Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Mats: Rectangles
  • Other:  Twine

Happy brrrrrr-thday!

Brrrrrr is right - it's freezing here!! We're getting some of the coldest weather in decades, which makes this card perfect for someone who is celebrating a birthday now!

I used white cardstock for the card base and added three strips of blue snowflake pattern paper.  I die-cut two snowflakes and layered them on top of each other, adhering the top snowflake with foam tape for dimension.  I added a clear gem to the snowflake center.

I stamped the sentiment on a tag trio die-cut and placed it on foam tape.  My last step was tying fun fur around the card.  Yes, I'm still loving fun fur!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Two Feet Deep
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Danube Blue
  • Tools:  Lil' Inker Designs: Snowflakes; Tag Trio Nestabilities

Happy Valentine's Day (MIM #146)

Surprised to see a Valentine card already?  Ha! It will be here before we know it.

I saw that PTI posted one last Make It Monday for 2013, "Angled Backgrounds" (found here) and I decided to play along since it looked easy to do.  And since it uses scraps to make the card, I knew I had plenty of scraps leftover from last Valentine's Day.

I used white cardstock for the card base and pulled out a variety of Valentine themed pattern paper.  I used strips that were 1-1/2" or 2" wide and placed them on angles on the card.  I made a die-cut using Boutique Borders: Valentine and stamped it with the coordinating stamp set, using pink ink for the border and black ink for the sentiment.  I adhered it to the card with foam tape.

The card was too plain looking to me so I ended up adding two little gems to the sentiment and tied white tulle around the bottom of the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Boutique Borders: Valentine
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select; Miscellaneous Scraps
  • Ink:  Memento Rose Bud, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Boutique Borders: Valentine Die
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Gems; Tulle
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

It feels good to get back in the groove of making regular cards again.  The holiday season seems like it lasts so long in the crafting world.

I used Hawaiian Shores cardstock for the card base and embossed it with basket weave.  This is a new Darice folder I just bought.  I stamped "happy birthday" on Spring Moss cardstock, cut with an angle die and embossed it with white Zing embossing powder using my heat tool.

I die-cut the flowers in Hibiscus Burst cardstock, embossed them in white Zing embossing powder and adhered them to the card on foam tape.  I cut a few leaves in Spring Moss and randomly placed them on the card.

To embellish the card, I added clear flower gems to each of the flower centers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Think Big Favorites #12, Happiness In Bloom
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, Spring Moss, Hibiscus Burst
  • Ink:  Versamark
  • Tools:  PTI Beautiful Blooms II Dies, Happiness In Bloom Dies; Lil' Inker Designs On The Diagonal Die

Happy 2014!

It's so hard to believe that another year has gone by so quickly.....the years seem to be going by faster and faster!  I really like my new Propose A Toast stamp set and couldn't wait to use it, and what better occasion than to celebrate ringing in a New Year!

I used True Black cardstock for the base of this card, adding a layer of Hibiscus Burst.  On white cardstock, I stamped the clock face, placing the clock hand slightly after midnight.  The clock is stamped in a light grey ink and the numbers and hands in black ink.

I stamped the confetti in Hibiscus Burst ink and dotted it with silver Stickles.  I stamped the 2014 with happy above it at a slight angle.  I'm so happy I finally have a nice set of numbers stamps to use...these are from the new Inside & Outside: Love stamp set.  I die-cut the two champagne flutes and used a light beige ink for the "champagne".  I placed champagne Stickles at the top of the glass to mimic bubbles and adhered the flutes on foam tape for dimension.

Happy New Year - wishing you and yours a happy and healthy 2014!
