June Birthdays Are The Best

Sneaking this "June" card in on the last day of the month....doesn't June seem like it went by fast??

You can probably tell I like this color combination - grey and blue - it just screams "masculine" to me!  I used my "Traffic" embossing folder for this...not sure why it's called Traffic.  lol  I applied Tim Holtz Weathered Wood and Faded Jeans distress paints to the folder and spritzed it with water.  I placed a piece of watercolor paper on top and pressed the paint into the paper.  This is what it looked like when I lifted it!

Using watercolor paper again, I cut the stitched circle and stamped it with dark blue ink.  I placed the circle on foam tape for dimension and adhered the panel to an Enchanted Evening cardstock card base.  I have a lot of grey twine and added the color Stone to the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Classics: June, Birthday Classics: April
  • Paper:  PTI Enchanted Evening; Watercolor 140#
  • Ink:  PTI Enchanted Evening
  • Tools:  Lil Inker Designs Stitched Circles; Cuttlebug Traffic Embossing Folder

Make It Monday #169 - Vellum Overlays

It's been a while since I participated in Papertrey's Make It Monday (click here)...and this one looked easy to do.  And I have a lot of vellum that I don't seem to use very much.  Why....since it looks so nice on cards!

I started with a white cardstock card base and added a layer of Raspberry Fizz large polka dot pattern paper.  I wanted a bright and festive looking color to use!

I die-cut Tag Sale #9 in white cardstock and in vellum - this is a 2 piece die, the one tag is smaller than the other.  On the white, using Mini Blooms, I stamped a variety of flowers in Hibiscus Burst, Aqua Mist and Cantaloupe inks, adding small leaves in Pear Tart ink.  On the vellum, I stamped the happy birthday from Gracious Vases in black Staz On ink.  I layered the two tags, slightly tilted them and tied pink twine in a bow through the hole at the top.

I am so in love with Circle Scribbles that I wanted to use them on this card and die-cut them in Aqua Mist cardstock.  I adhered them on the card and placed the tag on top on foam tape for dimension.  My last step was rounding the bottom corners.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Mini Blooms, Gracious Vases
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Raspberry Fizz Polka Dot
  • Ink:  PTI Hibiscus Burst, Aqua Mist; Memento Cantaloupe, Pear Tart; Staz On Jet Black
  • Tools:  PTI Tag Sale #9 Dies, Circle Scribble Dies; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

On Your Special Day

After taking online watercolor classes, I wanted to try to make a card that looked like it was hand painted.  To achieve the look, you ink up your stamp and stamp it on paper - I used 90# watercolor paper.  After it's stamped you take a brush with water and run it over the stamped image to help spread the ink a bit.  Hard to explain - it's much easier to watch a video!

I started with the vase first, stamped it in a very light brown ink because I didn't really want the outline to show.  I kept adding watered down ink to it until I achieved the right shading.  I placed light grey ink underneath the vase to make it appear as if it's sitting on a table.

I stamped the flowers and leaves and applied water to them to get the watercolor effect I wanted.  I'm not too happy with the way the flowers look in the vase...the next time I do this I'll definitely add a little up and down height instead of making them look so perfect!

The sentiment is stamped on a strip of watercolor paper.  I tied seam binding around the spine to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores; Watercolor 90#
  • Ink:  Tim Holtz Distress Inks Antique Linen, Peacock Feathers, Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough, Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmalade, Pumice Stone; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Other:  Paint Brush; Water; Seam Binding
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Thinking Of You Today & Always

This is another stamp set I haven't used in quite a while - Iconic Images.  And I also pulled out Sew Simple Borders, which I don't think I used at all!

On white cardstock, I stamped the pitcher in Tangelo ink, the flowers in Morocco ink and the stems in Pear Tart ink.  To help fill in the card, I stamped stitched lines at the top and bottom.  The sentiment is stamped in black ink.

I layered the flower panel on a piece of Orange Zest cardstock and adhered it to a Spring Moss cardstock card base.  To finish the card, I added a little bit of glitter to the flowers and tied Cantaloupe twine around the bottom.  My final step was rounding the bottom right hand corner.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Iconic Images, Sew Simple Borders
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Moss, Orange Zest, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tangelo, Morocco, Pear Tart, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Twine; Glitter
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

This is another watercolor card using the acetate technique.  I used watercolor markers and scribbled the blue and brown inks onto a piece of acetate, generously spritzing it water.  I laid the white cardstock on top of the acetate and gently pressed the cardstock into the wet ink.  When I lifted it, I had this look that I was very happy with.  What I like about doing this is you never get the same exact look twice!

Once dry, I stamped the birds, ferns and sentiment in Dark Chocolate ink.  I rounded the corners and placed it on an Enchanted Evening cardstock card base.  Since it was a masculine looking card, I added the jute around the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Masculine Motifs; Stampin' Up Wetlands
  • Paper:  PTI Enchanted Evening, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Dark Chocolate
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Acetate; Watercolor Markers; Jute
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Birthday Wishes (CAS #18)

Washi tape is always good for a quick card!

I used washi tape (purchased from Target) and placed the strips of tape on white cardstock, cutting the bottoms at an angle.  I adhered the panel to a Hawaiian Shores cardstock card base.

Using Framed Out #8, I die-cut the frame in Hawaiian Shores and white cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment from 2012 Birthday Tags in black ink and placed the frame on foam tape.  Done!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  2012 Birthday Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Framed Out #8

Congrats On Your New Little Bundle

Finally, I needed to make a boy card!  And it gave me a chance to use this new, cute set from PTI called Rattled.  The stamp set is only $5....PTI has some of the nicest little sets for $5!

I die-cut three rattles in white cardstock, stamping one of them in Spring Rain, Lemon Tart and Enchanted Evening inks.  I centered the stamped rattle and placed it on foam tape.  The white rattles are flat on the card.

I stamped the sentiment in Enchanted Evening ink, rounded the corners and adhered the image to a Blueberry Sky cardstock card base.  To finish the card, I tied Shore twine around the bottom.  Simple, but cute!

And we all know that a girl is going to come along....so I made the same card in girlie colors.  The rattle is stamped in Sweet Blush, Lemon Tart and Berry Sorbet inks and placed on a Sweet Blush cardstock card base.

The sentiment is stamped in Berry Sorbet ink and the twine is Strawberry.

Happy Birthday

And once again I'm using one of my favorite color combos - Aqua Mist and Melon Berry.  Who'd think I'd like these two colors so much!

This is a new stamp set from PTI called Oopsie Daisy.  It's a lot of fun to use!  For this card I stamped the flowers on white cardstock in Aqua and Melon inks and the stems in Spring Moss ink.  For the flowers centers, I cut the circles (using my SU owl punch!) in coordinating cardstock to give the card a little texture.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink, rounded the corners and adhered the panel to an Aqua Mist cardstock card base.  For a little shimmer, I added glitter to the flowers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Oopsie Daisy, Keep It Simple: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, Melon Berry, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Aqua Mist, Melon Berry, Spring Moss; Memento Tuxedo Black

Happy Birthday

This is the second card I made from the paint/embossing folder effect (posted 6/15/14).  Originally I was going to make my father's day card 5x7 but decided to make it square, and cut 2 inches off the bottom.  I didn't want it to go to waste and used it on this card.

I layered the watercolor image on a strip of Enchanted Evening cardstock and adhered it to a Rustic White cardstock card base.  I stamped the sentiment in coordinating ink, added the stitching underneath stamped in gray ink, and rounded the right hand bottom corner.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Think Big Favorites #12, Sew Simple Borders
  • Paper:  PTI Rustic White, Enchanted Evening; Watercolor 140#
  • Ink:  PTI Enchanted Evening; Versafine Smokey Gray; Tim Holtz Faded Jeans, Weathered Wood Distress Paint

Summer Birthdays Are The Most Fun!

It's the first day of summer and I'd like to say "happy summer", but this isn't really my favorite season of year.  I don't mind it as long as it doesn't get too hot, but it seems like they get hotter and hotter each year.

This is another die I bought a while ago and haven't used until now...these cute little flip flops!  I don't have the matching stamp set, so just cut the flip flops in pattern paper and in coaster for support.  I cut the flowers in Plum Pudding cardstock and the straps in True Black.

I placed them on a stitched circle, adding a gem to the flower centers.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink and scored a line above and below it since it looked like there was too much space at the bottom of the card.  I rounded the bottom corners to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Classics: June
  • Paper:  PTI Plum Pudding, Dotty Biscotti, White Stampers Select, True Black
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Flipping Out Dies; Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Mats: Circles Die; Corner Rounder; Scor-Pal
  • Other:  Gem; PTI Coaster; Foam Tape

Happy Birthday

Can you take another card with the Be Happy stamp set?  It is one of my favorites!

On white cardstock, I stamped the square in the middle with beige ink.  I stamped the butterfly in turquoise ink, adding the antenna in black.  I die-cut the butterfly center, stamped it with Mango Madness ink and placed it on foam tape.

The sentiments are stamped in black ink.  There was a lot of space left on the card so I added the strip at the top and bottom in Rosebud ink.  To help bring out the butterfly center, I added the two flowers with a gem center.

I rounded the bottom corners and adhered it to a Kraft cardstock card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Be Happy, Keep It Simple: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Rosebud, Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Mango Madness, Turquoise Gem; Brilliance Pearlescent Beige
  • Tools:  PTI Be Happy Dies; Corner Rounder

Thank You

You know that acetate clear stamps come on?  Don't throw it away...it's perfect to use for this watercolor technique!

For these cards, I used watercolor markers I got from QVC many, many years ago.  I scribbled 3 different colors of ink onto the acetate and spritzed it with water.  I laid the cardstock on top of it and rubbed the paper on the acetate.  This is the result --- pretty darn easy and impressive looking!

I stamped the sentiment in black ink and adhered it to a Spring Moss and Harvest Gold cardstock card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Think Big Favorites #5
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Moss, Harvest Gold, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Watercolor Markers; Acetate

Graduation Day

It's that time of year again...graduation time!  My friend asked me to make a card and sent me the college crest to use, which I printed on the computer.  I wasn't sure if these were the school colors or not, but used the colors in it for the card.

I took a piece of Enchanted Evening cardstock and ran it through the Cuttlebug with my stripes embossing folder.  I attached it to a white cardstock card base.  I cut the crest using an oval nestability, layered it on a Spring Moss cardstock oval and adhered it with foam tape.

I die-cut the letters in Pure Poppy cardstock and placed them on a strip of white cardstock.  To make them fit, I slightly overlapped the two and zero.  I placed the zero and four on foam tape for added dimension.

The stars border is also cut in Spring Moss cardstock.  I added one star on foam tape in the center of the zero.  To finish the card, I placed the cap on the two and zero - I think the cap just completes the card!

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Enchanted Evening, Pure Poppy, Spring Moss, White Stampers Select
  • Tools:  PTI By The Numbers Dies, Superstar Border; Lil' Inker Designs Starry Border; Darice Stripes Embossing Folder; Standard Oval Nestabilities
  • Other:  Jolee Sticker; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  5.0" x 7.0"

Happy Birthday

I have to admit, masculine cards seem to come to me rather easily now...so I guess they're not so hard to make.  Maybe I just have the right stamps?

I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock and stamped the feather in dark brown ink.  Next, I stamped the center part (what is that called?) in VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with gold embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool.

I affixed the Kraft paper to a Dark Chocolate card base, leaving space on either side of the image.  I die-cut the banner in Rustic Cream cardstock, stamped the sentiment and embossed it in gold.  The banner is on foam tape.  To finish my "guy" card, I put the usual jute around the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Feather Finery, Keep It Simple: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Dark Chocolate, Kraft, Rustic Cream
  • Ink:  PTI Dark Chocolate; VersaMark
  • Tools:  PTI Sketched Shapes Die
  • Other:  Zing Embossing Powder; Jute; Foam Tape; Heat Tool

Wishing You Brighter Days

I wonder if I'll ever catch up using all the things I order?  Ha-ha

This stamp set is just a bunch of stripes but adds a nice background.  I'm really hooked on the Aqua Mist and Melon Berry color combination and can't seem to stop using it.  I inked up the stripes in both of these colors and applied it to the left side of the card.

I die-cut my new favorite Memory Box butterfly in the coordinating cardstock and placed them on the card.  I stamped the sentiment in smokey gray ink and rounded the bottom right hand corner.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Background Basics: Random Stripes, Healing Touch Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Aqua Mist, Melon Berry; Versafine Smokey Gray
  • Tools:  Memory Box Pippi Butterfly Die; Corner Rounder

Happy Father's Day

This is the second attempt for my Father's Day card.  The first one I wasn't crazy about, I kept looking at it and just wasn't happy with the way it looked.  Then I saw a this card on Pinterest which inspired me to make this one.

I applied distress paints - Faded Jeans and Weathered Wood - to an embossing folder and spritzed it with water.  I took a piece of watercolor paper, laid it on top and gently pressed it into the paint.  When I lifted it, I had this wonderful effect!  I really like this blue and grey together.

After it was dry, I adhered it to an Enchanted Evening cardstock card base, cut to a 5" x 5" square.  I stamped the sentiment in grey ink on a banner die-cut in watercolor paper, and scored it to make it dimensional.  I die-cut the letters in Enchanted Evening and Soft Stone cardstock and layered them to give a shadowed look.  They're on foam tape for additional dimension.

To complete the card, I tied Stone twine around the spine.  I am soooo much happier with this card!  And I had enough paint left over on the embossing folder that I was able to make 3 additional cards in different styles....I'll be posting them later.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Bountiful Banners
  • Paper:  PTI Enchanted Evening, Soft Stone; Watercolor 140#
  • Ink:  Tim Holtz Faded Jeans, Weathered Wood Distress Paint; Versafine Smokey Gray
  • Tools:  PTI Double Ended Banners Die, Block Alpha Upper Dies; Darice Plaid Embossing Folder
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Twine

Happy Birthday

I made this card a few months ago.  It's actually a lot prettier in person than the picture.

This card uses the emboss resist technique.  On white cardstock, I stamped the flowers and leaves in VersaMark ink and added white Zing embossing powder, heating it with my heat tool.  Using a dauber, I rubbed purple and green inks over the embossed flowers and leaves.  I rubbed off the excess ink with a paper towel.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink and placed it on a Spring Moss card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI In Bloom, Botanical Silhouettes
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Moss, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters; Brilliance Pearlescent Purple; Memento Tuxedo Black; VersaMark
  • Other:  Zing Embossing Powder; Dauber; Heat Tool

Dance & Twirl Birthday Girl

It's Friday the 13th, are you superstitious?  I love this little ballerina and hope PTI comes out with a whole collection of "people" stamps.

For this card, I die-cut the ballerina and colored her with Copic markers. Next, I took a white cardstock card base and added the scalloped Sweet Blush pattern paper to the top.  I placed the ballerina on foam tape to the right of the card.

I stamped the stars and edged around the card with Sweet Blush ink.  To give the illusion of the floor, I used the wavy stamp from Circle Scribbles, placed under her feet.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink, added glitter to her dress and a clear gem to the ribbon in her hair.  Is she the cutest thing or what?

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Ballerina Beauty, Circle Scribbles
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Sweet Blush Stripes
  • Ink:  PTI Sweet Blush; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Copics:  E33, E35, E50, R20, R22

Thank You

Are you sick of watercolor yet? haha  I'm not.....still have so many ideas and techniques I want to try!

I used Stampin' Up reinkers for this effect.  I placed the reinker on my craft sheet and mixed each one with a little water and "painted" them onto a clear stamp block.  Once I had enough of the three inks on the block, I flipped the block over and pressed it into a piece of watercolor paper, holding it down for a few seconds so the ink would absorb into the paper.  I was impressed when I lifted the block off to see such vibrant colors!

When the image was dry, I stamped the feather in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with white Zing embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink.

I layered the watercolor image on True Black cardstock and placed it on a Pure Poppy card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Feather Finery, Keep It Simple: Thank You
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, True Black; Watercolor 90#
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; VersaMark; Stampin' Up Red Rose, Summer Sun, Pretty In Pink

Birthday Wishes

This card is the same technique posted 4/26/14 using PTI's Make It Monday #161 - "Watercolor Splats".  I liked the technique so much I wanted to make another card.

I used three different colors of Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass to achieve this look.  I used a blending tool to apply the ink, hoping to get a nice ombre look - I think I succeeded!.  I sprinkled droplets of water on the image to get the "splats".

I die-cut "birthday" from the center of the panel.  On a piece of black cardstock, I die-cut "birthday" again and inlaid it in the center of the card.  I stamped wishes underneath in black ink and adhered the panel to a white cardstock card base.  I really like how the black stands out with the blue background!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Wonderful Words: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, True Black
  • Ink:  Tim Holtz Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass Distress Ink; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Wonderful Words: Birthday Die
  • Other:  Water
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Anniversary

I saw a card similar to this on Laurie Willison's (PTI Design Team) blog and really liked the design.  So this is my version.

First, I embossed a piece of Soft Stone cardstock with my Birds & Swirls embossing folder - I need to use this folder more often because it's so pretty!  Next, I took a piece of white cardstock, cut out the center using a rectangle die and layered it on top of the grey cardstock.  The sentiment is stamped on the bottom in light grey ink.

I had a couple of leftover heart dies, stamped them in red ink and placed them on foam tape.  I tied white and silver edged ribbon around the card as the final touch.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Inside & Out: Love
  • Paper:  PTI Soft Stone, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Pure Poppy; Amuse Seattle
  • Tools:  PTI Cover Plate: Hearts Die; Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Mats: Rectangles; Cuttlebug Birds & Swirls Embossing Folder

Happy Birthday To You

This card is similar to one I posted a few weeks ago, just a different take on the design.

I started with an Aqua Mist cardstock card base and added a layer of white cardstock, embossed with my Cane Back embossing folder.

Using square nestabilities, I die-cut a scalloped one in Hawaiian Shores cardstock and a standard one in white cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with Zing "Powder" embossing powder and heated it with a heat tool.

The squares are adhered to the card base on foam tape.  I tied Caribbean twine around the bottom to complete the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Amuse Eat Cake
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  VersaMark
  • Tools:  Standard & Scalloped Square Nestabilities Dies; Cuttlebug Cane Back Embossing Folder

Thanks

When I took the picture for this card, the lighting wasn't very good, but I needed to get the card in the mail.

The images in this stamp set are meant to be used as a two-step process.  On a piece of white cardstock, I stamped the leaves in dark green and the leave centers in a lighter green.  The flowers are stamped in a dark orange, and the inner part in a lighter orange.  I added black centers and stamped the berry images in a coordinating light green.

The sentiment is stamped in black ink.  To give the card texture, I impressed it with my Linen & Canvas Impression Plate.  The image is adhered onto an Orange Zest card base.  To finish off the card, I added glitter to the flowers for a little sparkle.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Embroidered Blooms, Harvest Berries
  • Paper:  PTI Orange Zest, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Bamboo Leaves, Pear Tart, Tangelo, Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Mango Madness

With Sympathy

It's been a while since I posted a sympathy card....

This card uses another watercolor technique - using acrylic paint and water.  I placed some of the paint on my craft sheet and mixed it with a little bit of water.  I loaded my brush with the paint and just dabbed it on a plain piece of white cardstock.  The paint I used is metallic and looks so pretty in person!

I die-cut the fern and adhered it to the dried paint image.  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark, sprinkled it with white Zing embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool.  I rounded the bottom corners, layered it on an Enchanted Evening cardstock card base and tied the white twine around it.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Communique Curves Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Enchanted Evening, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  VersaMark
  • Tools:  Memory Box Large Fern Die; Corner Rounder

Happy New Baby

And the girl cards continue.....where are all the boy babies this year??

Using my Horizontal Stripes Cover Plate, I cut out a piece of Sweet Blush cardstock. I filled the stripes with white, Spring Moss and Berry Sorbet cardstock.  I cut a standard and scalloped circle and stamped the sentiment.

I die-cut the giraffe and elephant twice, once in polka dot pattern paper and once in coaster for support.  They're adhered to the card on foam tape.

To finish the card, I tied pink crinkle ribbon around the bottom and placed the sentiment on top of it.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Bitty Baby Blessings
  • Paper:  PTI Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, White Stampers Select, Spring Moss, Polka Dot Parade
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Key To My Heart

This was an easy anniversary card to make because I had the perfect pattern paper to begin with.

I placed the "key" pattern paper onto a white cardstock card base.  I die-cut the hearts, one in black scallop and one in red and adhered them to the card.  The pattern paper pack had sentiments included with it and I cut this one out and placed it across the card on foam tape.

Luckily, I remembered I had "key" dies from PTI (that haven't been used yet) and die-cut one in red cardstock.  The key die-cut made a nice embellishment to the card.  I tied a little Maraschino twine around it, rounded the bottom corners and the card was done.

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, True Black, White Stampers Select; Authentique Lovely
  • Tools:  PTI Limitless Layers: Heart Dies, Lock & Key Die; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Celebrate Today

Yes, more watercolor today!

I was playing around with my new pink gelatos when I made this card.  I rubbed the gelatos onto my kraft mat, added a bit of water to them and brushed them onto watercolor paper.  I didn't have a design in mind, I just dabbed the color wherever I wanted it.  I like how it turned out!

After it dried, I cut a piece of Hibiscus Burst using my LID diagonal die.  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and sprinkled it with gold Zing embossing powder.  I used my heat tool to emboss it and adhered it to the card.

To add an embellishment, I die-cut a Mini Button Stack in white cardstock with a coordinating pink layer.  I added two gold star brads to hold it together and placed it on foam tape.

Happy Birthday

Happy June!  Can you believe it's June already?  Getting closer and closer to the HOT weather.  Ugh.

This is another stamp set I kept seeing on Pinterest, and of course, had to have it!  It's by Stampin' Up and called "Happy Watercolor".  Love all things watercolor!  haha

I stamped the flowers in black ink onto white cardstock and colored them with Copics.  After they were colored, I stamped the "watercolor" image over the flowers in green and orange inks.  The sentiment is stamped in black.

I layered the image on black cardstock and adhered it to a Summer Sunrise cardstock card base.
