With Sympathy

This is the last card I'm going to post (for now) using Botanical Silhouettes (I'm sure you'll see this set pop up on here again and again!).  I don't know why I decided to use an orange color because I don't tend to use that color very often, but it just seemed right for this card.  I used Kraft for the card base and topped it with a piece of Orange Zest and white cut with Card Edgers #3.  I stamped the flowers, the sentiment and added the bee (again!)  Instead of using glitter, I put a few crystals on the flowers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Botanical Silhouettes 2010 Anniversary Set
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Orange Zest
  • Tools:  PTI Card Edgers #3
  • Other:  Crystals, Jolee's Stickers, Memento Tangelo, Cantaloupe, Bamboo Leaves Ink
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

And another card using Botanical Silhouettes!  I had the most fun making this card - it's nice to just stamp and not use my Copics for a change!  I used Plum Pudding for the card base topped with white card stock cut with Card Edgers #3.  I stamped the stems and then added the flowers in 3 different colors of purple.  I added the sentiment (just love this font!!), a little glitter on the dark purple flowers, twine and the bee.  You'll notice this bee showing up on a lot of my cards recently....it just adds the perfect touch!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Botanical Silhouettes 2010 Anniversary Set
  • Paper:  PTI Plum Pudding
  • Tools:  PTI Card Edgers #3
  • Other:  Twine, Jolee's Sticker, Brilliance Pearlescent Purple Ink, Mememto Sweet Plum, Lulu Lavender Inks

Thank You

You are going to see quite a few cards posted using the new PTI anniversary set "Botanical Silhouettes" because I can't stop using this set!  This card base is Pure Poppy and I topped it with white cardstock cut with PTI's Card Edgers #3.  I stamped 3 sets of the stems and then randomly stamped the flowers in red ink.  I added a touch of yellow to the flower centers and then edged around the white with a little more yellow.  I added the sentiment, a few crystals to the larger flowers and the bee.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Botanical Silhouettes 2010 Anniversary Set
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, Stampers Select White
  • Tools:  PTI Card Edgers #3 Collection

Tulips Birthday Take 2

Well, just to show how much I like this stamp and how versatile is it, I'm using it again.  This is a little different from the previous card I used with this stamp.  For this card I used Melon Berry for the card base and topped it with a layer of white.  I stamped the tulips on an angle and colored them with one of my favorite Copics color combos - shades of prawn.  I drew the black line with a fine tip marker to frame the image.  I stamped the sentiment, put a little glitter on the flowers and added a bow made of twine to make it look like the stems are tied together.  Happy Birthday Maureen!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Friendship Jar Spring Fillers, Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Melon Berry, Stamper's Select White
  • Other:  Black Fine Point Marker, Martha Stewart Glitter, Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Botanical Silhouettes

Well, it's my favorite time of month when my PTI purchases arrive...and this month included their "anniversary set" called "Botanical Silhouettes" - which I think is their best anniversary set ever!  I used white for the card base and topped it with a layer of black and a layer of Lavender Moon (a color I rarely use).  The entire image is made with stamp ink (no Copics) and I placed it on 3d foamies for dimension.  I added the ribbon, some glitter on the flower tips and a cute little bee.  Don't you just love the font on the sentiment?

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Botanical Silhouettes 2010 Anniversary Set
  • Paper:  PTI Lavender Moon
  • Tools:  Standard Square Nestabilities
  • Other:  Martha Stewart Glitter, Jolee's Stickers, Celebrate It Ribbon, 3D Foamies

Thinking Of You

I started to color this stamp image and then found the perfect Stampin' Up paper to match it!  The image is a Lockhart stamp called "Tulip Window"....seeing these flowers just reminds me of Spring!  I used white for the card base and then topped it with the Stampin' Up striped paper and a piece of PTI Orange Zest.  The image is colored with Copics and layered on a piece of Spring Rain.  I rounded the card corners, added the sentiment and a bit of glitter to the tulips.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Lockhart Tulip Window, PTI Vintage Picnic Sentiments
  • Paper:  Stampin' Up, PTI Orange Zest, Spring Rain
  • Tools:  Standard Square Nestabilities, Corner Rounder

New Home #2

I've been getting a lot of requests for new home cards recently.  I really like this set from PTI, Boards & Beams and used it a little differently than my past new home cards.  I saw this style on Nichole's blog so thought I would make something similar.  I used Kraft for the card base and stamped the images onto white cardstock - it was a lot of fun "creating" the house and yard.  The image is colored with Copics, (I decided to use beige, brown and blue colors for a change), mounted on Blueberry Sky card stock and wrapped with twine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Boards & Beams
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Blueberry Sky
  • Other:  Copics, Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Cupcake Birthday

I really like the combination of red and brown and since I needed to make a male birthday card, thought the colors would work well.  I used Kraft for the card base and added Pure Poppy and a beige/white pattern paper.  I added the brown binding edge border and wrapped a bit of twine around it.  I cut circles of Kraft, brown and white, stamping the white with a red fluted circle and added a Jolee cupcake sticker.  For the final touch, I stamped happy birthday on a banner die.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments, Tag-Its #1
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Pure Poppy; Stampin' Up
  • Tools:  Standard Circle Nestabilities, PTI Double-Ended Banner Die, EK Success Binding Edge Border Punch, Corner Rounder

Sweet Baby

I know several people who are expecting, so lately I've been making quite a few baby cards.  I've had a couple packs of Jolee's baby stickers and wanted to use them for some time.  The card base is white, topped with layers of lavender and patterned lavender.  I used the Jolee's stickers and added the "sweet baby" metal wording at the bottom.  I used PTI's card edgers to shape the bottom of the card.  A simple, but cute card!

Card Details:
  • Paper:  DCWV
  • Tools:  PTI Card Edgers #1
  • Other:  Jolee's Stickers, Adhesive Die-Cut Metal Words
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Birthday Wishes

This is one of the "Make It Monday" projects featured on PaperTreyInk called "Embossing With Dies".  I used Kraft for the card base and edged around it with a bit of Fresh Snow ink.  I embossed the clouds into a piece of Spring Rain paper and lightly tapped it with Fresh Snow ink to make it look like wispy clouds in the background.  The clouds are cut with white paper, tapped with a little bit of blue ink and mounted on 3d foamies for dimension.  I stamped the kites, cut them out and placed them on top of the kite tails.  The sentiment is stamped on Linen Vellum; I added a strip of patterned paper to bring out the kite colors and a touch of jute.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Up, Up & Away
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Spring Rain, Linen Vellum
  • Tools:  PTI Up, Up & Away Die, Clouds 1 & 2 Die Collection, Double-Ended Banner Die

How Are You?

You know I think Riley is so cute....here he is just sitting under the tree, relaxing and enjoying the Spring weather.  Riley is colored with Copics; I tapped some blue distress ink for the sky, otherwise it looked too white to me.  I cut out the image using Labels Seven nestabilities and mounted it onto pink and green pattern paper with 3d foamies.  There's a layer of pink behind that and a pink ribbon around the card.  I wanted to add some bling so put a crystal on the flower.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Riley Under The Tree, PTI Flower Fusion #1
  • Paper:  DCWV, Stampin' Up
  • Tools:  Labels Seven Nestabilities
  • Other:  Offray Ribbon, Crystal
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Tulips Birthday

I seem to use the same colors all the time and wanted this card to be a color I seldom use.  I love this flower stamp and thank goodness my craft/PTI buddy (*waving* to Linda) had it!  This is from PTI's "jar fillers" series; I think the details on their flower stamps are amazing!  I used white for the card base and added a layer of Summer Sunrise polka dot.  The image is colored with Copics of course!  I wanted to bring out the colors of the flowers and stems and decided to use green as the next layer and then another layer of solid Summer Sunrise.  The colors match perfectly, don't you think?  I tied some yellow and white twine around the card and mounted it on 3d foamies for dimension.  To finish the card, I added the "mom" tag, the birthday sentiment, a couple jewels and highlighted the flowers with a sparkle pen.  Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Friendship Jar Spring Fillers, Tea For Two Additions, Tiny Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Summer Sunrise, 2008 Bitty Dot Basics; DCWV
  • Tools:  PTI Tiny Tags, Double-Ended Banners

Happy Mother's Day!

I saw this card on Splitcoaststampers (link for instructions) a while back and knew it would make the perfect mother's day card for my mom.  I can remember her making quilts when I was younger and I still have one of them.  I wanted to use Spring colors and decided on lavender, green and purple.   I cut 29 squares with a 3/4" square nestability and lined them up using graph paper as a guide.  One I had the "quilt" completed, I put it on a layer of lavender paper and using 3d foamies, mounted it onto Vintage Cream cardstock.  I edged around the cream cardstock with a little bit of green (it looked a little too plain), added the sentiment and ribbon.  Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Quilter's Sampler
  • Paper:  PTI Vintage Cream, Stampin' Up, Bazzill
  • Tools:  Standard Square Nestabilities
  • Other:  Joann's Organdy Ribbon, 3d Foamies
  • Card Size:  5.25" x 5.25"

Happy 60th Birthday!

Today is my friend's 60th birthday - how did that happen???  Of course I have to rub it in a bit...hehe.  I used white for the card base and topped it with a layer of Spring Moss and a layer of black.  I wanted something a bit festive so used a green, colorful patterned paper.  I cut out a pinking circle in the patterned paper and put blue behind it, then added circles of Hibiscus Burst and Spring Moss.  I mounted the patterned paper on chipboard for support and raised it with 3d foamies.  I added the 60, a few stars and the ribbon.  Happy 60th Birthday Arlene!!!!

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Moss, Hibiscus Burst; Bazzill
  • Tools:  Pinking Circles Nestabilities, PTI By The Numbers Dies
  • Other:  Celebrate It Ribbon, 3D Foamies, Adhesive Stars, Chipboard

Engagement

I see this type of card from time to time and always wanted to make one, so here it is!  I used white for the card base and topped it with a layer of two different light greens since I wanted the card to be "spring like".  The hearts were made with nestabilities.  For the "bride" I ran it through an embossing folder so it would appear to look like lace and added pearls.  For the "groom", I cut a piece of white for the shirt, added two brads for buttons and put two small hearts together to create the bow.  I tied a ribbon around the card and added the sentiment (created on computer).  This style card could be used for an engagement, anniversary or wedding card!

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Moss, Stampin' Up
  • Tools:  Standard Heart Nestabilities, Scalloped Long Nestabilities
  • Other:  Brads, Celebrate It Ribbon, Pearls, Textile Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Vintage Garden Chair

This is another stamp I've had for quite a while and thought it would be nice for an upcoming Spring or Summer birthday - "take time to relax.....and enjoy your birthday"!  The stamp is from Lockhart, called "Vintage Garden Chair" and it reminds me of the chairs we sat on when I was a kid. I used white for the cardbase, topped with a layer of bright blue patterned paper from Stampin' Up.  The image is colored with Copics and cut out with nestabilities.  As a final step I added a bit of jute on the card spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Lockhart Vintage Garden Chair, PTI A Day At The Beach
  • Paper:  Stampin' Up, PTI Stamper's Select White
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder, Labels Three Nestabilities
  • Other:  Copics, Jute
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
