thank you

I made this card last year after I saw it on Betsy Veldman's blog (I said I was behind with some of my card postings!).  Betsy has a Video on her blog to show you how to make the card and a matching gift bag to place them in.  How do people come up with these ideas?

I used white cardstock for the card base.  I cut a piece of the pattern paper and placed the leaf die in the middle and die-cut it.  Next I stamped the leaf image where the leaf was cut out.  Make sense??  I stamped "thank you" in a light brown ink.

The card needed shape, and like Betsy, I also cut the bottom with Card Edgers #4.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Think Big Favorites #5, Turning A New Leaf
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Tea Leaves
  • Ink:  Colorbox Warm Red; Brilliance Pearlescent Beige
  • Tools:  PTI Turning A New Leaf Die, Card Edgers #4
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy BIRTHDAY

Memory Box has some of the prettiest and most intricate dies....this is Geneva Vine, another favorite of mine.  Heck, let's face it, they're all favorites!  haha

I used Sweet Blush for the card base.  I added a layer of white cardstock impressed with my Linen Impression Plate.  Too hard to see that detail in the picture.

I die-cut the vine and the scalloped long rectangle nestability, edging around them with light pink ink.  I placed the vine on foam tape for dimension, attached it to the rectangle and adhered it to the card base.

I die-cut the circle, stamped it with pink ink and added the sentiment in grey ink (I thought black ink would be too harsh).  The circle is also on foam tape.  I added a few pearls, glitter to the flower tops and the ribbon to complete the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Sketched Shapes
  • Paper:  PTI Sweet Blush, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Versafine Smokey Grey; VersaMagic Pixie Dust
  • Tools:  Memory Box Geneva Vine; PTI Sketched Shapes Die, Linen & Canvas Impression Plate; Long Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities
  • Other:  Pearls; Ribbon; Foam Tape; Martha Stewart Fine Glitter

sweet baby

This card was inspired from one I saw on Pinterest (Joanne, Stamped by Hand) - I never thought to use the paint stroke images as the background on a baby card!

I stamped the two light blue paint images on white cardstock.  I die-cut "baby" in the green polka dot paper and also in coaster for a bit of support.  After I determined where I would adhere it to the card, I stamped "sweet" in black ink.

I ran the cardstock through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  It's really nice to see how a little embossing makes a card look so much better!  I rounded the bottom corners and selected Spring Moss cardstock for the card base.

I tied grosgrain ribbon around the top in a bow and secured it to the back of the white cardstock with Scor-tape.  I glued the two baby die-cuts together and adhered them with foam tape for a little dimension.

I wanted something else on the card and die-cut the heart and stamped it with "Love".  I threaded it with Honeydew twine and placed it behind the bow.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Watercolor Wonder, Wonderful Words: Baby, Tiny Tags
  • Paper:  PTI Spring Moss, Pretty Pastels, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Summer Sky
  • Tools:  PTI Wonderful Words: Baby Die, Tiny Tags Die; Corner Rounder; Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Embossing Folder
  • Other:  PTI Spring Rain Grosgrain Ribbon, Coaster; Twine; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY birthday!

When I saw these little cupcake stamps, I knew they were going to make their way into my home.  They are so darn cute!!  There are so many options with this set!

I stamped the cupcake images on white cardstock and colored them with Copics.  Can I tell you how much fun these were to color!  I wasn't sure what color to use for the card base and tried several, finally deciding to go with Enchanted Evening (dark blue), rounding the right hand corners.  I thought blue would be good for male or female.

I stamped the sentiment (from two different stamp sets) and added a little bit of glitter on the cupcake tops.  I didn't want to put too much on just in case this card will go to a male.....you know how they don't like all that "frilly" stuff!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  WPlus9 Sweets & Treats; PTI Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Enchanted Evening, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Copics:  B00, B02, E31, E33, G82, R27, R81, R83, R85, Y11, Y32, W1, W3

It's A Celebration (CAS #27)

I think I made this card in less than 5 minutes!

I used white cardstock for the card base, cutting the bottom with card edgers.  I placed the party hat pattern paper on top, also cut with card edgers.

I stamped the sentiment on a leftover piece of party hat pattern - it was double sided paper!  I added the button that I threaded with pink tulle.  That's it!

It probably took me longer to type up this post than it did to make the card!  haha

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  Imaginisce "All Kinds of Happy"
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Card Edgers #3
  • Other:  PTI Hibiscus Burst Button; Tulle
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Thank You

This card uses another stamp set from WPlus9 called Fresh Cut Florals.

I used white cardstock for the card base and added layers of green pattern and solid yellow.  I die-cut the vase in yellow pattern paper and adhered it to the white.  I stamped the longer leaves twice, once fully inked and then once with the ink stamped off to give it a shadow look.

I stamped the pink flowers on a separate piece of white cardstock in two colors of pink and cut them out.  I also stamped the smaller leaves, cut them out and placed them at the top of the vase.  I arranged the flowers, placing two of them on foam tape and adding a small gem to the centers.  I wanted to add a little more color and stamped the smaller pink flowers.

I stamped the sentiment, rounded the corners and added the ribbon.  Love this set too!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select; DCWV Spring Fling & Summer Days
  • Ink:  Memento Bamboo Leaves, Northern Pine, Rose Bud, Angel Pink, Tuxedo Black

Christmas In July!

Yes, it's only 5 months until Christmas....time to start to thinking of what to make for the holidays.  It's a little hard to get in a Christmas mood when the temperatures have been in the high 90's with a heat index in the low 100's.  Ugh....still waiting for the cool weather!!

The card base looks dark in the picture...it's Pinefeather, a dark almost forest green cardstock.  The next layer is Rustic Cream cardstock, cut with card edgers on the bottom.  I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark, sprinkled it with Copper Zing and heat embossed it.

I die-cut a Label One nestie in the same rustic cream and stamped the dotted lines in around the edge in brown ink using a Vintage Labels stamp.  I don't know why I don't use this set more often because it does add a nice effect.  The pine leaves are stamped in Northern Pine ink (my new favorite green ink for leaves) and the pinecones in brown ink; the top pinecone is stamped on a die-cut and placed on foam tape for dimension.  The entire label was placed on additional foam tape - lots of height on this card!

I added glitter to the pinecones and tied jute around the bottom of the card to complete it.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Peaceful Pinecones, Think Big Favorites #20, Vintage Labels
  • Paper:  PTI Pinefeather, Rustic Cream
  • Ink:  Memento Northern Pine, Rich Cocoa; Versamark
  • Tools:  PTI Peaceful Pinecones Dies; Card Edgers #1 Die; Labels One Nestabilities
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Copper Zing; Jute; Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter; Heat Gun
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Hope Your Day Is Fabulous (CAS #26)

Ombre (color fading from dark to light or vice versa) is a big trend right now and I thought it was time to give it a try.  I decided to use purple for my color and picked out 3 different shades of ink.

I used True Black cardstock for the card base and rounded the right hand corners.  I stamped the triangles onto white cardstock.  My first stamped image was about 1/3 down from the top, and then I stamped the lighter colors, overlapping the tips of the triangles.  I stamped the sentiment and completed the top of the card with two more triangles.

The card needed something and I added the silver dots to four of the triangles.  This card wasn't hard to make - the hardest part was making sure the first stamped triangle was straight on the card!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Sketched Shapes, Boutique Borders: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  VersaMagic Spring Pansy; Memento Lulu Lavender, Tuxedo Black; Brilliance Pearlescent Purple
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Metal Dots
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday Brother

I keep telling myself it's getting easier to make masculine cards, and I think it really is!  My friend asked me to make her a card to give her brother.....he likes to hunt and is a "no-frills" type of guy.

I used Kraft cardstock for the card base, impressed with my woodgrain impression plate and rounded the corners.  I placed a piece of polka dot paper down the middle to add a little color to the card.

Next, I die-cut a piece of Vintage Cream cardstock using Large Labels nestabilities and stamped the trees onto it; the trees are colored with Copics.  I stamped the deer, added the sentiment and adhered it to the card on foam tape.

My final step was adding the Cappuccino twine on the spine of the card.  I hope the twine wasn't too much "frill".  haha

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Masculine Motifs
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, Vintage Cream; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa; Brilliance Pearlescent Beige
  • Copics:  G24, G82
  • Tools:  PTI Linen & Canvas Impression Plate; Large Labels Nestabilities; Corner Rounder

Celebrate Today

I found another stamp company that I'm falling in love with called WPlus9 - they have such cute stamps!  I'll recently bought a few of their stamp sets and will be posting several cards made with them.  This card uses their Milk & Cookies set.  This set also has coordinating dies but I didn't buy them (they were easy to fussy cut).

I used Pure Poppy cardstock for the card base and added a layer of pinstripe paper.  On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped the milk bottles in black and then stamped the lemonade and straws inside the bottles.  I fussy cut the bottles and adhered them to the pinstripe paper, placing the middle bottle on foam tape for dimension.

Again, on separate white cardstock I stamped the lemon wedges and colored them with Copics.  I did the same with the leaves and the "fresh squeezed" sign, stamping them with green ink.   I fussy cut these items and placed them on the card, attaching the sign to the straw on a bit of foam tape.

I die-cut the yellow, scalloped strip at the top and attached the "HB" (for happy birthday), stamped and placed on foam tape.  For the bottom, I die-cut the banner and stamped the sentiment on it.  My last step was adding glitter to the lemonade and lemon wedges.

This will be a very versatile set, don't you think?

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  WPlus9 Milk & Cookies, Fresh Cut Florals; PTI Bountiful Banners
  • Paper:  PTI Pure Poppy, Lemon Tart, White Stampers Select; Amuse Pinstripe
  • Ink:  VersaMagic Thatched Straw, Memento Love Letter, Bamboo Leaves, Northern Pine, Tuxedo Black

  • Tools:  PTI Bountiful Banners Die; Classic Scallop Edgeabilities, Circle Nestabilities
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Martha Stewart Glitter

So Sweet Of You

This is another card that was inspired by Pinterest - made by Wendy of Happy Stamping Designs.  I'm running out of Thank You cards and thought this would make a nice thank you for someone.

I used white cardstock for the card base, impressed with my Linen Impression Plate (hard to see in picture) and rounded at the bottom.  The "basket" is made from 1/4 inch strips of Kraft cardstock and woven together in a typical basket weave.  I inked around the edges and across the basket with tea dye ink to give it a distressed look and cut the edges on angles.

I didn't have any strawberry stamps and borrowed a PTI stamp set from my PTI partner in crime.  I colored the strawberries with Copics, cut them out and adhered them to the basket, placing a few on foam tape for dimension.

I stamped the sentiment and added glitter to the strawberries.  Fun to make and a great summer card!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Jar Fillers Summer, Signature Greetings
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select, Kraft
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress
  • Copics:  R27, G82, G85

You Are Always....(CAS #25)

Using large sentiments on the card front makes it really quick to put together a card.

For this card, I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base and added a layer of pattern paper, rounding the right hand corners.

I die-cut a scalloped rectangle in Aqua Mist and a standard rectangle in white cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment on the white and adhered both pieces to the card with foam tape.

To dress it up a bit, I added white twine and a silver dot.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Stylish Sentiments:  Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, Everyday Blessings, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Standard & Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Twine; Metal Dot; Foam Tape

Happy Birthday Butterflies

I made this for a friend's daughter-in-law's birthday, but she wanted "daughter" in quotes.  It took me a long time to come up with an idea for this card....I must have had "crafter's block" or something!  lol

I used white cardstock for the card base and added the layer of purple butterfly pattern paper, rounding the bottom corners.  I die-cut the scalloped circle in light peach and two standard circles in purple and white.  I stamped the sentiment onto the white, leaving room for the monarch butterfly.

I die-cut a strip of leafy border in purple and adhered it to the card.  I placed the layer of circles on top with  foam tape.

I punched 4 more butterflies in purple and placed them in a slight pattern on the card.  To complete the card, I tied white ribbon around the card and added gems to the bodies of the butterfly.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  Just Rite Times New Roman 15 Pt
  • Paper:  HOTP; Recollections; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  Standard & Scalloped Circle Nestabilities; PTI Leafy Border Die; Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly Punch, Martha Stewart Small Butterfly Punch

Happy Birthday (CAS #24)

Sketched Shapes is another one of my favorite PTI stamp sets!  There are so many uses for it.

For this quick card, I used Blueberry Sky cardstock for the card base.  I stamped the circles in blue and brown inks onto white cardstock.  To add a little bit of dimension, I stamped 4 circles in brown ink and adhered them on top of the larger blue circles with foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment and added the jute and the card was done!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Sketched Shapes; Bountiful Banners
  • Paper:  PTI Blueberry Sky, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Blue Bahama; Brilliance Pearlescent Beige

Celebrate Today

I'm still catching up with cards I made a few months ago to post here.  This is from PTI's March release!

The candles are stamped in my favorite 7 colors of ink on white cardstock.  I added the flame to each candle in yellow ink and adhered the stamped image to a card base of True Black cardstock.

I die-cut the banner in white and stamped the sentiment and attached it to the card on foam tape.  Trying to use more sequins, I added one to each candle and thought it looked much better!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Style, Bountiful Banners
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Love Letter, Angel Pink, Cantaloupe, Pear Tart, Summer Sky, Sweet Plum, Rose Bud, Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Aquatic Splash; Brilliance Sunflower Yellow

New Blog Look!!

No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you....after almost 4 years, I thought it was time to change the look and design of my blog.  I decided to go with an all white background since I find it's much easier to read blogs with light backgrounds.

I created my own blog header using www.picmonkey.com.  It took a while and quite a few tries to create something I liked since I wanted something that was "craft related" and finally saw they had buttons as a selection!  Perfect!

I wanted to keep the banner white, but saw the spiral paper and paper clip and thought it was a nice addition.  I'm very happy with the way my blog looks now and hope I won't wait 3.5 years to change it again!

60 and fabulous!

I made this for a friend of mine turning the big 6-0, and of course I have to remind her of that! hehe

I used Hawaiian Shores cardstock for the card base, added a layer of black cardstock and another layer of white, embossed with stripes.  I rounded the lower right hand corner of each layer.

I die-cut pinking circles in Hawaiian Shores and black and adhered them to the card.  The 60 is die-cut in black and chevron paper; placed together slightly off center to create a shadow look.  The "0" is on foam tape for a bit of dimension.

I die-cut the banner in Hawaiian Shores, stamped it with the sentiment and adhered it to the card with foam tape.  I added 4 silver sequins to complete the card.

I stamped the inside of the card using one of the stamps from Stylish Sentiments: Birthday and layered it on black.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Big Birthday Wishes, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, True Black, White Stampers Select; Amuse Chevron
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI By The Numbers Dies, Sketched Shapes Die, Simple Stripes Impression Plate; Pinking Circle Nestabilities, Long Rectangle Nestabilities; Corner Rounder
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Sequins

Wish Big (Scraps)

I was looking at all the PTI scraps I have and was going to (reluctantly) throw some of the smaller pieces away and saw that I had a lot of 1/4 inch strips.  I thought "hmmm, I can probably make something with these."  And I did!

I used white cardstock for the card base and adhered the scrap strips in a random order so the colors looked appealing to me.  I die-cut a Labels 4 shape in Kraft and white cardstock (also scraps), stamping the sentiment in black ink.  The sentiment is placed on foam tape for dimension.

The card looked too plain (of course!) so I used a few stars that I had leftover from another project.  Other than the card base, this entire card is made from scraps!  This was so much better than throwing out my precious PTI paper!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Plum Pudding, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores, Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, Harvest Gold, Blueberry Sky, Aqua Mist, Kraft, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

  • Other:  Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Thank You

Hawaiian Shores is one of my favorite PTI cardstock colors - so many colors go so well with it!

I used white cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Hawaiian Shores cardstock. In the center of a piece of white cardstock, I stamped the flowers in blue and green inks.  I stamped the sentiment at the top and the lines at the bottom to balance out the card.

I added the butterflies in Cantaloupe ink and black Pearl Pen to the flower centers.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Botanical Silhouettes, Places Please, Mat Stack 1 Collection
  • Paper:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Cantaloupe, Bamboo Leaves; VersaMagic Turquoise Gem

Wishing You a Very Happy Birthday (CAS #23)

Another quick CAS card to share.

I stamped the five "birthday" images onto white cardstock in light brown and blue inks.  In black ink, I stamped "wishing you a very happy" under the 5th birthday.

I die-cut the last "birthday" in white and stamped it with the same blue ink and placed it on foam tape for dimension.  I really had to cut the foam tape small to do this!  haha  The stamped image was placed on a Kraft card base.

This makes a nice male birthday card and could be done in feminine colors for a female.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Wonderful Words: Birthday
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Bahama Blue, Toffee Crunch
  • Tools:  PTI Wonderful Words:  Birthday Die
  • Other:  Foam Tape

Happy Birthday

Time to use a color I haven't used for a while - Lavender Moon.  I'm not sure what color this is - sort of a cross between pink and a light purple.

I used Lavender Moon cardstock for the card base and added a layer of coordinating polka dot paper.  I die-cut the tag and stamped it with the flowers, stems and butterfly.  I added a pearl to each of the flower centers and Honeydew twine at the top.  I placed the tag on foam tape for dimension.

I die-cut the banner in Lavender Moon, stamped the sentiment and adhered it to the tag.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Polka Dot Parade #2, Bountiful Banners
  • Paper:  PTI Lavender Moon, Polka Dot Parade, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Lulu Lavender, Sweet Plum, Pear Tart, Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Tag Sale #2, Bountiful Banners Die

With Sympathy

I'm still trying to use more of my Memory Box dies.....

I used Blueberry Sky cardstock for the card base and topped it with a piece of white cardstock.  I die-cut a circle in Spring Rain and placed it on foam tape for dimension on top of the white.

I die-cut the tree in white cardstock, edged the tips of the branches with beige ink and placed it in the center of the circle.  I stamped the sentiment at the bottom and added the little bird to the tree branch.  A simple, but elegant looking card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Botanical Silhouettes
  • Paper:  PTI Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; Brilliance Pearlescent Beige
  • Tools:  Memory Box Twiggy Tree, Resting Birds; Standard Circle Nestabilities

Triple Happy Birthday (CAS #22)

My latest obsession seems to be collecting washi tape, and I have quite a bit of it now, so I need to use it, right??

This card was so simple to make!  I took a piece of white cardstock and wrapped four different patterns of washi tape around it, leaving a space at the top to stamp the sentiment.  I stamped "happy birthday" three times in that empty space to fill it up.

I tied Charcoal twine around the bottom and attached the washi tape piece to a card base of black cardstock.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Sketched Shapes
  • Paper:  PTI True Black, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Other:  Washi Tape (Target); Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Celebrate Today Balloons

Well, I have to say, Birthday Style was a good purchase for me since I'm using it so much!  I really like the addition of balloons on a birthday card.

I used Aqua Mist cardstock for the card base, rounding the right hand corners.  I added a layer of white cardstock that I randomly stamped with confetti in pink, green and blue inks.   I die-cut the frame with Aqua Mist pattern paper and backed it with Lemon Tart cardstock, stamped with the sentiment.

I die-cut the balloons in white and stamped them with pink, green and yellow inks.  For the balloon strings I used Buttercream, Honey Dew and Blossom twine, tying a bow at the bottom.  The balloons are on foam tape for dimension with a sequin added to each one.

My final step was die-cutting the banner and stamping it with "celebrate today.  The banner is attached with foam tape with two more sequins.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Style, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday, Bountiful Banners
  • Paper:  PTI Aqua Mist, White Stampers Select, Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist Pattern, Spring Moss
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Pear Tart, Rose Bud; VersaMagic Aquatic Splash, Thatched Straw
  • Tools:  PTI Birthday Style Die, Fabulous Frames Die, Bountiful Banners Die; Corner Rounder

{happy birthday}

I saw this card style on Pinterest (here) and wanted to make it right away!  It's very dimensional, but the best thing is the box folds down flat for mailing!  It looks complicated to make but it really wasn't!

I used Lemon Tart cardstock for the card base, running the top of the card through the Cuttlebug with my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I cut the bottom of the card front with card edgers to create the curve at the bottom.

I selected a green and yellow check pattern paper to make the box.  The box is made from a 4" x 4" piece of paper, scored twice diagonally on four sides, then the score lines are folded to create the "box".  I lined the box with a piece of Linen Vellum because the green color was a little too bright for me.

I die-cut the butterfly twice, once in yellow polka dot paper and once in the matching check pattern paper, layered them on top of each other and adhered them to the center of the box.  I added two light yellow pearls to the center.

For the sentiment, instead of just stamping it onto the yellow cardstock, I decided stamp it on the check pattern paper, using card edgers again to shape it.  I think the pattern paper helps brings the colors on the card together.  Fun card to make!

A better look at the dimension of the card:

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments
  • Paper:  PTI Lemon Tart, Linen Vellum, Bitty Dots; Tracy Porter Colorbox
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Card Edgers #1 Dies; Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly Punch
  • Other:  Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder; Pearls
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Thinking Of You With Sympathy

I'm used my Natural Beauties stamp set again to make this sympathy card.

I used Plum Pudding cardstock for the card base, cutting the bottom with Card Edgers #1.  On white cardstock, I stamped the flowers in purple with light orange centers and the ferns in light green ink.  The sentiment is stamped in black.

I ran the stamped white cardstock through the Cuttlebug using my Linen Impression plate and added a silver center, made with Pearl Pen to the flowers to finish the card.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Natural Beauties, Mailbox Greetings, Lovely Layers
  • Paper:  PTI Plum Pudding, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Brilliance Pearlescent Plum; Memento Pear Tart, Cantaloupe, Tuxedo Black

Make A Wish (CAS #21)

Another quick card using washi tape and a new set from Amuse!

I used Raspberry Fizz cardstock for the card base. I took a piece of white cardstock and wrapped the 3 strips of washi tape around the bottom.  I rounded the corners and adhered it to the card base.

I stamped the feathers in two different pink colors and the sentiment in black.  I added the 3 gems to complete the card.

  • Ink:  Memento Rose Bud, Angel Pink, Tuxedo Black

Happy Independence Day!

I had a few other ideas of what to make for a 4th of July card, but I didn't like them once I put them together.  This is a "last minute idea" card, and other than the card base, it's made from scraps!

I used white cardstock for the card base and added a layer of red cardstock.  I die-cut the stars on white cardstock, backed them with the star pattern paper and stamped the sentiment in blue.

I placed the white cardstock on blue and adhered it with foam tape for a little bit of height.  This was a quick card to make!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Happy Day
  • Paper:  PTI White Stampers Select; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Nautical Blue
  • Tools:  Stars Nestabilities
  • Other:  Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday Tag

I recently "discovered" that I can use my Cover Plates as an impression plate and really like the look it produces.  This is my first try at using it this way and it turned out better than expected!

I used Lemon Tart cardstock for the card base.  I ran a piece of white cardstock through the Cuttlebug using the "embossing sandwich" method with my Hexagon Cover Plate.

I die-cut the tag and stamped the flowers and leaves on it with yellow, orange, green and blue inks.  I tied the bow using Lemon Tart ribbon and stamped the sentiment in black.  The tag is adhered to the card on foam tape. Such a summery looking card!

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Mini Blooms, Sketched Shapes
  • Paper:  PTI Lemon Tart, White Stampers Select
  • Ink:  Memento Pear Tart, Cantaloupe, Tuxedo Black; VersaMagic Thatched Straw, Aquatic Splash
  • Tools:  PTI Tag Sale #1 Die, Hexagon Cover Plate
  • Other:  PTI Lemon Tart Polka Dot Ribbon; Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

Country House Birthday

My friend bought the Country House die from Memory Box and we wanted to make something with it.

I used Kraft cardstock for the card base and added a layer of white.  I die-cut the hills in green pattern paper and placed them on the card.  I die-cut the house in white cardstock and edged around it in beige ink.

I stamped a few clouds directly on the cardstock and added a couple that were die-cut and stamped with the same blue ink; the die-cut clouds are on foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink.

The card looked too plain and then I thought of adding balloons to the porch!  I die-cut the balloons with a punch, adhered Buttercream twine and "tied" them to the porch.  The balloons are also on foam tape.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Heart-2-Heart #6
  • Paper:  PTI Kraft, White Stampers Select; DCWV
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; Brilliance Pearlescent Beige
  • Tools:  Memory Box Country House; PTI Heart-2-Heart #6 Dies, In The Meadow Dies; EK Success Small Balloon Punch
  • Other:  Foam Tape; Twine
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"

H A P P Y Birthday

It's hard be believe it's July already!  The only downside is it's summer and it's been hot.  But on a positive note - each day is a day closer to Autumn!  haha

I was playing around when I made this card after looking at all the scraps I have, and decided I needed to use some.  So everything other than the card base and white layer is scraps.  Maybe I should make a "scraps" card every once in a while and post it?

I used Sweet Blush cardstock for the card base and added a layer of white cardstock.  I stamped "birthday" on the white and ran it through the Cuttlebug with my Swiss dots embossing folder.

I cut the scalloped circles in three colors:  Sweet Blush, Ripe Avocado and Melon Berry, and placed polka dot circles on top.  I die-cut the letters in the same cardstock colors and placed them on the circles.  Three of the circles are on foam tape for dimension.

Card Details:
  • Stamps:  PTI Big Birthday Wishes
  • Paper:  PTI Sweet Blush, Ripe Avocado, Melon Berry, White Stampers Select, Polka Dot Parade
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Tools:  PTI Block Alpha Upper & Lower Dies; Martha Stewart 1" Circle Punch; Paper Shapers 1.25" Scalloped Circle Punch; Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
  • Other:  Foam Tape
  • Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
