Happy Birthday (CAS #7)

How about a quick card using circles?  I know a lot of people didn't like this set when it was introduced, but I'm having a lot of fun creating cards with it.

I used Ocean Tides cardstock for the card base.  Next, on white cardstock, I stamped the circles in three different ink colors - Kraft, Aqua Mist and Ocean Tides.

The banner is die-cut in Aqua Mist cardstock, stamped in Ocean Tides ink and adhered to the card with foam tape.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Circle Scribbles, Keep It Simple: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Ocean Tides, White Stampers Select, Aqua Mist
  • Ink:  PTI Kraft, Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides
  • Tools:  PTI Sketched Shapes Die
  • Other:  Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Sweet Baby

I'm going a little crazy with watercolor cards...there are so many ways to use this technique!

I used Tim Holtz distress ink to make the watercolor background - I placed some of the ink on a clear block and mixed it with water and swiped the ink onto watercolor paper using a brush.  I added a little more ink in certain areas to give it a darker look.
I die-cut "baby" in Sweet Blush cardstock (and coaster for support) and placed it on foam tape, stamping "sweet" above it.  I rounded the bottom corners and adhered it to a Sweet Blush cardstock card base.  To complete the card, I added a pink ribbon and two hearts that were stamped using the same watered down ink.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Wonderful Words: Baby, Inside & Out: Well Wishes
  • Paper:  PTI Sweet Blush; Watercolor
  • Ink:  Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Wonderful Words: Baby Die; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Ribbon; Foam Tape; PTI Coaster
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

Each month when I receive my PTI package something becomes my new favorite item.  For March, I'd have to say it's the Wet Paint stamp set.  I really like the bold font in this set and it looks great with watercolor techniques!

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and stamped Circle Scribbles in black ink.  To color in the circles, I used Tim Holtz Distress inks - I tapped some of the ink on a clear block, mixed it with a bit of water and applied it with a brush, going slightly outside of the lines.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink, placing "happy" on an angle.  I rounded the right hand bottom corner and used Hawaiian Shores cardstock for the card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Circle Scribbles, Wet Paint
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores; Watercolor
  • Ink:  Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress, Peacock Feathers Distress; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

March Birthday

This is the second in a series of monthly birthdays stamps from PTI.  Since March is almost over, I thought I'd better use the stamp set and get it posted!

I'm thinking Spring, so wanted to use some bright colors.  On white cardstock, I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner.  I like that the sentiment is large and takes up a good portion of the card.  I pulled out my Be Happy set (see, getting lots of use!) and stamped the flowers on the top of the card in pink and orange inks, adding the green "leaves" and the little swirls of blue.

I added the black border around the image, gems to the flower centers and adhered it to a Hibiscus Burst cardstock card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Classics: March, Be Happy, Embellished Elegance
  • Paper:  PTI Hibiscus Burst, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Hibiscus Burst; Memento Pear Tart, Tangelo; VersaMagic Turquoise Gem
  • Other:  Gems
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

With Sympathy

Sympathy cards are never fun to make are they?  And even more difficult when they are for a young person.

For this card, I decided to make a square card since I knew I would be hand delivering it.  I started with a Ripe Avocado cardstock card base and added a layer of Spring Rain cardstock.

On white cardstock, I stamped the vines in green ink and the flowers in blue ink.  Before adhering it to the Spring Rain layer, I wrapped grosgrain ribbon around the bottom.  I die-cut the frame, once in Spring Rain and once in white to give it a layered look (the Spring Rain layer is cut in half).  The sentiment is stamped in black ink and the design in green ink and the frame mounted on foam tape for dimension.

I die-cut the butterflies in Spring Rain and placed them on the card; I think butterflies on sympathy cards are soothing.  To complete the card, I added little gems to the centers of the larger flowers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI With Sympathy, Boutique Borders: Sympathy
  • Paper:  PTI Ripe Avocado, Spring Rain, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Spring Rain; Memento Pistachio, Summer Sky, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Boutique Borders: Sympathy Die; Memory Box Dancing Butterflies Die
  • Other:  PTI Ripe Avocado Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape; Gems
  • Card Size:  5.5" x 5.5"

Feel Better Soon

This card uses a technique I saw on Nichole's blog  for Make It Monday #148, called "Generation Stamping With Line Images & Multiple Colors".  I didn't have time to enter the contest, but wanted to try it anyway.

Starting with a piece of white cardstock, I stamped the flowers in Rose Bud ink and the leaves in Spring Moss ink. The images look a little blurry because of the way they're stamped.  They are stamped twice - once and then again, slightly off the image.  After I finished the stamping, I decided to make this a get well card and added the sentiment in black ink.

I used an inverted corner rounder and placed it on a Spring Moss cardstock card base.  A little glitter was  added to the flowers for sparkle.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI In Bloom, Inside & Out: Well Wishes
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Moss, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Spring Moss; Memento Rose Bud, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Inverted Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Glitter
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

May Your Birthday Bring You....

I saw this card on my Pinterest board, it's a card Nichole made, I think when Lovely Layers was first released.  I liked the style so much I decided to make one for myself, of course changing it up a little.

I started with a white cardstock card base and stamped the leaves in green ink directly on the white, adding the veins in a darker green.  I die-cut the next three layers, stamped them and adhered them on top of the leaves with foam tape.  Have to have dimension!  I added a flower gem to the center for a little bling.

The sentiment, from Stylish Sentiments, is stamped in black ink.  I rounded the right hand corners and tied a matching green ribbon around the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Lovely Layers, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Spring Moss, Hibiscus Burst; Memento Pear Tart, Cantaloupe, Rose Bud, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Lovely Layers Dies; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Gem; Foam Tape; Ribbon
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

It's A Boy!

I know I've made a lot of girl baby cards this year and wanted to make a boy card for a change.  And I also wanted to use my new Special Delivery stamp set.....this set has so much potential!

I used Spring Rain cardstock for the card base and added a layer of green and blue plaid pattern paper, rounding the right hand corners.  I wanted to put clouds in the sky....I die-cut them, stamping the sentiment in blue ink on the largest cloud, placing two of them on foam tape.

Now the real fun started - cutting out the cute little delivery truck and decorating it!  I stamped the outline in black ink, added the polka dots and stripe along the top in light blue ink and stamped the "bottoms up" message in black ink.  Oh, I even stamped the headlight in yellow ink!  I placed it on foam tape for more dimension.

The banner is die-cut in matching Spring Rain cardstock and stamped with blue ink.  A nice, crisp white ribbon in tied in a bow to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Special Delivery, Special Delivery Sentiments; Taylored Expressions Bringing Home Baby
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Rain, White Stampers Select; Dena Designs Plaid
  • Ink:  PTI Enchanted Evening; Memento Summer Sky, Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Thatched Straw
  • Tools:  PTI Special Delivery Die, Bountiful Banners Die, Heart-2-Heart #6, Clouds 1 & 2 Collection; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Ribbon; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Wish Big

I was looking through my embossing folders and pulled this circles one out to make a card.  Embossing is so easy to do and really adds a nice effect to the card.

I embossed white cardstock and adhered it to a Hawaiian Shores card base.  Next, I die-cut three stitched banners in three different colors of scrap paper.  Don't want those scraps to go to waste!  I stamped different birthday wishes on each of them in black ink.

I die-cut a white oval, stamped the image in Spring Moss ink and layered it on a scalloped oval.  The oval is adhered on foam tape.  To finish the card, I tied Honeydew twine around the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI 2012 Birthday Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, White Stampers Select, Simply Chartreuse, Spring Moss
  • Ink:  PTI Spring Moss; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Limitless Labels: Ovals Dies; Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Flag Die; Darice Circles Embossing Folder
  • Other:  Twine; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

May Your Love Grow

It seems like a long time since I made an anniversary card....and I wanted to use my Inside & Out Love set.

Once again, I was in the mood to use pink and grey and pulled out my Sweet Blush pattern paper, decided to use the damask pattern, and adhered it to a Sweet Blush card base.

I die-cut a stitched circle and stamped the sentiment in medium grey ink.  It fit perfectly!  I added the heart, also die-cut in Sweet Blush cardstock on foam tape, placing a gem in the center.  The stitched circle is also on foam tape.  To finish the card I tied ribbon in a bow around the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Inside & Out:  Love
  • Paper:  PTI Sweet Blush, Sweet Blush Damask Pattern, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Amuse Seattle
  • Tools:  PTI Heart-2-Heart #11 Die; Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Circle Die
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Ribbon; Gem
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

What's New?

Watercolor is a hot, hot trend right now, and I've been trying all different techniques the past few days.  I love using watercolor, and it's a lot easier to do than I thought it would be.

For this card I used Tim Holtz distress ink.  I stamped some of the ink on a piece of acetate, and using a water filled brush, dipped the brush in the ink with a bit of water.  I brushed it onto watercolor paper creating this diagonal brushed look.  I found that using watercolor paper worked much better than regular cardstock.

I stamped the typewriter and sentiment on the card in black.  I wanted to bring out the teal and the black in the card and layered the image on black, mounted to a Hawaiian Shores card base.  I placed the two layers flush against the right side for a different look.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Amuse Just My Type
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores; The Paper Company; Watercolor
  • Ink:  Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers Distress Ink; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Other:  Water Brush
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Celebrating With You

Happy Spring!!  Finally, finally Spring is here!  Although the weather isn't as warm as it's supposed to be, I'll take it.  We all had a rough winter and need to have some nice, warm, snow-free days!

This set doesn't belong to me, I used this set the other day at my weekly craft group.  It's called Delightful Dahlia Additions, and when stamped in three layers, gives a lot of depth to the flowers.

I stamped the flowers on white cardstock using three different colors of purple ink, adding the flower center in dark purple.  I stamped the leaves in green ink, but after I stamped them, I didn't like the way it looked, so I fussy cut the flowers.  I started over by adhering the cut flowers to white cardstock, placing the largest flower on foam tape.  I stamped smaller leaves this time in green ink and was much happier with the way it looked.

The sentiment is stamped in a medium purple ink.  I adhered the card to a Winter Wisteria card base with rounded corners.  To complete the card, I tied Honeydew twine around the spine and added glitter to the flowers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Delightful Dahlias Additions, Ruby Rose
  • Paper:  PTI Winter Wisteria, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Spring Moss; Memento Lulu Lavender, Sweet Plum, Elderberry
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Twine; Foam Tape; Glitter
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Thank You

I'm still trying to replenish my thank you supply and still loving my Be Happy stamp set!

I cut a square in polka dot paper using the Heart Squared die.  I die-cut the butterfly in Plum Pudding cardstock and added the matching polka dot center.  I also die-cut the antennae in black cardstock and attached it to the butterfly.  Of course the butterfly is on foam tape for dimension!  All was placed on a white card base with rounded bottom corners.

My favorite thing with this set is that scalloped border - I die-cut it in Plum Pudding and added it at the top.  I stamped the sentiment in black to complete the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Be Happy, Communique Curves Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Plum Pudding, Dotty Biscotti, True Black
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Be Happy Dies, Heart Squared Die; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Foam Tape

Celebrate Today

I'm so happy with the way this card turned out!  I wanted to use my library stamp since it's another stamp I haven't used yet and I bought it at least 6 months ago.

I started with a Kraft cardstock card base and added a layer of blue polka dot paper, with vintage overtones (notice the "aging" at the bottom of the paper).  I stamped the library card image in a light brown ink on Rustic White cardstock, cut it out and rounded the corners.

I remembered I had the library pocket die and die-cut it in Kraft paper.  I tied Maraschino twine around it in a knot and adhered it to the card on a slight angle.  I stamped "celebrate today" in blue ink on the library card and slipped it into the library pocket.

The stars are die-cut in Pure Poppy and Enchanted Evening cardstock using stitched stars and adhered to the card with glue dots.  I also added a blue star to the bottom of the library card, just in case the recipient pulls the card out, they will see another star!  My last step was die-cutting the banner and stamping the sentiment.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Library Card, Keep It Simple: Birthday, 2012 Birthday Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Rustic White, Pure Poppy, Enchanted Evening; Kaiser Craft Garage Days
  • Ink:  PTI Enchanted Evening; Memento Desert Sand
  • Tools:  PTI Library Pocket Die, Bountiful Banners Die; Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Stars; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Tinkled Pink About Your Big News

Lots of baby girls born this year so far...haven't heard of any boys yet!  This card uses PTI's Feather Finery stamps, and in my opinion has to be the best feather stamps I've seen!  The details in the stamps are unbelievable.  Feathers are the trend right now so it was time for me to use this set!

I stamped the feathers on white cardstock in light pink ink and then added the dots in a darker pink.  I stamped the sentiment in a medium grey ink and added circles of light grey in the background.  I adhered the stamped image to a layer of Sweet Blush cardstock and used Soft Stone cardstock for the card base.  Pink and grey are such a pretty color combination!

Yes, I pulled out my white Fun Fur for this card!  It's soft and feathery looking and I thought it made a nice addition to the card and was a little different than just using ribbon.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Feather Finery
  • Paper:  PTI Soft Stone, Sweet Blush, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Soft Stone, Berry Sorbet; Amuse Seattle; VersaMagic Pink Grapefruit
  • Other:  Fun Fur
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Birthday Wishes

This card was inspired by colors found on a new blog I'm following called The Card Concept.  Every two weeks they introduce a new color combination.  This is the color for week 5, a color combo I wouldn't really use but like the look of it!

I used Dark Chocolate cardstock for my card base and added a layer of green polka dot pattern paper.  The banner is cut in Ripe Avocado cardstock, using my Notched Hearts die for the first time.

I die-cut the two circles, stamped the sentiment and placed it on foam tape for dimension.  Since this really looked like a masculine card, I just had to add a piece of jute to complete it!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI 2012 Birthday Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Dark Chocolate, Ripe Avocado, White Stampers Select, Fall Prints
  • Ink:  Memento Pistachio
  • Tools:  PTI Notched Hearts Banner Die, Limitless Layers: Circles Dies
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Jute
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy 90th Birthday

You'll notice I made a few cards with this same design using polka dots and Ruby Reprise.  I really liked the colors and the style of the card and it was easy to change it up for any occasion.

I used Plum Pudding (I know it looks black in the picture but it's dark purple) cardstock for the card base, rounding the right hand corners.  On a piece of white cardstock, I stamped 3 rows of polka dots in light green ink.

I die-cut the flowers, stamped and adhered them to the card, placing the purple one in the upper right hand corner on foam tape.  I die-cut the numbers, once in coaster and once in Plum Pudding.  The numbers are on foam tape for dimension.

I stamped "happy" and "birthday" and added the "th" cut in a piece of scrap paper.  The person who wanted this special card also wanted the recipient's name on the front; I cut "Floss" in purple cardstock using Sizzix letters.  I die-cut another orange flower placed on foam tape, added glitter to the flowers and tied light green ribbon around the spine.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Ruby Reprise, Polka Dot Basics, Embroidered Blooms, Big Birthday Wishes, Harvest Berries
  • Paper:  PTI Plum Pudding, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Pear Tart, Tangelo, Tuxedo Black; Brilliance Pearlescent Purple
  • Tools:  PTI Ruby Rose Dies, By The Numbers Dies, Suffix Style Dies; Corner Rounder; Sizzix Classic Alphabet

Wishing You A Wonderful Birthday

I really like all of PTI's Cover Plates and this one is no exception.  It's called Stripes Horizontal and is also available in diagonal and vertical stripes.

I used Aqua Mist cardstock for my card base and die-cut the Cover Plate in white as well.  I attached the Cover Plate die-cut to the card base.  I cut another Cover Plate in Aqua Mist cardstock and used the stripes to fill in the white.  Using my Button Stacks dies, I die-cut them in Hibiscus Burst and Aqua Mist felt, stacked and threaded them with white twine.

I stamped the sentiment in black on the stripe and adhered it to the card on foam tape for dimension.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Wishes Come True
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Aqua Mist
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Cover Plate: Stripes Horizontal Die; Button Stacks Dies
  • Other:  PTI Hibiscus Burst, Aqua Mist Felt; Foam Tape; Twine

With Sympathy (CAS #6)

Looked through my Memory Box dies and saw a few that haven't been used much.  Maybe because I have too much stuff I just can't use it all?  haha

I used Rustic White cardstock for the card base, rounding the bottom corners.  I die-cut the branch in brown paper and the birds in a deep blue paper and adhered them to the card.

The sentiment is stamped in brown ink.  I thought there was too much space between the branch and sentiment so I scored 6 lines to help fill in the space.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Botanical Silhouettes
  • Paper:  PTI Rustic White; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa
  • Tools:  Memory Box Woodland Branch, Resting Birds; Scor-Pal; Corner Rounder
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Sending Sincere Thanks

I think I mentioned I've been making a lot of thank you cards because I don't have many in my inventory.

I wanted to use Washi tape on the card and pulled out two different polka dot patterns.  I added the 3 strips to the left hand side on a piece of white cardstock.  I knew I was going to stamp the sentiment in black ink and wanted a line of black Washi tape on the card to help highlight the black ink, and I think adding this strip did the trick!

I die-cut the Boutique Borders frame in white and stamped the frame image in red ink and the sentiment in black ink.  I die-cut the frame again in Pure Poppy cardstock, cut it in half and backed the white cardstock with it.  The frame is adhered with foam tape.  I rounded the right hand corners and adhered it to a Pure Poppy card base.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Boutique Borders: Thanks
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Pure Poppy; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Boutique Borders: Thanks Die; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Washi Tape; Foam Tape

Time Spent Living Life...

I'm trying to pull out some of my PTI sets I haven't used very much or not used at all.  Yes, I do have some sets I never used!  I've only used this set, Hands Of Time, a few times and really need to use it more often!

I used Soft Stone cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Scarlet Jewel.  I really like any colors with light grey!  I stamped the clock onto white in a medium grey ink, adding the numbers and hands in wine color ink.  I added a silver faux eyelet to the clock center.

The sentiment is also stamped in wine and medium grey inks.  For a change, I used my inverted corner rounder on the white cardstock.  I tied a piece of Stone twine around the card to complete it.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Hands Of Time
  • Paper:  PTI Soft Stone, Scarlet Jewel, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Scarlet Jewel; Amuse Seattle
  • Tools:  Inverted Corner Rounder
  • Other: Twine; Faux Eyelet
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

I have a bunch of these butterflies already die-cut and thought I'd make a quick card using one.

The card base is white cardstock; I added a strip of Hibiscus Burst, layered with Hibiscus Burst Damask pattern paper.  The butterfly is adhered to the card on just one side - the wings on the right hand side are not glued down to add a little dimension.  I rounded the bottom right hand corner and added 3 gems to the butterfly center.

I die-cut the banner, stamped the sentiment in black ink and adhered it with foam tape.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Bountiful Banners
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Hibiscus Burst, Hibiscus Burst Damask Pattern
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Bountiful Banners Die; Memory Box Vivienne Butterfly Die; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Gems
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

I was looking through my embossing folders and pulled this one out, which I used on Hawaiian Shores cardstock and matted it on white card stock.  I really like the look of any type of embossing!

I cut a piece of white cardstock to fit within the embossed area and stamped the flowers in a coordinating blue ink and the stems in light beige ink, instead of traditional green.  I stamped the flower centers and the sentiment in black ink.

I rounded the corners and tied Charcoal twine around it before adhering it to the card base.  My last step was adding glitter to the flowers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Botanical Silhouettes, Gracious Vases, Reasons To Smile
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  VersaMagic Turquoise Gem; Brilliance Pearlescent Beige; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Stampin' Up Framed Tulips Embossing Folder; Corner Rounder

For The Happy Couple

How about an anniversary card?

I used Hibiscus Burst cardstock for the card base.  On white cardstock, I stamped the sentiment in black ink at the top and the bottom of the card.  I ran the white through the Cuttlebug with my Linen Impression plate for a little texture.

I die-cut the heart banners in Hibiscus Burst gingham paper, adding the little black lines that connect the hearts.  I die-cut one single heart and placed it next to the sentiment on foam tape.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Heart-2-Heart #9, Confetti Garland
  • Paper:  PTI Hibiscus Burst, Hibiscus Burst Gingham, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Confetti Garland Die, Linen Impression Plate Die
  • Other:  Foam Tape

Big Birthday Wishes

I thought this pattern paper was really pretty.  It's a little different than what I normally use, but I have to go outside my comfort zone every once in a while.

I used Raspberry Fizz cardstock for the card base.  I took a piece of the pattern paper and die-cut the middle using Mat Stack #4.  I placed the piece that was cut on another die-cut of coaster for support, and adhered it to the card with foam tape for dimension.  Before adhering it, I tied ribbon around the center of the card in a bow.

I die-cut two circles, one in Raspberry Fizz and one in white.  I stamped the sentiment and placed the circles on the Mat Stack with additional foam tape.

Another view to show the dimension:

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Raspberry Fizz, White Stampers Select; Tracy Porter Colorbok
  • Ink:  Memento Rosebud
  • Tools:  PTI Mat Stack #4 Die; Circle Nestabilities

Celebrating With You

A while ago I ordered all these cute little bags from Amuse...but have I used any?  That would be a no!  haha

I used Raspberry Fizz cardstock for the card base, and added a layer of white embossed with checkerboard.  I adhered a polka dot bag on an angle and cut a piece of Spring Moss cardstock, placing it over the bag.  The sentiment is stamped in black ink.

I die-cut the flower and leaves, stamping them with coordinating inks.  My final addition was the flower gem to the center of the flower.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Ruby Reprise
  • Paper:  PTI Raspberry Fizz, Spring Moss, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Rosebud, Pear Tart
  • Tools:  PTI Ruby Rose Dies; Cuttlebug Checkerboard Embossing Folder

Sending Sincere Thanks (CAS #5)

When I first saw this stamp set, Circle Scribbles, it really didn't hold my attention.  But then I saw a few cards made with it and it jumped right into my shopping cart!

I started by stamping the circles on white cardstock, I wasn't even sure what color card base I was going to  use at this point.  I stamped the circles in Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst, Mango Madness and Pear Tart inks.  After seeing which color I wanted to highlight, I used a Harvest Gold card base.  I really don't use this color much so it was nice change.

I die-cut the banner and stamped it with the sentiment in black, placing it on foam tape for dimension.  Isn't this a fun stamp set?  Lots of possibilities I think.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Circle Scribbles, Boutique Borders: Thanks
  • Paper:  PTI Harvest Gold, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  PTI Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst; VersaMagic Mango Madness; Memento Pear Tart, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Sketched Shapes Die
  • Other:  Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday

And the new PTI products are being used.....another new set featuring feathers!

I used Kraft cardstock for the card base.  On Aqua Mist cardstock I stamped the two feathers in light brown ink and the feather middles with a darker brown ink.  I also stamped some dots on the background around the feathers which is hard to see in the photo.  The sentiment is also stamped in dark brown ink.

I used my distressor around the edges of the Aqua Mist cardstock.  To finish the card, I tied a piece of jute around it.  This made a nice masculine looking card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Feather Finery, Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Aqua Mist
  • Ink:  PTI Kraft; Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate; VersaMagic Wheat
  • Tools:  Distressor

This card has another new favorite of mine - Button Stacks!  These dies give you the ability to create many different button styles, single or layered, and you can use cardstock or even felt to make them!

I started with white cardstock for the card base and added another layer in white, die-cut using my new Cover Plate die - Stripes Horizontal.  I filled in the stripes by alternating them with Dark Chocolate and Sweet Blush cardstock.  Next, using the Button Stacks dies, I die-cut buttons in Dark Chocolate, Sweet Blush and White, layered them and sewed them together with Ice Cream twine.

I found a piece of pink seam binding (which I thought was ribbon!) in my stash and tied it around the bottom of the card in a bow.  I die-cut the three ovals and layered them, placing the sentiment (made on the computer) on top.  The ovals are on foam tape for dimension.

After adhering the buttons, I curled the edges of the wavy button for added dimension.  Love Button Stacks!

Thank You

Happy March!  It's getting closer to Spring, although we are expecting a snowstorm tomorrow night into Monday!  At least with the cold weather and not going out as much, it's giving me plenty of time to craft!  There are so many new things from PTI that I've been playing with!

One of my new favorites set is Be Happy!  I'll admit, this isn't something I'd typically buy, but after seeing all the cards that Melissa Bickford made with this set, I was convinced I needed it!

For this card I used white cardstock for the base.  I added another layer of white impressed with my Linen Impression Plate.  I die-cut the butterflies in blue and green and stamped them in coordinating ink (hard to see in the photo).  I die-cut the butterfly centers and also stamped them with coordinating ink.  The butterflies are adhered with foam tape.  I cut a strip of Lemon Tart cardstock and stamped the sentiment on it in black.

For the top of the card I used Card Edgers to create the scalloped look.  I die-cut the little flower, stamped it in yellow ink and placed it on foam tape, adding a small gem to the center.
