Have A Superstar Birthday

Here I am using stars again....I recently bought these stitched stars dies from Lil' Inker Designs and just adore them!

I used Ripe Avocado for the card base and added a layer of Spring Moss striped pattern paper.  For the stars, I wanted to use colors I don't normally use and selected Summer Sunrise, Pure Poppy and Orange Zest in addition to the Ripe Avocado.

For the largest star, I scored and folded it to create a dimensional look!  Very easy to do and adds a little something extra to the card.  I stamped the sentiment in green and tied the jute around the top of the card.  I'm really happy with the way this turned out!  And you can actually see the stitching in the photo!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Lil' Inker Bunny Star
  • Paper:  PTI Ripe Avocado, Summer Sunrise, Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Spring Moss Striped
  • Ink:  Memento Olive Green
  • Tools:  Lil' Inker Stitched Stars; Scor-Pal
  • Other:  Jute
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday (CAS #36)

This is a technique I saw on Pinterest - where you take masking tape or Washi tape, place it on top of a stamp pad, rub it lightly to get ink on it and then transfer the ink to your cardstock, again by rubbing the tape.  Each time you do it you get a different look - paint-like stripes where no two stripes are the same.

I used white cardstock for the card base and rounded the bottom corners.  I selected pink and green inks, using different sizes of Washi tape - 3/4" and 1/2".  After I had all the ink stripes on the card, I stamped the sentiment in black.

I remembered I had these pink adhesive stars and thought they made a great addition to the card!  (The colors on this card are much prettier in person - I have trouble taking photos of white cards.)

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Rose Bud, Pear Tart, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Adhesive Gems; Washi Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Birthday Wishes

It's Autumn and I'm enjoying using all leaf stamps!  This is another male card - leaves are always good for a male card!

I used Kraft cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the leaves in Olive Grove ink (a new favorite of mine) on Rustic White cardstock; some of the leaves are fully inked and some have the ink stamped off to make it look like two different colors.

I die-cut a Mat Stack 3 die and stamped it with Olive Grove ink, adding the two "different" color green leaves in the circle.  The sentiment is stamped in a dark brown ink and placed on foam tape.

To add a little "male bling", I tied jute, threaded with a wood button around the bottom.  I really like the way this card turned out!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Leaf Prints, Mat Stack 3 Collection, Wishes Come True
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Rustic White
  • Ink:  Memento Olive Grove; Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate
  • Tools:  PTI Mat Stack 3 Die
  • Other:  PTI Wood Button; Jute; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Your Birthday Is A Special Day...

Okay, maybe I'm cheating putting two of the same type cards back to back - but I wanted you to see how easy it is to use the same idea for a male inspired card for a female card.

I used white cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Raspberry Fizz cardstock.  On a piece of white cardstock, embossed with stitching, I stamped one balloon in a dark pink ink.  I die-cut a second balloon, stamped it with a lighter pink and placed it on foam tape.  I stamped the balloon strings, bow and sentiment.

Notice the balloon and sentiment have flowers?  This entire card coordinates...that's why I used a flower stamp to randomly stamp the background.  I placed a small gem in the flower centers for a bit of bling.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Balloon Bash
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Raspberry Fizz
  • Ink:  Memento Rose Bud, Angel Pink
  • Tools:  PTI Balloon Bash Die; Lil' Inker Stitched Mats: Rectangles
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Gems
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Hoping All Of Your Birthday Wishes...

I'm all about balloons and stars - I like making anything with them.  For this card, I wanted to make a masculine card.  I'm getting better at it, and to me, that's an accomplishment since most people I talk to think it's much harder to make cards for the guys than the girls.  I agree.

I used Kraft cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Enchanted Evening cardstock.  On white cardstock, I stamped one balloon in dark blue.  I die-cut a balloon and stamped it with a lighter blue and placed it on foam tape.  I stamped the balloon strings and tie in opposite colors for each balloon.

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom and randomly stamped the stars in light blue and brown inks.  The entire image was stamped on a stitched rectangle.  This card is completely coordinated by using the star stamps!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Balloon Bash, Masculine Motifs
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Enchanted Evening, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Blue Danube, Summer Sky, Toffee Crunch
  • Tools:  PTI Balloon Bash Die; Lil' Inker Stitched Mats: Rectangles
  • Other:  Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

I think this pattern paper is so pretty so I didn't want to cover up too much of it.

I used Raspberry Fizz cardstock for the card base, cutting the bottom with Card Edgers and did the same to the pattern paper.  Using the Boutique Borders Sympathy die, I cut one in Vintage Cream cardstock another one in Raspberry Fizz.

The sentiment is stamped on the cream in grey ink with a pink ink background.  I cut the Raspberry Fizz cardstock in half and placed it behind the cream to give it a layered look.  This is such an easy thing to do and produces a nice effect.

I placed the sentiment on foam tape for dimension.  I tied a pink ribbon around the bottom and added a couple of gems above and below the sentiment.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Boutique Borders: Birthday, Boutique Borders: Sympathy
  • Paper:  PTI Raspberry Fizz, Vintage Cream; Tracey Porter Colorbok
  • Ink:  Memento Rose Bud; Amuse Seattle
  • Tools:  PTI Card Edgers #1, Boutique Borders: Sympathy Die
  • Other:  Ribbon; Gems
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

We're Just Better, Together

I wanted to make a different type of anniversary card and pulled out my Milk & Cookies stamp set.

I used Hawaiian Shores cardstock for the card base and stamped the images onto white cardstock that I embossed with a stitched rectangle die.  The cookies, flag and sentiment are in chocolate brown.....I think this brown looks just like the Oreo cookie color!  I stamped the straws in turquoise to match the card base.  The flag is stamped, cut out and placed on foam tape for dimension.

After the card was completed, it seemed like it was too hard to see the bottle image so I colored it with a light grey Copic marker.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  WPlus9 Cookies & Milk
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Soft Stone; Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate; VersaMagic Turquoise Gem
  • Copics:  C00
  • Tools:  Lil' Inker Stitched Mats: Rectangles
  • Other:  Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

I bought these K&Company dimension stickers in the Joann's clearance section, probably last summer.  It's time to use them!  I picked a flower in pink and one in purple and made two cards.

I used Sweet Blush/Winter Wisteria cardstock for the card base, rounding the right hand corners.  On a piece of white cardstock, I stamped the crackled image in VersaMark ink and sprinkled it with Blush/Lavender Zing embossing powder and heat embossed it.

I stamped the sentiment on the bottom in black ink.  I adhered the 3D flowers to the center and tied the ribbon around the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Gracious Vases, Crackled
  • Paper:  PTI Sweet Blush, Winter Wisteria, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder

Thank You (CAS #35)

Yes, back to back thank you cards, but this big thank you is because today is the first day of Autumn and Summer is officially over!  Yippee!  I can't wait for the cool, crisp weather to begin!!

This was a quick and simple card to make.  I used Orange Zest cardstock for the card base and rounded the bottom corners.  The leaves are stamped in various "fall" colors onto Rustic Cream cardstock.  Some of the leaves are stamped fully inked and some with the ink stamped off first.

I stamped the thank you in black and added a little bit of glitter on the leaves.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Masculine Motifs, Think Big Favorites #4
  • Paper:  PTI Orange Zest, Rustic Cream
  • Ink:  Memento Tangelo, Dandelion, Love Letter, Bamboo Leaves, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Thank You

I really haven't used masking that much on cards, but when I saw this on Amber's blog, Damask Love, I knew I wanted to try it.  She has a tutorial how to do it here, which explains it better than I can!

I used Pinefeather cardstock for the card base, rounding the bottom corners.  I die-cut the flowers with white copy paper and adhered them with a little bit of adhesive to a piece of white cardstock.  Next, I stamped the leaves all around the flowers, making sure I covered all of the edges so the flowers would turn out in full.  The leaves are stamped in three colors of green ink:  two lighter greens for the leaves and a darker green for the veins.

Once the stamping was done, I took off the flowers and it left the images of the white flowers!  I stamped the sentiment and the flower centers in the same dark green I used for the leave veins.  Last step was adding pearls to the flower centers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Happiness In Bloom, Lovely Layers, Botanical Silhouettes
  • Paper:  PTI Pinefeather, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Bamboo Leaves, Pear Tart, Northern Pine
  • Tools:  PTI Beautiful Blooms II; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Pearls
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday Banners (Scraps)

I already cleaned out some of my solid cardstock scraps so it was time to look through my patterned paper.

I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Ocean Tides and white cardstock on top of it, leaving a little space in the middle  Going through my scraps, I picked out some coordinating papers and die-cut them into banners.

I die-cut the larger banner at the bottom, stamped it with a diagonal image in light blue and stamped happy birthday.  The sentiment is on foam tape.

To complete the card I added the 3 silver metal dots to the horizontal banner.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Sketched Shapes
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, White Stampers Select, 2008 Bitty Boxes Basics, Everyday Blessings, Polka Dot Parade
  • Ink:  VersaMagic Aquatic Splash, Tuxedo Black

I wanted to use a different color for a card and pulled out Simply Chartreuse cardstock and used it for the card base.

I stamped the flowers and leaves on white cardstock, using blue, green and purple inks.  The sentiment is stamped on an oval die-cut, layered onto a scalloped oval of Simply Chartreuse and placed foam tape.

To finish the card, I tied a light blue ribbon around the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Happiness in Bloom, Harvest Berries, Embroidered Blooms
  • Paper:  PTI Simply Chartreuse, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Summer Sky, Pear Tart, Lulu Lavender; VersaMagic Hydrangea

Beautiful New Baby

I just realized I've been making a lot of boy cards recently and need to make some girl cards too.

I used Spring Rain for the card base, cutting the bottom with card edgers.  I randomly stamped the teddy bears in blue ink on white cardstock, adding his chest in light brown and the bow in a darker blue.  I saw that the stamp set included a paw and stamped it on the card in the same light brown ink.

The sentiment is stamped in light brown and blue onto a die-cut and placed on foam tape for dimension.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Polka Dot Parade #4, Boutique Borders: Baby
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Rain, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Summer Sky; Brilliance Pearlescent Beige, Pearlescent Sky Blue
  • Tools:  PTI Card Edgers #4, Boutique Borders: Baby Die

Happy Birthday (CAS #34)

For this card, I just started playing around stamping circles on white cardstock in different colors using Sketched Shapes and liked the way it looked!

 Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Sketched Shapes
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Rose Bud, Sweet Plum, Cantaloupe, Pear Tart, Tangelo, Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Turquoise Gem

Smile

Reasons To Smile is the free set I received with my PTI Stamp-a-faire purchase.  I'm so glad I decided to order that day to get this set because I'm really having fun creating cards with it.

I used Melon Berry cardstock for the card base, stamping stripes diagonally across it in the same color ink (an idea I got from Betsy Veldman).  I stamped the flowers in orange and melon inks and the flowers in a bright green.  I stamped the birthday sentiment in orange ink and placed "Smile" on an angle above it.  I think the angle adds to the card!

I distressed around the edges of the white and tied marigold twine around it.  The white is adhered to the card on foam tape for dimension.  For embellishment, I added a clear gem to each of the flower centers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Reasons To Smile (2013 SAF), Background Basics: Super Stripes
  • Paper:  PTI Melon Berry, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tangelo, Cantaloupe, Pear Tart; VersaMagic Pink Grapefruit

Celebrate Your Day!

I'm still playing with my flower WPlus9 stamps and used them on this card.

I used New Leaf cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the flowers in cantaloupe and dandelion inks with a black center, and the leaves in new sprout and bamboo leaves inks.  The sentiment is also stamped in black ink.

I ran the image through the Cuttlebug with my Stripes Impression plate to give it a little texture.  I placed it on the card so the green would show on either side of the stamped image.  I tied Seaweed twine around the card as my embellishment.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Signature Greetings; WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals
  • Paper:  PTI New Leaf, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Dandelion, Cantaloupe, New Sprout, Bamboo Leaves
  • Tools:  PTI Stripes Impression Plate

Best Wishes

I just saw that Memory Box is coming out with 70+ new dies......yikes!  I don't want to look because I know I'll want to get too many of them!

I wanted to make this an all white card and used white cardstock for the cardbase and added a layer of white, embossed with polka dots.  I used a border punch on the bottom to give it a lacey look.  I die-cut the Honey Blossom Sprig and attached it to the card, first spraying the sprig with Perfect Pearls "perfect pearl" mist to give it a little shimmer.

The hearts were created with standard and scalloped nestabilities, layered, adding a pearl center.  The bottom heart is on foam tape.  The sentiment is stamped on a 1" white strip in smokey grey ink (I thought black was too harsh).  I added a few more pearls and the ribbon and made this into an anniversary card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Botanical Silhouettes
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Versafine Smokey Grey
  • Tools:  Memory Box Honey Blossom Sprig; Standard and Scalloped Heart Nestabilities; Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edge Border Punch

Happy Birthday

It's Friday the 13th....are you superstitious???

I haven't used my Flower Fusion stamp sets for some time and pulled a few out to play with.

I used Raspberry Fizz cardstock for the card base.  On white, I stamped the flowers in pink and the stems in green.  I placed a piece of Washi tape diagonally in the upper left corner and stamped the sentiment underneath.  A little different than your normal horizontal sentiment.

I added black brads for the flower centers.  I stamped the butterfly and dotted "flying tail", adding a black gem to the butterfly center.  I used my clear star gelly roll pen on the flying tail to give it a little sparkle.  No foam tape!! *faint*

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Flower Fusion 5, Flower Fusion 6, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday, Places Please, Frog Hop
  • Paper:  PTI Raspberry Fizz, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Rose Bud, New Sprout, Tuxedo Black

Happy First Birthday

I have a thing for stars.....I can't get enough of them.....I like them in any shape or size.....I like to use them a lot.  haha

This card was easy for me to pick the colors I used since I started with this multi-colored confetti paper, so half the work was already done for me!  I used Spring Rain cardstock for the card base and added the layer of confetti paper.  I die-cut the stars in Spring Moss, Spring Rain and orange paper and attached them to the card.

I die-cut the circle in Winter Wisteria, the star in Spring Moss and the "1" in Spring Rain.  I stamped "for you grandson" on the circle and placed both the star and "1" on foam tape for extra dimension.

I cut a strip of Spring Rain, snipping the ends to create a banner.  I die-cut Will's name and placed it on the banner, using a star instead of a dot for the "i" in his name.  I stamped the sentiment and added another orange star on the left side.

To complete the card, I tied green ribbon around the spine and added a metal star on top of the orange star.  Too bad I don't have a stamp that says "superstar"!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Bitty Baby Blessings, Masculine Motifs, Tiny Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Rain, Spring Moss, Winter Wisteria; Imaginisce "All Kinds Of Happy"; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Praying For You

Today is September 11 and hard to believe it's been 12 years since things changed forever for our country.  It's such a sad day - posting a sympathy card seemed appropriate to me.

I used Vintage Cream cardstock for the card base, embossed with my linen impression plate and rounded at the bottom.  I used a strip of Melon Berry tea leaves paper down the center.  I stamped the sentiment in brown ink onto a die-cut made from Boutique Borders Sympathy in Melon Berry cardstock.  I die-cut another in Vintage Cream, cut it in half and adhered it to the back of the Melon Berry to create this layered look.  I'd love to take credit for this idea, but I saw it on Ashley Cannon Newell's blog and copied her idea.  Thanks Ashley!

The sentiment is on foam tape for dimension.  The bottom of the card definitely needed something so I die-cut the two butterflies and placed cream Pearl Pen in the centers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Boutique Borders: Sympathy
  • Paper:  PTI Vintage Cream, Green Tea Leaves, Melon Berry
  • Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa
  • Tools:  PTI Linen & Canvas Impression Plate, Boutique Borders: Sympathy Die; Corner Rounder; Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch

Adoption Wishes

My friend just adopted a baby boy - I didn't even know I had an "adoption" stamp until I was looking through my baby sets!  I'm happy I can use it on her card!

I used Spring Rain cardstock for the card base and added a layer of blue and brown polka dots paper, rounding the bottom corners.  I cut a 1" strip of the polka dot paper, which is double-sided, and used the other side to give the card some contrast.

Using the same polka dot paper, I made the pinwheel using my Lil' Inkers pinwheel die, adding a blue button and Flax twine in the middle.  The handle of the pinwheel is a lollipop stick that I tied blue ribbon around.  I placed the pinwheel on a doily I die-cut in white cardstock.

For the sentiment, I stamped "adoption" wishes in black ink onto a Tag Trio die-cut, reinforced on coaster and placed on foam tape for dimension.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Bitty Baby Blessings
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Rain, White Stampers Select; Heidi Grace
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Lil' Inker Mini Pinwheel Die; Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily Die; Tag Trio Die; Corner Rounder

With Heartfelt Sympathy (CAS #33)

I was looking through my paper scraps and saw this strip of green leaves paper and wanted to use it for something.

I used Ripe Avocado cardstock for the card base since it matched the leaves.  Using long rectangle nestabilities, I die-cut the opening in the white cardstock, embossing around the edges.  I adhered the green leaves paper behind the window.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink, rounded the upper right hand corner and adhered it to the card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Through The Trees
  • Paper:  PTI Ripe Avocado, White Stampers Select, Green Tea Leaves
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Long Rectangles Nestabilities; Corner Rounder
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

I saw a card a while ago on Debbie Olson's blog that had these flowers (she made her's from coffee filters but I used regular pattern paper).  I looked to see what type of die-cut she used and bought it - it's called "Rose Creations" from Spellbinders.  It's a set of 9 dies:  6 flower sizes and 3 leaf sizes.  I had to watch a video on YouTube to see how to make them, but now that I know, I'll be using this set more often!

I used Royal Velvet cardstock for the card base, added a layer of Vintage Cream cardstock and a strip of coordinating pattern paper.  I rounded just the lower right hand corner.  I made the roses from purple pattern paper - there are 6 layers of flowers (2 large, 2 medium, 2 small) that are die-cut, shaped and put together with a little bit of glue and a silver brad.  For the leaves I used some embossed paper that I've had for ages....it's paper I bought and really had no use in mind for it.  haha

I stamped the sentiment in brown ink onto a die-cut of Winter Wisteria cardstock.  The sentiment is on foam tape for dimension.  The card needed some dressing up so I tied ivory ribbon around the middle.  I'm so happy with the way this turned out!

Here's a close-up of the flowers so you can see how dimensional they are:

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Gracious Vases
  • Paper:  PTI Royal Velvet, Vintage Cream, Winter Wisteria, Chocolate Remix; HOTP
  • Ink:  Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate
  • Tools:  Spellbinders Rose Creations Dies; PTI Fabulous Frames Die; Corner Rounder

Ticket To Celebrate

I seem to always use the same colors for my cards - I need to step out of the box once in a while!  haha

I picked out the striped paper first and selected the other colors to use by matching them to the stripes.  The striped paper is on a white cardstock card base, with rounded corners at the bottom.  This is a double sided paper, the light green flowered strip at the left side of the card is the other side of the paper.  I cut a 1-1/2" strip of it and punched the doily lace border.

I stamped the bike onto white cardstock in lilac ink, adding the little lavender bird, hitching a ride on the basket.  I stamped the sentiment and die-cut the image with deckled nestabilities.  I added mini silver brads to the bike wheels and mounted the image on Winter Wisteria cardstock, and of course, on foam tape!

I die-cut a few tickets in Sweet Blush cardstock and stamped them in the same 3 ink colors.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Just The Ticket, Bountiful Banners; Stampin' Up Moving Forward
  • Paper:  PTI Winter Wisteria, Sweet Blush, White Stampers Select; Imaginise
  • Ink:  Memento Lilac Posies, Lulu Lavender, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Just The Ticket Border Die; Rectangle Deckled Nestabilities; Corner Rounder; Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edge Border Punch

Happy Birthday

This Mum's The Word set certainly is getting a lot of use!  And this card is a little different for me, but I wanted to make a card with burlap.  Burlap is another trend right now and I have a huge roll of it!

I stamped the mums on white cardstock, first in rose bud ink and then re-stamped them in angel pink ink to create a light/dark petal image.  The leaves were stamped in tea leaves ink.  I fussy cut the flowers and leaves and adhered them to a piece of burlap; the bottom flower is on foam tape.  I used white cardstock for the card base, adding a layer of Raspberry Fizz polka dot paper.  I attached the burlap and tied a ribbon around the middle.

I die-cut the banner, stamped it with the sentiment and adhered it with foam tape.  I added the gems to the flower centers to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Mum's The Word, Gracious Vases
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Raspberry Fizz Polka Dots
  • Ink:  Memento Rose Bud, Angel Pink, Tuxedo Black; VersaMark Tea Leaves
  • Tools:  PTI Fabulous Frames Die
  • Other:  Burlap; Gems; Foam Tape; Ribbon

Celebrate Celebrate Celebrate

I'm trying to use some different techniques and things I haven't used yet - and Zing embossing powder is one of them.  I bought a lot of colors and really haven't used them very much!

I stamped Celebrate 3 times onto True Black cardstock and embossed them in two different Zing colors - Aqua and Powder.  I added the white smears on the black to give the appearance of chalk and adhered the "chalkboard" to a Hawaiian Shores card base.

I die-cut the balloons in Raspberry Fizz and Aqua Mist, placing them on foam tape for dimension.  I die-cut the star border in Aqua Mist and used the little star cut-outs on the card.  It needed more color so I cut some additional little Raspberry Fizz stars and placed them inside the Aqua star border and on the card.

My last step was adding the balloon strings in Caribbean and Pink Sorbet twine.  Such a bright and colorful card!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Amuse Eat Cake
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz, Aqua Mist, True Black
  • Ink:  PTI Fresh Snow; VersaMark
  • Tools:  PTI Birthday Style Die, Star Border
  • Other:  Twine; Foam Tape; Heat Gun; Zing Embossing Powder

Congrats On Your Engagement

Someone asked me for an engagement card a while back and I didn't have any and decided I needed to make one for my inventory.

On white cardstock I stamped the tree image in aqua ink and the sentiment in black ink.  I ran the image through the Cuttlebug using my Linen Impression Plate to give it some texture.  I wrapped a piece of aqua ribbon around the bottom and adhered the white onto an Aqua Mist cardstock card base.

I die-cut the two hearts in Aqua Mist paper and placed them on the tree, adding two pearls in the centers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Congrats All Ways, Love & Marriage
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Aquatic Splash
  • Tools:  PTI Heart-2-Heart #11 Dies, Linen & Canvas Impression Plate

What's One More Candle?

This is such a cute birthday stamp set and also has matching candle dies, which I haven't used yet.  Stay tuned!

I used white cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the candles onto a white stitched mat using 5 of my favorite colors.  I stamped the candle flames and the sentiment and adhered the mat on foam tape on top of a layer of Raspberry Fizz striped paper.

It was hard trying to decide which color twine I wanted to tie around the card and picked Cantaloupe.

Hi - Happy Birthday

I've been wanting conversation bubbles for the longest time but couldn't find ones I really liked.  Well   imagine how happy I was when PTI released these this month!  And matching dies too!

I used Orange Zest cardstock for my card base.  I stamped the bubble images on Rustic White cardstock, popping up the green bubble on foam tape for dimension.  I adhered the white cardstock, adding two stripes of green cardstock down the sides.

I couldn't decide whether to use Mandarin or Marigold twine - so I left both of them on the card!  I think it looks pretty good with two colors of twine!

  • Ink:  Memento Tangelo, Cantaloupe, Bamboo Leaves, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Bubble Talk Die

Happy September!

It's a good thing I write down what I use on my cards because half the time I can't remember!  For this one, I used Summer Sunrise for the card base.  I  took a piece of white cardstock and scored 4 lines about an inch in from the edges on all four sides, just to give it a little bit of texture.

I die-cut the flowers using matching Summer Sunrise pattern paper and adhered them to the white using gold brads.  I stamped the leaves in light green and the sentiment in black.  No foam tape!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Everyday Button Bits, Turning A New Leaf
  • Paper:  PTI Summer Sunrise, White Stampers Select, Bitty Boxes
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Pear Tart
  • Tools:  PTI Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die; Scor-Pal
  • Other:  Brads
