Happy Halloween

This is another card I cased from one of the PTI Design Team, Heather Nichols.

I used Orange Zest for the card base and added a layer of green starred pattern paper.  I borrowed the stamp set from a friend (thanks Linda!), stamped the images on white cardstock and colored them with Copics.  I put glitter on the streamers coming out of the jar for a little sparkle.

Using Scallop Edgeabilities, I cut the scalloped shape from black polka dot paper and placed it on the right side.  I added an orange button threaded with Halloween twine and a die-cut ticket stamped with the sentiment and two green brads.  The ticket is on foam tape.

I needed to add Sarah's name and cut it in Winter Wisteria cardstock with my Bounce Sizzlet alphabet.  Yes, this is the 3rd alphabet set I wanted to sell....again, it's a good thing I didn't because I can now see I'll get plenty of use out of it!

Halloween Doo-dad

Well, thanks again to Pinterest I was able to create these really fun looking hands!

I bought latex free gloves at AC Moore and placed Smarties in the fingers and assorted candy at the top of the glove.

For the tag, I cut scalloped circles in black and layered them with a white circle, stamping "trick or treat" on it.  The tag is tied on with Halloween twine and orange fun fur.  Of course I had to add the spider ring to the hand too!  These were a big hit with everyone who received them!

Project Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Tag-its #7
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tangelo
  • Tools:  1-1/4" Scalloped Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch

Happy Birthday To You (Scraps)

I was cutting paper I'm using for my Christmas cards and had a bunch of 1/2 inch blue strips left over.  I didn't want to throw them out so I've been creating cards with them.

For this card I started with a white card base and added the Spring Rain strips diagonally across the card, spacing them evenly.

I die-cut "birthday" in a scrap of dark blue polka dot pattern paper and also in coaster for a bit of support and placed it on foam tape for a little dimension.  I stamped the "happy" and "to you" on either side of birthday and added Enchanted Evening twine around the spine.  Love how this turned out!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Wonderful Words: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Rain, White Stampers Select, Bitty Dots
  • Ink:  Memento Nautical Blue
  • Tools:  PTI Wonderful Words: Birthday Die

Boo!

After seeing Nichole make this card, I knew I had to get this set and also mimic the card she made with it!

I used True Black cardstock for the card base and added a layer of orange cardstock.  The ghosts are stamped on white cardstock in black ink, with their bow ties stamped in light green ink.  I used a light grey Copic marker to outline the ghosts for a shadow effect.

I wanted to put the sentiment in a "conversation bubble".  I die-cut the bubble in Soft Stone cardstock, stamped it with orange ink and added "boo" in black ink.  The bubble and the ghost who's "talking" are both on foam tape.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Polka Dot Parade #7, Bubble Talk
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, White Stampers Select, Soft Stone; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento True Black, Tangelo, Pear Tart
  • Copics:  C1

Make A Wish

I was staring at this Wishes Come True stamp set on my table and thought I should use it again before putting it away.

I used white cardstock for the card base.  I cut a piece of Hawaiian Shores cardstock and ran it through the Cuttlebug with my Swiss Dots embossing folder, adhering it to the card base.

I die-cut another piece of white using a stitched rectangle die.  I stamped the candles and sentiment, tied Caribbean twine around it and placed it on the blue cardstock with foam tape.  Notice both layers are on an angle instead of straight?  It gives an entirely different look to the card!

To add some sparkle, I placed glitter on the candle flames and the stripes on the two outer candles.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Wishes Come True
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Hawaiian Shores
  • Ink:  Memento Sweet Plum, Rose Bud, Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Turquoise Gem
  • Tools:  Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Rectangle Mats; Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
  • Other:  Twine; Foam Tape; Glitter

Have A Spooktacular Halloween

This idea came from Pinterest.  Seriously, who needs to think anymore?  haha

I used Canyon Clay cardstock for my card base and added a layer of True Black cardstock.  I ripped strips of white paper to create the mummy wrappings....and edged them with Tea Dye ink.  I also swabbed the ink across the white strips.  When I assembled the strips, I left room to add googly eyes to make it appear as if ghosts are looking through the mummy.

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom.  I needed to add the little boy's name, "Will" and did that by cutting the letters using my Graffiti Sizzlet alphabet.  Thank goodness I didn't sell this set either!

After I put the card together, I tied Fun Fur around the top - I think it gives it a creepy addition!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Happy Haunting
  • Paper:  PTI Canyon Clay, True Black, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; Tim Holtz Tea Dye
  • Tools:  Sizzlet Graffiti Alphabet Die
  • Other:  Googly Eyes; Martha Stewart Onyx Glitter Eyelash

Thank You For Being So Thoughtful (CAS #39)

Do you get bored seeing green leaves all the time?  I know I do and wanted to do something different for this card and decided to use grey for the leaves.

On white cardstock, I die-cut the bottom using Card Edgers #1.  I stamped the flowers in light and dark purples, adding a black center.  The leaves are stamped in light grey with black for the vein.

I stamped the little clusters of flowers in light purple and added Frosted Lace Stickles to the centers.  The sentiment was stamped and the card was done!  Easy and looks like more work than it really was.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals; PTI Signature Greetings
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Lulu Lavender, Sweet Plum, Tuxedo Black; PTI Soft Stone
  • Tools:  PTI Card Edgers #1 Die

Wishing You Brighter Days

I saw this card on Amber's blog, Damask Love and thought it was so pretty and wanted to see if I could make one similar to it.

I used Berry Sorbet cardstock as the card base.  I die-cut a Quatrefoil Cover Plate in white and adhered it to the card base.  Next, I took a circle nestability, die-cutting a circle through the middle of both layers.  For the border around the sentiment, I placed two circle nestabilities that were slightly larger than each other and ran it through the Cuttlebug.  The result was a 1/4" outline of a circle which I placed around the cut circle in the middle of the card.  Does that make sense?  It's hard to explain in writing.

By cutting the two circles together, it also left a die-cut circle.  I used that as the inside sentiment for the card, stamping it with the sentiment and placing it directly inside the circle cut in the card base.  I placed it on foam tape so it pops up a bit.

I stamped the flowers and leaves on white cardstock, fussy cut them and adhered them to the card.  I tied white twine around the bottom of the card in a bow.

I took the picture with the card slightly open, hopefully so you can see how the sentiment circle is placed on the inside of the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Healing Touch Sentiments; WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals
  • Paper:  PTI Berry Sorbet, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Cantaloupe, Tangelo, Bamboo Leaves
  • Tools:  PTI Quatrefoil Cover Plate Die; Standard Circle Nestabilities
  • Other:  Twine; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Trick Or Treat Witch

I can't believe Halloween is next week...the month of October is going by so quickly!

For this card I wanted to use this witch, I got it last year and didn't have a chance to use it.  I used True Black cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Halloween pattern paper.  I die-cut the strip of stars in a lighter orange paper using my Lil' Inkers star die and adhered it to the card.

I die-cut the witch and the "trick or treat" in black and placed them on the card; the witch is on foam tape for a little dimension.  The card needed some bling and I thought these sequins made a nice addition.

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI True Black; DCWV
  • Tools:  PTI Spooky Sweets Die, Tricky Trio Die; Lil' Inker Designs Star Border
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Sequins
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Anniversary

It's been a while since I made an anniversary card, and checking my stash, I'm running low on them.

For this card I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base, rounding the right hand corners.  On white cardstock, I stamped the leaves from Embroidered Blooms in Tea Leaves green and the flowers in Aquatic Splash ink. I didn't like the flower center in that set and used the flower center from Natural Beauties, stamped in Cantaloupe ink.

I thought black would be too harsh for the sentiment and used a medium grey ink - I think it helps soften the card.  I added a gem to each of the flower centers and tied white ribbon around the spine for the finishing touches.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Embroidered Blooms, Natural Beauties, Think Big Favorites #24
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  VersaMagic Tea Leaves, Aquatic Splash; Memento Cantaloupe; Amuse Seattle
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Ribbon; Gems
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Boo To You

I needed to make a few Halloween cards quickly for someone and my creativity wasn't flowing very well, so I turned to the PTI Design Team for help.  This card was inspired by one made by Betsy Veldman.

I used Limeade Ice cardstock for the card base (I'm starting to really like this color!) and added a layer of Orange Zest cardstock, impressed with my star impression plate.

I die-cut the frame in black and white polka dots, cutting a piece of white cardstock to fit the inside of the frame.  I stamped the ghosts and sentiment, adding die-cut bows for the boy ghosts and hair bows for the girl ghosts, all on foam tape.  I adhered the frame, backed with a die-cut coaster for added support, also on foam tape for dimension.

"Olivia" was cut in Limeade Ice using a Sizzlet alphabet.  The funny thing is I was going to sell my Sizzlet alphabets, but used them all in the last week.  Now I'm glad I still have them!  I added a die-cut girl ghost on the side of the frame on foam tape.

To finish the card, I added a gem to the bow centers and Halloween twine, threaded with a bright orange button around the bottom.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Polka Dot Parade #7
  • Paper:  PTI Limeade Ice, Orange Zest, White Stampers Select, Black & White Basics
  • Ink:  Memento Pear Tart, Tangelo, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Fabulous Frames Die, Polka Dot Parade #7 Die, Star Spangled Impression Plate; Bounce Sizzlet Alphabet Die
  • Other:  Twine; Foam Tape; Gems, PTI Coaster; Button
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Birthday Wishes

I honestly don't remember where I saw the technique of using Liquid Pearls for a card background....probably on Pinterest or YouTube.

I used True Black for the card base, rounding the right hand corners.  My first step creating the background was adding blue Liquid Pearls - I did this by squeezing out some of the pearls on the side, dipping a piece of scrunched up plastic wrap into it and randomly dabbed it all over the card.  I put it aside until it was completely dry.

Next, I took 3 colors of distress ink, Tumbled Glass, Shabby Shutters and Pumice and applied them over the dried Liquid Pearls using my blending tool.  I rubbed enough on the card until the white was completely covered and the colors looked right to me.

I die-cut the ovals and stamped the sentiment.  I added Charcoal twine on the spine and a metal dot under the sentiment.  This card is actually prettier in person because the Liquids Pearls give it a shiny look.  It's sort of a "shiny grungy" look, if that makes sense.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Style
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass, Pumice; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Limited Layers Ovals Dies; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Baby Blue Liquid Pearls; Twine; Foam Tape; Metal Dot; Plastic Wrap

Birthday Greetings (CAS #38)

My Fabulous Frames dies were a great purchase because I seem to use them more and more all the time!

I stamped the goose in brown ink on Vintage Cream cardstock, adding a little bit of background distressing with Antique Linen ink.  I die-cut the frame in Kraft cardstock, stamped the sentiment and placed the frame around the goose.

I haven't used Pinefeather cardstock in a long time (probably since Christmas?) and used my Woodgrain Impression Plate on it.  I placed it on a Kraft card base and tied a piece of jute around it, threaded with a wood button.

Does this card scream masculine or what?

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Stampin' Up Wetlands
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Pinefeather, Vintage Cream
  • Ink:  Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate; Tim Holtz Antique Linen
  • Tools:  PTI Fabulous Frames Die, Woodgrain Impression Plate Die

Happy Autumn Birthday

The weather has been much more Fall-like recently and makes me want to use more leaves!

I used Ripe Avocado cardstock for the card base.  On white cardstock, I randomly stamped 3 different leaf styles in 3 different colors of green ink.

Using nestabilities, I die-cut 2 rectangles in Ripe Avocado and white, stamping the sentiment in green.  I layered the two rectangles and placed them on foam tape.

After looking at the card it need something.....and I added the jute tied in a simple knot.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Leaf Prints, Autumn Hills
  • Paper:  PTI Ripe Avocado, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Pear Tart, Pistachio; VersaMagic Tea Leaves
  • Tools:  Standard Rectangle Nestabilities

Thank You So Very Much

I really have been making a lot of thank you cards....

I used Hawaiian Shores cardstock for the card base.  On white cardstock I stamped 3 light green stripes and two straws.  I added coordinating turquoise chevron paper at the bottom and yellow polka dot paper at the top, cut with Card Edgers #3.

I stamped the bottle outline in black ink and filled it "lemonade" by using yellow ink.  I stamped another straw in the bottle and fussy cut the entire bottle, placing it on foam tape.  I stamped the leaves and orange slices, cut them out and placed them on the card; the leaves in upper right are also on foam tape.  The orange slices are colored with a Copic marker.

I die-cut the banner and stamped the sentiment.  My final step was tying Buttercream twine around the top of the card and adding a little glitter to the inside of the bottle.  I really like this Milk & Cookies stamp set!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  WPlus9 Milk & Cookies; PTI Framed Out #1, Watercolor Wonder
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, White Stampers Select, Bitty Dots; Amuse Chevron

Happy Birthday

And here's another example of how you can use a Cover Plate as an impression plate!

I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base and added a layer of white, impressed with my Harlequin Cover Plate.  It gives it the look of a quilted background.

I die-cut the leaves in Spring Moss and the flowers in Aqua Mist, stamping the flowers with coordinating ink.  I added a large silver brad for the flower center and adhered it to the card with foam tape.

I die-cut the banner and stamped it in two different inks.  I tied white ribbon around the spine and put a little glitter on the leaves.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Happiness in Bloom
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Aquatic Splash, Turquoise Gem

Welcome Baby

Pink and grey are not normal colors for me to use for a baby card, but I like the colors together and decided to try it out.

I used Soft Stone cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Sweet Blush, impressed with my Quatrefoil Cover Plate die.  I think it adds a really nice effect to the card.

I die-cut Mat Stack 4 in white and stamped the sentiment on it in light grey ink.  I die-cut the baby carriage, stamped it with the coordinating polka dot stamp and adhered it to the card.  I added the baby's head peaking out of the carriage...isn't that a cute touch?  The image is placed on foam tape for dimension.

I found grey ribbon and grey pearls and added them as the embellishments to the card.  I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Polka Dot Parade #4, Wreath For All Seasons
  • Paper:  PTI Soft Stone, Sweet Blush, White Stampers Select

Trick or Treat

Too early for Halloween?  Not really....it's less than 3 weeks away now!  This card was inspired by one Nichole did on her blog during the August release and convinced me I needed the Tricky Trio dies!

So naturally I wanted to make a quick card using these new dies.  I used True Black cardstock for the card base and added a layer of orange paper and a layer of bright green paper.  I used an inverted circle rounder on the green.  I found purple polka dot paper in my stash and added a strip of it down the middle.

I die-cut the "trick or treat" and the spider in black.  I used Halloween twine for the spider web and added an orange gem to the spider body.  The spider is on a little piece of foam tape for dimension.

This card is nice and bright with all those true Halloween colors!

Card Details:
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, Orange Zest; DCWV; Colorbok
  • Tools:  PTI Tricky Trio Die, Spooky Sweets Die; Inverted Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Twine; Gem; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday To You

I really like using the Fabulous Frames die to be the center point of a card, especially if it's framing a sentiment.

I used Spring Moss cardstock for the card base, impressing it with stars.  I die-cut the frame with orange gingham paper and placed it on top of the sentiment.  The frame is on foam tape for dimension.

I die-cut and stamped the balloons in orange and green inks and adhered Honeydew and Marigold twine for the balloon strings.  I placed them on foam tape and added a sequin for a bit of bling.

"Celebrate Today" is stamped on a die-cut made from Summer Sunrise cardstock.  I added a couple more sequins to balance out the sentiment.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Amuse Eat Cake; PTI Bountiful Banners
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Moss, White Stampers Select, Summer Sunrise; Amuse Gingham
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Pear Tart, Cantaloupe

Happy 60th Birthday

This is one of those 10 hour (well, maybe not 10) cards....I kept changing the colors and design of the card.....I never thought I would get it done!  I'm glad I was happy with the way it finally turned out!

I used Hawaiian Shores cardstock for the card base.  On white cardstock, I placed my Starry Border die diagonally across the left top and ran it through the Cuttlebug, repeating the same process for the right bottom.  I was originally going to let the blue show through the punched out stars, but decided to place colors (Hawaiian Shores, Hibiscus Burst, Lemon Tart, Limeade Ice) in the star negatives.

I cut a piece of Lemon Tart striped pattern paper and adhered it diagonally across the card.  I placed 1/4" scor-tape on either side of it and sprinkled coarse glitter on top.  I think the glitter really makes the card look pretty and festive!

I die-cut the "60" in Hawaiian Shores and Hibiscus Burst using regular number dies layered on my new number mats dies.  I also used my new Suffix Style dies for the "th", cut in Limeade Ice (yes, I'm using this color again!), layered on top of white.

The "birthday" is cut with Hawaiian Shores Bitty Dots using one of the Birthday Trio dies, with the "i" dotted with a star.  I die-cut the banner, stamped it with "happy" and placed it on foam tape, adding a few more stars to the end of the banner.  Caribbean and Pink Sorbet twines are tied around the spine as the final step.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, Limeade Ice, Hibiscus Burst, Lemon Tart, Hawaiian Shores Bitty Dots, Lemon Tart Stripes, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Rose Bud
  • Tools:  PTI Sketched Shapes Die, Suffix Style, Birthday Trio Die, By The Numbers Dies, By The Numbers Mats Dies; Lil' Inker Starry Border Die
  • Other:  Twine; Scor-Tape; Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  5.0" x 7.0"

Smile

I am liking this Reasons To Smile stamp set more and more - I'm so glad I got it!

I used Scarlet Jewel for the card base and added a layer of beige check paper.  This paper is so old I don't even know who makes it - it's one of the first papers I bought when I started scrapbooking!

On Vintage Cream cardstock, I stamped the flowers in rhubarb stalk and the leaves in pearlescent beige - it's nice to use a color other than green for the leaves.  I used Labels One nestabilities to die-cut the flowers and the layer behind it.  They are adhered to the card with foam tape for dimension.

I die-cut the banner and stamped Smile on it, adding 3 tiny pearls to the side.  I stamped another sentiment under the banner - it's hard to read and says "your birthday is destined to be simply amazing!"  All of these colors worked so well together!  It's nice to use darker, richer colors for a change.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Reasons To Smile
  • Paper:  PTI Scarlet Jewel, Vintage Cream; Unknown
  • Ink:  Memento Rhubarb Stalk; Brilliance Pearlescent Beige
  • Tools:  PTI Sketched Shapes Die; Labels One Nestabilities

Just A Note To Thank You

I needed to send a thank you card and thought since it's Fall, why not incorporate leaves into it.  I saw this idea on Heather Nichols blog - 1) where she made her leaves look like they are watercolor and 2) she inset the "thank you".  How clever!  It looked simple enough so I gave it a try and love how this turned out!!

I used Kraft cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Canyon Clay cardstock.  First, I cut out the "thank you" on Rustic Cream cardstock and put it to the side.  Second, I stamped the leaves - to create the watercolor effect I inked up the stamp, spritzed it with a little water and stamped it on the card.  It really gives the card a pretty look!  I stamped all the leaves in a variety of colors and added the veins in brown ink.

Third, I placed the die-cut "thank you" back in the card - notice how it really stands out now!  I stamped "just a note" above it.  I like sparkle, so added some coarse glitter to the leaves.  Thanks Heather for the great idea!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Leaf Prints, Wonderful Words:  Thank You
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Rustic Cream, Canyon Clay
  • Ink:  Memento Toffee Crunch, Tangelo, Cantaloupe, Pistachio, Tuxedo Black; PTI Pure Poppy, Lemon Tart
  • Tools:  PTI Wonderful Words: Thank You Die
  • Other:  Glitter
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Enjoy Your Day!

This is a different color for me to use as a card base - Limeade Ice.  When I bought it, I wasn't sure I would like the color, but I decided to give it a try and I'm warming up to it (a little).

I stamped flowers from Mini Blooms on white, using light and dark orange inks, adding the green leaves.  The smaller flowers are stamped in Pink Grapefruit ink. I stamped the sentiment in black and added the swirly thing underneath.

I cut the white cardstock slightly smaller than the card base so you could see the green.  I added a little glitter to each of the larger flowers and a "pearl" made with yellow Pearl Pen to the smaller, darker orange flowers.  I tied Marigold twine around the spine to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Mini Blooms
  • Paper:  PTI Limeade Ice, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tangelo, Pear Tart, Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Mango Madness, Pink Grapefruit
  • Other:  Sunny Yellow Pearl Pen; Glitter, Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Sending Heartfelt Sympathy (CAS #37)

Nothing could be more simple than this card!  I found a pack of K&Company dimensional flowers when I was looking for something else and thought it was time to use them.

I used Plum Pudding cardstock for my card base, rounding the bottom corners.  I took a piece of white cardstock and impressed it with a canvas look.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink and adhered the flower.  And the card is done......

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Year of Flowers:  Carnations
  • Paper:  PTI Plum Pudding, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Linen & Canvas Impression Plate; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  K&Company Cottage Garden

Birthday Greetings

This is a newly released stamp set from Stampin' Up called Wetlands.  I saw cards made with this set all over Pinterest, and of course I had to get it!  It'll come in handy making masculine cards!

I used Kraft cardstock for my card base and added a layer of Dark Chocolate cardstock.  Next, I took a piece of white cardstock and placed masking tape along the edges, first tearing the tape to give it a jagged edge.  Using a blending tool with foam, I loaded it with Antique Linen ink and rubbed it on the white to create the "sandy beach".  I went over the light brown ink with Frayed Burlap, a slightly darker brown ink.  I stamped the ferns in the corners with Chocolate ink, stamping them once fully inked and once with the ink stamped off.

I created the sky the same way by inking up my blending tool and then rubbing the ink - by doing this I can make the sky lighter or darker as needed.  I stamped the ducklings in the middle of the card in Chocolate ink.  Aren't they adorable?  I die-cut the clouds and stamped the sentiment on the largest cloud, placing it on foam tape for dimension.

Now it was time to pull off the masking tape - and yes, it came out exactly as I wanted with a bright white edge to the card.  I tied jute around the spine to complete the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Stampin' Up Wetlands

Happy Birthday

This white marks on this pattern paper are actually little doilies....and I knew I had some pre-made little doilies and thought it would make a cute card if I used one.

I used white cardstock for the card base and added the layer of doily pattern paper.  The white doily is from Martha Stewart - it's an assorted pack of 6 different styles.  I die-cut circles in Lemon Tart and white.

The sentiment is stamped in grey ink; I placed the yellow circle on foam tape for dimension and tied Buttercream twine around the spine.  It needed something else and I remembered I had enamel dots and added 3 of them - I think it helps complete the card and they match the color of the pattern paper!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Sketched Shapes
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Lemon Tart; Melissa Frances
  • Ink:  Amuse Seattle
  • Tools:  Standard Circle Nestabilities
  • Other:  Martha Stewart Die Cut Lace Tag; Enamel Dots; Foam Tape; Twine

Welcome Little One

Yes, another boy card.  Where are all the baby girls this year??

I used Spring Rain cardstock for the card base and added a layer of blue check pattern paper.  To give the bottom a little shape, I used card edgers to create a scalloped look.

I die-cut the doily in white and adhered it to the card. The carriage was die-cut in Spring Rain; I stamped the sentiment on it and added two silver circles to the wheels.  The carriage is on foam tape for dimension.

My final step was tying white ribbon around the bottom of the card.

Make A Wish

I really need to start using some of my older stamp sets so I pulled out this one, "It's A Celebration".

I used Spring Moss cardstock for the card base.  I die-cut a piece of white cardstock with a stitched rectangle mat die and stamped the cake, candle and confetti onto it.  The confetti and candle has a little sparkle on it from a clear gel pen.

I put a bow on the cake -- this is my new mini stitched bow from Lil' Inker Designs. It's very easy to create a bow from paper using this - it cuts 3 pieces that you put together to get this cute little bow.  I added a gem in the bow center for another touch of bling.  The white cardstock is mounted on foam tape for dimension.

You Are In My Prayers

Sometimes it's nice to make a sympathy card not using traditional dark colors like black or navy blue.  And this card doesn't have to be a sympathy card, it could be for any occasion when you're letting someone know they're in your thoughts.

I used Summer Sunrise for the card base and rounded the right hand corners.  I stamped the leaves twice, once with the stamp fully inked and once with the ink stamped off.  I wanted to add some dimension to the card and die-cut and stamped the leaves on the right side and placed them on foam tape.  The flowers are stamped in two different colors of orange.

I stamped the sentiment and added a bit of glitter to the flowers to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Embroidered Blooms, Gracious Vases, Harvest Berries
  • Paper:  PTI Summer Sunrise, White Stampers Select

Happy Birthday

Can you believe it's October already?  Where did September go??

I used Ocean Tides cardstock for the card base and layered it with this pretty pattern paper made of soft grey, pink and green, rounding the bottom corners.

I made a Mat Stack 3 die-cut in Soft Stone cardstock, stamped it with pink ink and placed it on foam tape for dimension.  I created the rose in a multi-colored pink pattern paper using my Rose Creations dies, cutting and shaping the six layers of rose petals with a bone folder.  I have a silver brad in the middle holding the rose together.  I die-cut the leaves in Ocean Tides and scored the center to simulate the vein in the leaf.

I stamped the sentiment in light grey onto a banner cut with Soft Stone cardstock.  I love everything about this card - the pattern paper was my inspiration and luckily I had other papers to match it perfectly!
